they just basically sign a contract that mcgregor is gonna use some others whiskey as his, and gonna sell it thats it :)
Well it has to be aged for a minimum of 3 years, and it was created 3 years ago. So they released it as soon as it was legally viable.

It’s obviously a blend of whiskeys that meet the requirements for an Irish whiskey. All the whiskeys in the blend have been aged three years. There’s no way mcgregor could have started a whiskey distillery from scratch 3 years ago. He was not rich then.
Sami Folio the reason the number 12 is in the name is because it is the district in Ireland 🇮🇪 where he grew up. So yeah it isn't aged for 12 years if i am correct i think 3 years. But all in all it is a fine Whiskey to drink so they say.
