Ah Sarita, losing a mom...until it happens ...one can't really know... it creates a hole that is hard to explain. you brought tears to my eyes. A beautiful testimony to her ❤

Mercy! 20 mins in I was praising God! Outstanding conversation! I chuckled a little as it seemed Chrystal was a tad quiet as she was worshipping right along with us. It was amazing she could still remember to ask questions! One of my favorites now! Definitely have to listen to over and over again! 🥰

OMG, I think Dr. Lyons is my twin. In my 30s, I had shingles stressed to the max. Then knew nothing about rest like as she said until I was angry. Still growing in this area but much better.
Her book is on my list to read. God bless.

Thank you Dr. Lyons and Crystal for being image bearers of Christ.
I LOVED this dialogue and “real talk”. Your experiences as black women who are followers of Christ need to be heard by the body💜I thank the Father for both of you being centered in the word and led by the spirit. May God continue to bless you both and your ministries.

Thank you for this deep.and multi faceted discussion.
I love what you say about we have to go back to the garden.
God has created us for such a time (and place) as this...
Looking to the past for answers can be yet another distraction from embracing where you and whose image we are created in.
I am Africa and... you are so right that many of the "idols" in the West are as evil but often a lot more subtle than the ancestral worship so common place here.

I was born in the UK 60 years old. At 10 1/2 years old I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. 😀I have been learning all my life to find my identity in Christ and God's word, despite being discriminated against because of my black skin.
I HAVE NEVER BEFORE heard anyone outside of my parents and family (earthly Caribbean origin) speak like Dr Sarita Lyons about black Christian women in this way. THANK YOU.
We are Royalty, children of the King of Kings once we are saved/ born again through Christ Jesus.
I believe that this truth and God's Word should govern my life. For the last 50 years I have believed being a Christian and a child of God, comes above my blackness, gender and culture. ❤😊❤
Thank you Chrystal and Dr Sarita for sharing and going 'there'. ❤🙏🏼
    I'll be buying this book😊

What a therapeutic and knowledgeable session!
God bless you Chrystal and Dr Sarita!!!!
Dr Sarita spoke about Sankofa and it originally from the Akan tribe in Ghana, which means "To go back and get/retrieve".
It's is usually depicted by a bird with its head facing backwards.
Its literal translation comes from the Akan proverb, "S3 wo wer3 fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri," meaning, "It is not taboo to go back for what you forgot (or left behind).

I'm sorry this conversation was complicated for me.😩 I feel the same I don't want my life to depend on race.
I do not focus on these things that cause distractions for me and my mental. 🥹
I do not want to navigate my beliefs in Christ by trying to understand why he created me as a Black Woman. This conversation is so good! I also want to run away from my responsibilities sometimes!🫣🤭😅
I will stop here and just try to soak this episode in.🥹

Love the testimony here, by Dr. Sarita!
I get it, and, there’s no race, color, creed, division, denomination in Jesus! When someone marks, modifies color, black/white, you're talking about the physical, not in The Spirit. So, we should speak for all God’s Daughters!
I know you stated ' those far removed'. I'm not far from Jesus, speaking personally.
And, I've been following your Dad on radio for 3 decades, The Urban Alternative; OCBF, your Family, for many years! No badge required. ❤
