While on a 2 week break from school I am getting out every day. I have gone on drives listening to podcasts. Today I am sitting by the river downtown listening to this one! Also walking, saying Hi to people, brought my lunch of apples and grapes. I spent the majority of my life caring for my mom trying to work, single mom, church duties until my mom passed away last year. By then I was running on empty completely my mind, body , soul and spirit collapsed. I am learning now at 52 how to take care of me.
Reading a book, coffee & journing. In nice weather sitting on the deck for hours. My happy place is the beach, early morning breeze and watching and listening to the waves.
I started a 14 day fast yesterday with the church. I also got a message from my doctor with a diagnosis of anxiety, which I knew already but it was never named by a physician. Then I saw this on UA-cam today and tuned in and I'm glad I did. Thank you for Psalms 23 and self-care ❤
This weekend for self-care, I packaged clothes and things and taken them to Goodwill 😂. What a job it felt to let go of somethings that I haven't used or woren for 10 yet😂.I feel wonderful now ❤
My girlfriend & I was talking about SELF CARE on 12.30.24. We have busy lives, but we find time to check in on one another. 1st, the free therapy sessions as we catch up. 2nd, we share our ideas. We referred books to one another that we'll start soon and interesting podcast for our growth (like this one). My circle is small and my word going into 2025 is, "to keep my PEACE."
Confirmation... I'm just now watching this and I'm amazed at how this is right in line with my Full Circle Planner. My seasons, quarters, and first 90-day page are full of behavioral goals: physical activity to show gratitude to God for my body, water routine, sleep schedule, etc. I'm no longer looking for a finish line; I want to finally do the right thing because it's the right thing.
I recently watched someone on SM talk about the overflow vs pouring into. My prayer for the last couple days is that my cup will overflow into my family, friends and others. I'm thankful I found this video, it let's me know that God is listening to my prayers.
This is everything Chrystal! And by the way, my goal is to become a part of the sister circle!❤ Love how in alignment this video was for me. This weekend self care looked like getting my hair braided (can you say freedom?!) Putting sticker gel nails on my nails and toes from Marahall’s total $4.99. Made peppermint hot chocolate and put it in my favorite mug with giant marshmallows. Bought a king silk bonnet for less than $10 to sleep in - feels so good. Went walking in the 69 degree weather & light rain today with my daughter and let her splash in puddles bc mommy needed a walk. Did a stretching for beginners video on UA-cam to get the kinks out of my neck shoulders and back. And I journaled!! Definitely ending my day with going to the Bible app to start your Bible plan Chrystal. Thank you so much!
For me it looks like spending some time alone, in prayer more, sleeping more at decent time, coloring in my mindful coloring book with my google device randomly having a worship karaoke session. Thats what it looked like for me on the Sabbath away from phone unless someone called but no games but more quiet time and prayer. Thank you so much for this reminder! We need self care to be able to care for others. My comfort and relaxation mode is sewing or crocheting or some sort of hand work. Isn't it funny that kids will find you in the bathroom and not bother their father 😊
As an educator on 2-3 week breaks I find baths soaks , soft jazz music sometimes a dress relief candle burning and healthy snacks mainly fruits holds me. Daily walks moments in silence after praying to start my day guides me into my instruction

This is month 6 of my “health sabbatical”. I had to leave the workforce after coughing to the point I couldn’t talk and then to choking. Took the cough syrup, antibiotics, even on a nebulizer…I did “all of the things”…I became too sick to do my job. It’s been a great time of rest, healing, building my immune system. Looking forward to an awesome 2025 😎🥳🙏🏽🙌🏽
This is so timely ! I use to treat myself to a 1 hr massage twice a month But when “ life” became hectic I lost the connection of self-care. Well today I decided to go for a massage and as I was lying on that table taking in all of the “ Yumminess” …. and yes I said yumminess!!! I told myself without feeling guilty ….. This is going back on my calendar starting today !!!! I had forgotten that feeling and it sure feels good to be back !!!!!!

Hello! Self care for me is pampering myself , by getting my nails and my feet done. Also getting my eyebrows waxed. self care is also spending time in my craft room, enjoying some downtime playing with stickers and my planners, after my home is cleaned and is smelling good !

A toxic work environment last year ended up with me having chest pain, 2 abnormal cardiac stress tests, having a heart catherization procedure. *But God* it ended up being a false positive and everything was alright 🙌🏾. All of that was due to stress and anxiety. Thank God for blessing me to be alright. I am going to focus on God and do what i can to better my mental and physical health.
A way that I will incorporate self care this season is journaling and taking a step back and breathing. Thank you for all you do on this platform love listening to you 🙏🏻💕🤗
Sometimes after work, if I don’t need to run errands, I’ll stop at Barnes and Noble for 30-40 minutes. Peruse the shelves for a bit and then break out my Kobo to sneak a chapter or two in of my current book! ❤😊 Then head home to be Wife and Mommy!

I tried to take care of myself by reading a book and listening to relaxing music when I get stressed or anxious. I also tried to take a detox from social media and UA-cam.
I’m so happy I watched to the very end! I needed some help not feeling guilty for what I’m doing at this very moment. It's 12:45pm and I'm still in my pjs and in my bed. I just need a day!🙌🏾
Right now, self care is taking it slow and listening to inspirational podcasts and musical. It is also lying around in my pajamas snuggling with my dog and watching a movie or napping. It is also, taking my time to get to the gym and workout for about 30 minutes and then go home. It’s being around family and close friends. It’s anything that I like and love that I need at that my mind, body, and soul need at that time.
I heard a minister say, Rest is connecting to Source. Source being God. So you can sit in a quiet space and be refreshed in 5 min, because that's all you've got.
For me, self care in this season looks like giving myself permission to take small nap, reading my Bible as I sit down to eat breakfast instead of standing or eating on the go or not at all.
Sitting in the sun (sunrises and sunsets) hit all 3, physically feeling the warmth & knowing I am getting my Vitamin D, my soul feels held as I soak it all in, the beauty, the feels, and my spirit is moved to worship my Creator
Thank you for encouraging me to weave the vacation experience in my daily life. For me when on vacation it’s sleeping and reading. I will fill my cup…being held by getting adequate sleep and reading daily. Happy New Year 🎉

Never too late! Your cup overflowing allows you to overflow into other cups without being depleted.
Self care for me is having a warm shower on a cold day, walking in the woods with the morning sun and spending time in front of the blessed sacrament.
