I'm new to this disturbing little Tik Tok trend but this is yet another bad sign of how media outlets have implanted false ideas. The persecuted Christian is a myth in America and If anyone's been persecuted it's been those who believe in other Gods or none at all. Who really is being oppressed or silenced? This is a very effective strategy unfortunately.
Ah yes Christianity, the most dominant religion in the United States but somehow all are being persecuted 😂
When you are used to 100% privilege, 95% seems like oppression.
@@GuitarDog_atx : that's a good way to put it.
The bible tells them they are persecuted. So they look for it everywhere. Which is why it makes them feel foolish when you show them love and forgiveness. Remember, religion can happen to anyone, so it's best not to hold it against people.
Maybe they're upset that the Muslims are outnumbering them ever so slowly....
Yes pure nonsense
Their fake blood and bruises are an offensive mockery of persecuted people who have suffered actual assault.
Their entire persecution narrative spits on the struggles of other marginalized groups.
@UDon'tKnowMe Yeah, our governor was on twitter imploring people to cooperate with mask mandates so we wouldn't have to shut down businesses and schools again. The responses were a cesspool of people equating the request to torture and slavery. There was one woman who literally asked when he was going to "stop torturing our children."
They are fantasizing and fetishizing a romanticized version of persecution. They are privileged to have never experienced the real thing, and I doubt would so joyfully accept their fate if they were actual victims.
They are getting an endorphin high from believing themselves so selflessly devoted to an idea that they would accept the ultimate sacrifice in its service.

@Joe McIlroy, there are many instance of that in the wars of religion fought between England and France and England and Ireland.
@Joe McIlroy The IRA is a direct result of England basically using catholics in Northern Ireland as slave labor, European history is riddled with Catholics persecuting Protestants and Protestants persecuting Catholics after Martin Luther came into the picture, it all depended on what region or country you were in, Spain or France? Since when did we have the tech to make microchips small enough to be injected with a syringe?
Or are we just dealing with people who don't manage to think that far?
We do have this tech, but it just doesn't work the way people imagine it. These chips don't have their own battery power, so they work only as passive markers. Kind of like a microscopic tattoo.
The tiny chip is passive only, and requires an external power source to be applied to wake it up, and it goes inactive as soon as the external power is removed.
This is being used for identifying pets. But the identification process requires close proximity (centimetres) to the chip. And all the chip can do is respond with an id. It can't remember anything new or do any kind of active tracking.
If and when there is technology to power a microchip from inside the human body without a bulky battery, that's a different story. Right now it's science fiction only.
We had stuff like that for a little bit now. We have tiny injectable rfid chips and now the world’s smallest camera. That Danny Trejo scene in Spy kids isn’t a fantasy anymore.
@@chimpwimp9407 I checked up on the rfid chips, as I've never heard about them. I must say they're impressively small, but it's _that,_ with a _very big_ syringe, or your dose. Thanks for teaching me something new. :)

Christians talking about persecution is one of history’s greatest ironies.
You got that one wrong.... Christianity was actually a very nice and beautiful cult. Revolutionary in its thinking, which is the reason why it spread like wildfire, and caused a lot of havoc and headache among the Roman elites and in the Senate. ......To such ends, it became a _State Religion,_ and that changed _everything._ Also its principles, its original teachings and perspectives. It had a piety, it had power, and turned greedy.
@@ingebygstad9667 Yeah... tell that to the “witches” they slaughtered. Tell that to the Native American people’s. Tell that to Jews and Muslims. Tell that to homosexuals and transgender people. Tell that to the differing sects of Christianity that slaughtered each other over stupid differences in opinion. Christianity has been one of the most oppressive cults in history.
@@zacharyodinlynn6667 I said *before* it turned into a _State Religion._ So it practically had 250 years of _being_ persecuted while it spread, running literally like a secret cult, before everything turned upside-down. You read my post wrong.
_Before seeing a light from heaven, Saul was persecuting Christians intensively. Now he heard the voice of Jesus asking him "Why are you persecuting me?" He became Paul the Apostle._
@@ingebygstad9667 I am not denying that it was persecuted at times. Though it wasn’t to the extent Christians claim. Those periods of persecution do not justify the oppression perpetrated by the Church. That is the irony. They lament persecution when they have perpetrated such oppression to a greater extent over a greater period of time than they ever received during the reigns of Nero and Domitian. Anyway, the vast majority of Christians nowadays have never experienced a single moment of persecution. And many of them are persecuting LGBTQ+ people and anyone who isn’t Christian today. Their pathetic whines of not being legally allowed to force their twisted views on others is absolutely morally bankrupt. I doubt you disagree with me there. However, denying the irony of Christians today crying over persecution for what happened to those of their religion two millennia ago, when they have perpetrated the same unto others whenever they’ve gained some power ever since, is logically fallacious. Perhaps I still don’t understand the point you were making. If so, please explain it to me. I really do appreciate the discussion.
@@zacharyodinlynn6667 I could hold a seminar about Christianity in its first three centuries, but in short: It was and provided everything for the commoner (working class) that Greek and Roman mythology was and could not, and more, as its gods was mainly for the bureaucrats, the wealthy and the military. It has to do with a simple idea. That a strong faith in Jesus will set you free, and a belief in his ideals and teachings will give you access to afterlife. Afterlife is accessible even for the poorest, and most unfortunate. Jesus idea of forgiveness was literally revolutionary.
And this is practically everything Christianity was in its beginnings.
- Before it became an organized or state religion, before it had piety, had a standardized collection of scriptures known as the Bible, before anything could even begin to mature.

I was raised a Catholic and I still have my 'Lives of the Saints' book which has martyrs in it like St. Sabastian who has arrows sticking out of his chest while he's tied to a tree looking up to heaven. I fell for it until I got old enough to start asking questions and realized I was in a cult! I left the church when I was twenty. I'm now 72 but there are still scars. It's a horrible thing to do to a child.
I was raised Catholic and Protestant. I'm still sore about both, but with Catholicism, its a bit deeper. Nobody has the right to tell a gullible parent to baptize a baby then tell them they're Catholic for life. That is extremely toxic.
I love how they can persecute Atheist but not the other way around.

To the guy who went to preach, knowing he would die...let them die. Let nature run its course and we can be rid of the crazies.
When I was three years old, I was marching in place at Sunday school, singing about being a christian soldier and chanting to the god who would burn me forever if I stepped out of line. "Jesus Camp" type stuff.
Before I was old enough for public school, the church I went to had me ready to not only fight for jesus, but also ready to die for him.
By age 6, I found out my dad wasn't baptised. I grew up "knowing" my dad was most likely headed to hell.
I was in my late 20s when I told my father a secret I had held for two decades. When I was little, and on a Sunday that a baptism was taking place for another family, I pretended I needed to go to the bathroom.
Instead I snuck to the kitchen in the church basement and put some of the baptismal water into my water bottle, and I kept that bottle at home in case anything happened to my dad. I knew if he was dying I had to put that water on his face, or he'd surely go to hell.
I've been atheist now for 6-7yrs now, and my dad is my best friend. But it's easy to be angry at religion for driving that wedge in our relationship my entire childhood.
@Joe McIlroy you're so close. it's ALL built on greed, dear. based on your comments elsewhere in this comment section you are obviously young. you need to read your Bible. no, seriously. actually go and read it. like, do the work. if you do the work you'll get it.
I cried, a little, reading your coment, you shoud make a video or something, this is inspiring stuff.
Thanks for sharing! It is a form of mental abuse. It should be outlawed, but it is difficult to draw the line in a principled way. Surely parents have the right to educate their children. But if the parents are brainwashed that doesn't give good results.
@Joe McIlroy So is most other religion. Why pick on the Catholics?
The absolute craziest thing I experienced was my mother forcing me to go through the two years of "classes" in preparation for Affirmation of Baptism. She said I was free to make my own choices on religion *after* the ceremony. Uhhhmmm... doesn't that kind of defeat ths entire purpose? The whole point is for the person to take over the responsibility of the vows their parents made when they were baptized as an infant.
I have a friend who was in church with me growing up. We both were encouraged to do street evangelism. He told me one day he went to hand out tracts in a gang territory. One person told him, If you were on my turf you’d be dead already. At the time he seemed disturbingly enthusiastic about if that happened going to heaven. While I don’t think he wanted to die he and I had both been programmed to think it an honor to die doing god’s work. Neither of us are Christians anymore but it’s scary how reckless we were as a result of our brain washing at the hands of religion.
We have some problems with gangs in Ireland and occasional gun trouble (or very occasionally people hurt or killed) but as far as I know, our gangs have never attacked anyone for handing out religious tracts ...
I can relate to this even though I've never been a theist. I have a kind of White Knight Syndrome, probably due to the fact that I was seriously bullied as a child combined with my love for mythology, and throughout much of my life I have put my own safety second to that of my friends a especially to women I loved. This need to protect had me fantasizing situations where I'd sacrifice myself for my loved ones, and therefore be on the lookout for a chance to make such a sacrifice. I have no idea how to compare this with the die for Christ mentality, but that mentality led me to illogical harm far too much.
I remember growing up it was ingrained into me that I was born with sin, that coupled with the "be willing to die for him" mentality had a huge negative impact on me. I was incredibly suicidal, but that in itself was a sin. I'm so glad that I was able to find my way, and see that what they were putting in my head was toxic to me.

Although it took awhile (I'm in my 30s now), I'm very glad to be out of the church and to have a clearer mind after all of the brainwashing and emotional abuse.
Wow! Great topic and video.
I'd rather go to Valhalla as my fictional place to go after i die.
'To people not raised in this environment, it might sound weird '.
Might?might?!
Understatement of the century.
Even to some raised in that environment, it might sound weird.
This sounds insane to me and I was raised Christian (Catholic). I don't remember this persecution complex so prevalent with evangelicals. It all seems very cult like.
Man, totally relate with your story. I had to fight my way out myself. The world opened up and bloomed in front of me. Glad I didn’t go off the deep end. The world makes so much more sense now. Keep it up!
This was me too. This totally hit a spot. I have only just found your channel and it is confronting but makes so much sense.
Thank you for your channel
I was raised Baptist and taught about Daniel in the lion's den quite early. My stepmother explained to me very calmly that we would be persecuted for being Christian and even might have to die to avoid having to deny Christ. I was 7. This little story kept me in abject fear for almost a decade before I wised up and realized it was all a crock of horse sh*t.
Even Veggietales taught that story. Not as bad as Noah's arc, but still bad
@@ScripulousFingore6133 Argh. I never watched Veggietales, but now I'm really sickened by the thought of such violent indoctrination by such a cute little cartoon.
Child abuse.
Dying is clearly a lot easier than casting aside your material possessions, giving them to the poor and doing unto others what you would have done to you. It actually is, so I'm not surprised that people would rather die than acknowledge the contradiction.
That is a sharp and accurate observation.
And instead of helping they can just pray for people without doing anything
It was life changing when someone challenged me that it's easier to die a martyr than to live a long and good life. I was like, "Dang it, they're right, and i hate it."
J Loren one problem though... they SAY they would die for Jeeezus, they don't DO it. BUT they often are very vocal about killing others for law and order.
They pretty much all go into hospitals for treatment when they fall ill and they cry at funerals just as much as non-christians.
It's a chique make belief thing to demand martyrdom, but it's only mouthnoises.
Yes life is hard and to be holy is even harder this world makes sure of that. I agree its much easier to be beheaded for our testimony of Jesus than to walk the straight and narrow path but if its hard to live in Christ now that times are good how much harder will it be in times of death and real persecution?
I remember when Columbine happened and the story circulated about Cassie Bernall, who was supposedly asked by one of the shooters if she believed in God, and when she said, "Yes," he shot her. This became such a rallying cry in the Christian community. Sermons were preached about her. Michael.W Smith wrote a song about her. And I remember feeling jealous of her. I absolutely remember the feeling of both being frightened of and looking forward to being martyred. I was absolutely brainwashed 😢
That story still circulates, despite not being true, unfortunately. Eric Harris did ask another girl(whose name I can't remember) if she believed in God, and she said yes. He did shoot her in response, but not fatally. He also did speak to Cassie Bernall, but not to ask any questions. When he spotted her hiding, he looked straight at her and said one thing before firing. "Peekabo." No religious martyrdom.
I too am a former Christian. I was it a State youth convention in high school, and during an intense worship service where everybody around me was opening their heart to Jesus, and giving your life to God, I failed to feel any sort of spiritual connection. Everybody around me was having the most emotional moment of their lives, but I felt nothing. And I realized but the difference between me and them was the chemical imbalance. I lacked enough dopamine to feel like they did.
It's called totalitarian bullying behaviour..
And is vile......
I grew up in my Uncle's evangelical church but became an atheist in my mid 20's. Over his career I'm sure he administered hundreds if not thousands of funerals. When it came to his time to pass I never saw a man that was so afraid to die. He struggled even on his deathbed. I felt so sorry for what religion had done to him.
Interesting. One would think he would have been eager to get to Heaven. It seems there are 2 possibilities: either he had some real doubts, or he did something bad and was afraid of going to hell for it.
Hey here’s my story. Even without religion I am paranoid. It made it only worse that the devil was out to get me, I was also a statue that dared not to be imperfect.
It , expectedly, scarred me when I started to “drift” and I still have scenarios in my mind where everyone is disappointed in me and God is just reading my mind with all his “Holy Saints” besides me. I still feel like I let god down and I’m going to “get it” in hell because I was made for dishonor. That hasn’t helped my reason to live, at all but now, now I blank myself from relatives who I was supposed to convert to Christianity and anytime I see a stranger I bite my lips from being an hypocrite for talking about a god I had foolishly gone against and would as soon as possible, face his WRATH.
I still attend church and act unsuspiciously. I just wanted people to remember me, just in case.
I finally escaped religion myself, and I can relate to what your saying so much. All those ways of thinking that distorted the way I look at the world hits me randomly like a ton of bricks just like this!
When I was a teen around 13/14 I would imagine getting a cross tatted on my shoulder and being in the crusades thinking the best way to die for God would be spreading the word as a templar or something now looking back on it at the age of 24 as an atheist it's a little terrifying to think the levels of insanity left behind
It’s called being delusional, not clinically “insane” but a willingness to hold on to a fantasy/mythology lived as a reality.
Not really it's just brainwashing and indoctrination. Calling someone delusional is not the way to go about it my dude.
Legitimately sad it's 2021 and we're still at this stage of ignorance.
I’m willing to lay down my life for Jesus
Loved this vid!
They're always telling us that Jesus died for us. I would say don't do me any favors. I didn't ask for that. I can't stand the martyrdom. That so called sacrifice actually pisses me off.
The story is he died, was dead for a weekend, rose from the dead and became a god. Where is the loss?
@@ickeausberlin36 the point of his death was to sacrifice himself for humanity's sake, but it was backfired when he got resurrected. You see, a sacrifice is the thing where you die for someone's/something's sake, and as we know that you don't do something then undo it afterwards. So resurrecting him means he undos his sacrifice and the whole point of it was for nothing.
And if he did die for us, then a lot of good it did. I guess he was really just the first in many to die for absolutely nothing!
Pretty sure Jesus was God before the crucifixion
@renzezekieldivida3014 The whole point of his resurrection is that if he had just died without resurrecting than he wouldn't be able to conquer sin. He had to die to atone for our sins but than resurrect so he could conquer sin and death. But that doesn't make sense to me anymore because according to The Bible GOD created SIN when he created Lucifer. Knowing Lucifer would one day rebel and take a third of the angels with him. He created SIN when he didn't destroy Lucifer and the angels and instead just banished them to Earth. And he created SIN when he put The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the center of The Garden of Eden and told Adam and Eve not to eat it. Also if his death and Resurrection conquered SIN why is it still a problem? Why are Christians fighting battles in a war that's supposedly already been won?
"I'm not saying blonde is going to shoot up a night club..."
Give it time.
Great work.
Being raised in this persecution complex and being enthusiastic about dying for it is such a bizarre thing to undo after opening our eyes.
this is exactly why I'm an Atheist.
But I have to add: I'm not feeling sorry for any missionary who dares to bother isolated tribes, sometimes endangered by the mere contact alone with his "good news" and got killed.
The mugshot one is hilarious. Like they would let you hold it in the first place, and you held it below where the photo is taken.
Back when I was in the church, the Left Behind novel series was really big. There was this whole expectation and preparation that we were going to be tortured until we either accepted the Mark of the Beast or were killed. Columbine and Cassie Bernall were still pretty fresh in our minds and she was help up as an example as to how martyrdom should be. But, of course, being kids/teenagers, we all thought that we were so clever and that we'd not only endure all of that but we'd be protected and that we'd survive to see the end of the end times just like the characters in Left Behind.
Sheesh, is it any wonder it took me nearly 20 years to get over all of that brain washing and indoctrination?
Chips lol. How droll, never heard of a cell phone, bank card....social media.
These are the same people who are also convinced that 5G towers are giving people Covid-19.
@@anaperez5442 and that there is a cabal of satan worshipping pedophiles that eat baby brains running the world....kooky #$@%^$#
I grew up in Austria in a catholic family. Now when I think back on it, I can still remember the stories our religion teacher told us about Christians hiding their bibles in Eastern Europe (This was before the fall of the Berlin wall) and how much in danger they are. Only years after I started to realize that Chrstianity doesn't work without a persecution complex.
Hey, thanks! You are great!
I remember when I was growing up and reading the Left Behind series as it came out. This same type of martyr fantasy ran through the whole series and I looked at it in such a positive light, having the same fantasy scenarios in my head. Now that I'm on the outside looking back, I find it creepy and disgusting
As a gay man denying my identity, struggling to be straight, and trying my level best to fulfil a Mormon mission with duty and honor, while at the same time feeling the existential futility of my efforts, not only did I dream of martyrdom, but there were also excessive amounts of risky behavior, depression, suicidal ideation, and literal prayers for the sweet release of death.
I grew up mormon too. I'm sorry you had to endure that.
Much love to you, from one heathen to another (:
You are loved and you don't have to be straight. The anti-gay propaganda based in the bible is from a mistranslation. I hope you will find peace, you deserve it.
@@EpicKate Thank you for your kind words. I have been reconciled with my gayness and somewhat of a gay activist for forty years now. Of course, I have other issues to confront, but now I can address them directly rather than seeing every problem through the lens of sinful lusts. My heart breaks at the thought of the thousands gay youth from religious households who suffer the same pain as I did; especially those who find escape only through suicide.
When I was growing up they said it would be a *number* on your hand and now they’re saying it’s a *microchip.*
Funny how predictions change when they come true
@Sam Bacon yeah i was always taught forehead.
What the "mark of the beast" is tends to change as different generations interpret these archaic passages in the mad man's fever dream called "The Book of Revelations."
@@jeremyn2626 Revelation 13:16 Right Hand or Forehead. Read the bible instead of letting others teach you it.
@Sam Bacon revelation 13:16 Right hand Or Forehead quote the scripture directly.
Love your channel and everything you talk about really resonates with me. I was a Christian who wanted to learn more but the more I learned the more questions I had and how really unbelievable the whole concept of Christianity is.
Sorry I’m unable to donate any money to your patriont account at the moment, I have a lot of medical expenses right now. I’ll donate regularly when I’ve paid off my medical bills. Thanks so much for the great shows.
I attended Skip's church for years. Thanks for your videos.
I was raised in the church and I do think they’re insane.
I can completely relate after spending 8 years in catholic school. I would spend a lot of time fantasizing about martyrdom.
I remember I very uncomfortable lunch in 6th grade eating with the nuns. We were not allowed to look or talk with each other.
Sounds like the Dearborn, MI Ford Motor Co. workers of the 1920s and 30s who weren't allowed to talk to one another when on lunch break by their assembly line machines. Out of line and one of Harry Bennett's (head of security for Ford at that time) goons would give you a stern warning. Though I'm sure it was still worse in a Catholic school with the nuns than at Ford with the goons!
Child abuse.
Love your videos and keep them coming. Truly scary that a religion claiming to be about joy and life is sooo fixated with death. These videos on tiktok are really quite disturbing.
Once again I relate. Your videos are Awesome
I recently read an interview with a psychologist that talked about Conspiarcy theories, why they are so attractive to so many people, how they originate and propogate. What he was totally oblivious too is that his characterisation of a conspiracy theory also perfectly describes religion.
Do you have a link for that interview? Kinda Curious
@@purpletsunami959 Unfortunatly i didn't save the link. Also, the Interview was in german and i don't know wether or not you speak german.
But the link between conspiracy theories and religion is quite easy to see. For a start, just type in "conspiracy theory" into wikipedia, read the article and mentally subsitute the word "conspiracy theory" with the word "religion" and see what happens^^
They want stuff, heaven, eternal life, so they make themselves believe it. Its the same with conspiracies. Its all stuff they want.
Believing conspiracy theories and religious extremism are extremely closely correlated.
Vedic scriptures like Bhagavad Gita explains what true religion is. A practitioner of true religion is the most compassionate person in the world. He will not indulge in any activity which brings miseries to others. Those who are spreading terror in the name of religion are not practicing true religion. They are not lover of God, but they are enemies of humanity. They are religious extremists, fanatics who have no knowledge about God.
I remember wishing that I would be tested with a trial or something so that I could become a real Christian.
Didn’t work, so now I’m gay.
Same here. ...
And honest. ;)
I totally fantasized about it too. It's literally like the only thing that would make my parents proud oof
When I was a teenager my mother told me she had a dream that I was martyred for our faith, and .. this made her feel so proud.
Growing up in that environment I was always told this life is just a prologue to our REAL life with god in heaven. I had fantasies about being killed on an almost daily basis. The only thing that kept me from seriously contemplating suicide was my belief that it is a sin I couldn’t ask forgiveness from so I would go to hell. This life just seemed so pointless and I wanted it to end so my real journey could begin.
Then on top of that I was constantly told that all good things come through god. If I accomplished anything that was viewed as good it wasn’t actually me doing it, I was just allowing god to work through me. If I did anything wrong it was ME doing what satan tempted me to do. It gave me a feeling of worthlessness that I still struggle with after being an atheist for over 4 years.
So yeah, thanks christianity for making 6 year old me feel worthless and that my life was pointless! It has given me psychological scars that will most likely never fully recover from.
So many things from my childhood didn’t turn out to be as big a part of life as I expected: quicksand, people pressuring me to take drugs, and potential martyrdom.
LOL so true! Where's all the quicksand? I feel cheated.
I could use some of those drugs right now
September 3, 2022 and I hear two teens in line at the supermarket fantasizing about an armed robbery and, instead of money, the thieves want to steal their faith. These teens blissfully describe being shot instead of denying Jesus and go into 5 minutes of prayer. The whole store was forced to move around these two who somehow thought armed robbers were there just for them as a test of faith. Amazing.
