i remember watching the vod for this and being frustrated i couldnt share my inca/aztec/maya knowledge (i have had a hyperfixation on native american cultures for like 3 years now) first: It actually WAS aztec cultures who had canals for irrigation. the system is made of "chinampas," which are woven islands that float upon the lakes that they lived. (in case you dont know, mexico city, which is the modern day city containing the old tenochtitlan and teotihuacan, is pretty much entirely located on a lake basin. these aztec cities were built on lakes! thats how chinampas worked, with fishing in the lake and farming on the islands) The mayans, if they were next to lakes, may have done similar practices, but the vast majority of mayan settlements were deep within the mountains and jungles of the yucatan. They would slash and burn jungles to make way for farmland, and use terrace farming in hillier areas. Many cities of theirs werent even on freshwater; they would actually build their cities in the shape of a basin to catch rainwater in these cases. Its because of this that water lilies became a symbol of Mayan health, wellness, and wealth, because they could only grow in fresh water. (do with that information what you will) The incans were fucking AWESOME (as awesome as a miltary empire can be, at least) They did HEAVY masonry and terrace farming, and knew how to manipulate water and earth to AMAZING precision. Incan masonry was made in an interlocking way so that even the common earthquakes of the andes could not knock down their houses. If your entire house is built like a jigsaw puzzle then an earthquake cant do shit, it will just rumble around the giant blocks of stone for a bit. Their terrace farms were also made in an interesting way: a lot of them used soil taken from further down the mountains, since the andes are incredibly rocky. Also, they used the different elevations to create microclimates and grow different crops at different heights. There's even at least one site at which the incans used to selectively breed crops to be hardier by slowly increasing the height at which they could grow over generations. Literally an agricultural laboratory. its AWESOME. They even invented freeze-drying foods by storing long-term foods on the mountaintops! One of the few quechuan loan words in english is "jerky" from "ch'arki" which was partially made and preserved this way!!! I have a lot more info but ill keep this related to Zou: The way i see it, the buildings are inspired by the incan architecture because being on the back of a moving elephant is prone to tremors. They do NOT use chinampas in the same way that the aztec and mayan lake peoples would have, but rather have a kind of mixture of the mayan "basin" format to keep water and canals to spread said water. Since they can count on zunesha spraying his back every day, however, they have no need to preserve the wayer the same way mayan basins did, so its reversed! There are no terraces, but it is done in the form of a terrace farm, where water drains down zunesha's back into all the farmland from high elevation to low, however there are no terraces so its more like a reversed basin, with the convex shape combined with canals/aqueducts to help with irrigation. anyways YEAH!! i think its pretty cool and very intentional
The buildings on the first town do feel Incan. The one in the forest on the other hand got Indonesian feels to it with the curved roof resembling buffalo horns. The elephant itself might refer to Thais folklore of Erawan.

Little thing on the Free Mason idea It would only work in English, since the original German word is "Freimaurer". "Maurer" can be translated as "bricklayer" or "mason", but those two words are not interchangeable in German. The Kozukis are masons, but not in the "Maurer"-sense. People who carve stone are called "Steinmetz" in German (Stone mason, Steinmetz). A "Maurer" lays bricks and builds walls and such. But I don't know which version is used in Japan. German words are almost als prevalent in Japan as English ones.

Nami's German dress is amazing, my favorite by far, not that I think the others are bad, but I just love this look on her.
I wonder if Zunesha's legs were always that long or if it is part of their curse to be able to roam the seas.
You got lost in the sause on jacks tattoo and race when you already know he is a fishman
Aztecs also used a similar water irrigation system...
I know. I just didn’t connect. Oh well. P.S. I’m caught all the way up now. I’m all up in the comment section.
@@Mamadrawk oh crap, I just realized who replied to me :D

When she starts Wano she should be shown the Arc intro from the Anime. It’s a joy to watch.
Shes read all of Wano! Is now mostly done with Egghead
Hi mama drawk, idk if this has been brought to your attention yet or if I missed it, but this is about Sabo telling Luffy that he hasnt changed. I was watching a OP reaction video and found myself reacting to Ace and Luffy's meeting in Alabasta, and Ace says the exact same thing.
Which is more Garfield: Cat Viper or Who's Who?
I'm surprised she didn't catch some of the smaller details revealed in wano. But then again, neither did we.
Blessed be thy mom piece 💖
I like you. P.S. I finished reading today. All the way to the end. I did the countdown in the Discord. It was awesome. But also, it means I’m all up in the comment section commenting and stuff
@Mamadrawk a reply from mama herself! Amazing 👏 so happy your caught up! Thank you so much for your incredible words and thoughts from this series ❤️
Oh that Dragon.. Those drawings..
I wonder how will she will react when she found out why Jack was so sure that the ninja is on Zou.. 😮
And the Dragons that's coming! 😂
How many tears will drop when it's Wano? 😢
Will she like Momo in the future? ❤
And lastly will she be blown away by Momo back story? 🎉
Go go go Wano!
Oh she's done with Wano and going to Egghead already? Hahaha OK..
Oh by the way.. Did she pick up that info that Momonosuke met Roger? Chapter 820..
@gnaleinad yeah the youtube vids are a few months behind to allow time for the editing and as a buffer.
If anyone else is looking for the song at the end it's called effervescing elephant apparently:

With the idea of the Klabautermann we can have Pluton the ship and the creature
Alright, whole cake is next, and cant wait for her thoughts.
Also, her killing her son isn’t the worst thing she did.
We really dont have any evidence at this time that pluton IS a battleship. The plans that Franky burned were for a battleship, but it was one that could counter pluton.
You do not necessarily need a battleship to counter a battleship.
Little thing on the Free Mason idea
It would only work in English, since the original German word is "Freimaurer".
Wait, did y'all not talk about the Sanji and Bege part at all? Or did I miss it somehow?
Dummy's who don't know one piece "luffys not political, one piece has no political alignment."
Literally luffy: "I want all my friends to be free in their own countries, free from oppression, with as much food as they want"
oh one piece is political, but he could be bribed with food into at least not taking down someone
@@j.b.5422 that's fair 🤣🤣🤣
Outro (funny)
CAPTAIN KIDD FANS RISE UP
im not a huge fan of the minks' incorporation into one piece's worldbuilding - but i am into their story involvement. just feel like they're just one of those things where Oda is going "don’t think abt it too much." i think the Zoan users have a bit more going for them than the minks
Most races when they're introduced play a huge role in the history of the One Piece world. When I saw them, it made me question whether the Minks or the Zoans came first.
It's leviosaaaa
Woot! For the algorithm!
