Removing VW Caravelle Rear Rail Seats

We had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to get these seats out our VW Caravelle, till we looked at the FRONT of the rail system. We couldn't find any helpful UA-cam Videos, so we decided to make one!

Hi. Thanks for the video.
I am looking to swap the two Captains Swivel seats with another 3 seater bench seat similar to the one that is at the rear. Can you simply purchase another 3seater bench and make the Caravelle a 6 seater at the back?
i.e. can the rear bench seat be taken out, rotated and fit in the position of the two captions seats?

Great video thanks. If I was to remove the rear bench seat, could I re-install it backwards? ie so the passengers are facing the rear of the van?

if you have the same rails we have, then I don't see why not. Just be sure to check the laws regarding rear facing seats whereever you live.

This may depend on where in the world the Bus is sold, but here in Germany the Caravelle does not have these Rails but fixed mountingpoints for the seats and benches with seatbelts mounted to the car's frame rather than the seat itself. Only the Multivan and California trims come with rails, swivel seats and seat-mounted belts. I´m guessing this is a UK-version of the Caravelle, am I right?

That is interesting. I clicked through the different models on the Volkswagen UK-page and it seems like the german "Caravelle" translates to the UK "Kombi" and the UK "Caravelle" translates to "Multivan" in Germany. This could explain, why you had trouble finding a YT vid showing how to remove the seats.
