That’s absolutely amazing !!!! I’ve always had two minds about going to Greenland but after seeing your video it’s on the list for sure !!! I’m a bit closer in the U.K. so it’s a direct flight to Copenhagen then on to … wherever is available from there ….. that view you got from the boat was just breathtaking and the guy that jumped in the water ?? NUTS ??? Probably okay as he’s a local and used to it. Would have loved to see you go in after him then bolt up o to the sky as it’s so cold for you !! 👌👌🤣😆🤣🤣😎😎😎😎🔥🔥🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
Cannot wait to see where you go after Iceland one of my homelands on my mums side of the family. Hence my name here, translates as Icelander from Icelandic ! Have fun and you MUST try the lobster bisque from the restaurant Sægreifinn it’s in the Harbour area. Most locals know it. Enjoy !

Flew over it many times traveling to Europe, but never stopped. Greenland's people seem amazing and kind. Your excitement, nerves, and journey into the unknown made this video my favorite and I'm so happy you made to Greenland and accomplished your mission. From the dedication this epic journey took, to the beautiful aircraft we see throughout this video, to wonderful and gorgeous Greenland and her people. And to see you achieve your goal, well yeah, you made my eyes water. It was well worth the effort, on every level. Oh, and Katja? What a beautiful, humble and glowing lady she is, and to be so hospitable. Wonderful.

It’s in my bucket list to one day step foot in remote places such as Greenland. It looks so beautiful there, and the people as well as the airline itself seems great too! I’d love to have that plane model part of my plane collection, since it’s a very, very unique airline that you don’t see everyday. But Josh this was such a great video because not a lot of people have reviewed this airline. I don’t even think Sam Chui reviewed this airline yet, I might be wrong though. Even for those that have reviewed Air Greenland already, it wasn’t as comprehensive and consisted of such brutal honesty as this video here. So amazing video Josh, thanks for bringing us along with you on your long trip to Greenland. 😁🙏🏻
I also want to thank you for something else, but this time, it’s nothing related to aviation nor this video at all. More than two years ago I was lucky enough to chat with you while we both played Fortnite. I decided to reach out to you and ask if we could play together after you posted about who wants to play Fortnite with me in your Instagram story. You ended up replying to my comment, and accepted to play a few matches with me. I remember talking about aviation related topics, such as what your favorite airline was. It was great to talk to someone that shared that same passion for aviation that I have, and it’s without a doubt a moment that I’ll never forget for a really long time. It’s such a rare opportunity to play casually with someone like you. I thank you so much for being open to playing Fortnite with your fans, and for playing with me on that day more than two years ago. It was really kind of you, and it sure was a fun experience. Cheers mate. ✈️☁️

You got balls man. We live in a synthetic culture of unbridled, deified individualism, one where one's humanity is destroyed from the cradle, where people are made to feel isolated and powerless. I was treated as a stalker and a creep by the person I loved, someone I knew in real life and considered family. Simply for sending her couple of instruction video e-mails for the music software program I gave her earlier, and some poetry... After that I deleted all my social media, shut my door on the entire society and refused to share even a morsel of my inner world with anyone from then onwards, and now, more than a year later I know that this is final and I'm forever done with not just dating and hanging out but forever done with all informal social interactions in real life. I can't forgive and can't forget. It simply was the last straw.
The only things I have left now is my work, my music and dreams I have every night. And there you are - showing up on someone's doorstep unannounced. Even though it wasn't a person you particularly cared about, - I would never try anything even remotely similar to what you did, because despite my best intentions, there hasn't been even one time in my life when I wasn't treated as absolute utter garbage for doing that. Or even haven't been treated like a piece of trash in response to a genuine compliment with no strings attached. So as far as I'm concerned - you can all have 100% of "personal space" forever without me anywhere in it. Live with what you asked for. I do hope that you aren't a naïve schoolboy and realise that the only conceivable reason you weren't immediately treated like garbage, or didn't have the cops called on you - is because you have a large following in UA-cam.

Josh, this was a really wonderful, inspiring . . . and heartwarming . . . story. You are not only a great blogger, but you are a fantastic storyteller. And you are a guy who makes up his mind to do something extraordinary, and you do it. I really enjoy your reviews. As somebody who travels all the time, I actually rely on reviews to scope out an airline I haven't flown before. You deliver great reviews. But you do so much more than showing the contents of the amenity kit . . . you capture intriguing stories, and capture people at their best (or sometimes at their worst), and it's always intriguing and always an adventure. Your obvious curiosity and intrigue about what you discover is contagious. Keep it up!

What a fantastic and different video...made me emotional too ! Your effort, patience & perseverance is inspiring. Reminded me of something similar on a smaller scale I did travelling unannounced 11800 kms return trip from Muscat many years ago to meet with someone in the UK who was not somehow responding to faxes (yes those days!) & phonecalls ! My effort completely floored him and we became friends for a long time and even stayed him in his countryside mansion my future visits. He too reciprocated in a similar manner travelling to see me when a slight misunderstanding re product pricing/discount occurred. How I miss that personal touch in this electronic age.
Coming back to your video, Greenland is on my must visit places having been to the Scandinavian countries & Iceland several times. Who knows I could be on the inaugural flight on Greenland !! Dreams do come true !! All the best - Dharmesh Sheth, Dubai

I really enjoyed this video especially for the fact that you not only showed the inflight experience of Air Greenland but you also showed what life is like on Greenland.
Even though I am Canadian (and hence share a border with Greenland/Denmark) I did not know until recently that there were people living on Greenland! I just thought it was one big frozen wasteland (stupid me!). I would bet most of your viewers are surprised to see Greenland has a well developed city even if it is small.
Nuuk, although not a large town seems to be a sophisticated town , much more so compared to Canadian towns around the same latitude.
What I don't understand is why they have not extended the runway at Nuuk. With a very modest extension Nuuk could accommodate the A220 which could offer multiple direct flights a day to Copenhagen instead of once a day A330 flights to the U.S. airbase further north. That would have saved you a lot of money on your overnight stay before flying to Nuuk.
As I type this I am watching the developing situation in the capital of Sri Lanka which I know is your home base. It looks like the Sri Lankan people have decided to implement their own "reset" . Look forward to hearing your comments on this situation

The expansion of Nuuk airport has been under discussion for decades, ever since the town still had the Danish name of Godthåb (which is why the IATA code is GOH). But the international airport is at Kangerlussuaq (formerly called Søndre Strømfjord in Danish, or "Sondrestrom" by U.S. pilots, hence the IATA code of SFJ) for two reasons: first, the better weather compared to most other places in Greenland, and second, it was one of the few places with enough flat terrain to build a fairly long airport runway. Despite being next to the sea, the Nuuk area has very difficult mountainous terrain and it's hard to find room to build a decent airport. And as mentioned in the video, Josh was lucky to get sunny days at Nuuk, because the weather there can often be awful.
Still, the current 950-m (3100 ft) Nuuk airport runway is being extended to 2200 m (about 7200 ft), which should be enough for an A320 or a 737 NG or MAX to fly to Denmark, or even to Eastern US and Canada (Nuuk is closer to Toronto or New York than to Copenhagen). However, the frequent bad weather at Nuuk and the difficulty of operating larger planes such as A330s at such a runway will likely keep SFJ open.

    • @kevinkeswick1243
      @kevinkeswick1243 Рік тому

@@goytabr Thanks for the reply! With an extension to 7200 ft Nuuk should be able to comfortably accommodate 737, A320 and A220 and have the ability of direct flights to most major European cities and Northeastern cities in Canada and U.S. With advanced navigation systems the bad weather should not be a problem and if they can't land they can use the larger airport which would probably remain open. This would provide an enormous boost to tourism in Greenland

That lady was extremely gracious when you showed up. I think most people that I know would have said they don’t have time to see you or whatever, which is usually not true. But she was very gracious and extended such more hospitality. Very very good person seems to be from what I saw in this video. And you’re not a, bad person and everyone speaks highly of you. So the fact that those crewmember spokes so highly of her is a testament to who she is and her character. That is awesome. The world needs more people like that.
