- BLACKPOOL 1-1 LINCOLN CITY | 10 MEN LINCOLN EQUALISE IN THE 94TH MINUTE
Blackpool were looking to win 5 straight games in the League under Steve Bruce but the visitors to Bloomfield Road were Lincoln City and they hadn't lost on the road for 13 games so the early predictions were for a draw.
Blackpool dominatd the 1st half with 79% yes seventy nine percent posession, 8 shots, 4 of them on target to Lincoln's 1 shot 0 on target. Lincoln's keeper pulling off some stunning saves and could count themsleves lucky they were not down to 10 men at halftime.
Frustratingly the scoreline was locked at 0-0 at halftime but nothing prepared us for the drama of the 2nd half, I make these videos to take you on a journey with us, to make you feel like you are there with me so please watch the video to find out, come along with me and Dennis and watch it all play out.
Tonight it was my pleasure to have another former player sat with me as my guest, This time it was the turn of Dennis Wann former Blackpool, York and Darlington winger in the hot seat and he did a wonderful job with is commentary on the game as it progressed.

Hi Dave thanks so much. I try my best to convey the drama of the game as we are seeing and feeling it in the stands so that's good to hear. From a team in more or less total control against 11 we went to pieces as your valiant 10 men threw the kitchen sink at us to only go and equalise in the last minute! It was unreal but yes every credit to Lincoln and all your fans stayed they didn't walk out when we scored. If Hollywood tried to recreate all that in a film you would probably say it was 'a bit far fetched' 😂

That was brilliant Lee , what a top guy Dennis is really enjoyed listening to his take on the game , like he said things were simple when he played the game ,get to the byline cross it and score , I think coaches make the game over complicated now and players get confused ? I think that’s were we will benefit with Bruce he’s old school like Dennis and the players love playing for him , look forward to your next one 👍

Thanks for an honest, unbiased video Lee. As an Imps fan, I was embarrassed at our performance and turned the radio commentary off when you scored expecting you to get a hatfull. What a muppet, I missed the last 20 mins. Steve Bruce will get you in the play offs at least.
Oh no you didn't did you? it was an incredible fightback with 10 men, How we didn't win it and what happened to us in the final 10 minutes especially was hard to believe you were watching but it was always going to be a tough game especially with you not losing a game away for 13 games coming into this one and us trying to do the pretty much impossible and win 5 games in a row. Many messaged me to say they were sorry for us appointing Steve Bruce but so far it has been quite the turnaround.
If we (and you) continue this form we should be up there come the end of the season. Long way to go I am not counting my chickens just yet though
I remember Dennis Wann he was a great player he played for us when I was young a very long time ago. Great idea to get Blackpool stars from the past join you as a guest. It's just a shame we couldn't hold on but how many games have we lost or drawn in the 90+ minutes we should have had 3pts last night....I was gutted. As always thanks for a great video...Good to see that Dennis is looking very well.
I know didn't he look fantastic and so knowledgeable I love meeting these guys, like I said I loved going with my dad for his knowledge and these guys are full of football lnowledge, I hope they take off and do well for them. Absolutely awful to hear of your manager losing his little grandson. I’m a Newcastle fan but I still feel desperately sorry for him and his family. I’m sure he will do a really good job at Blackpool.
Thanks Stuart yes very tragic news and such a shame as he was clearly enjoying his time here so far and seemed to be in a really happy place. I hope that Steve and his family can get through this and he is able to carry on sometime soon we had all fallen in love with him and his football ⚽️ 🧡🙏
Great video Lee! I think we did the subs a bit too early last night. Up until that point we looked very good and then we changed it and it went a bit flat and Lincoln were threatening at goal and passing ball around a lot and then they finally found a goal. At least it was a draw it’s better than a lose. Hopefully we win at Mansfield.

Thanks Connor and yes the atmosphere was much better last night and for me that is all down to the way we are playing, it lifts the energy and gives everyone something to sing about. Shame we didn't get the win but as Dennis was saying to me 13 points out of 15 is a great return if someone would have offered us that when Bruce came in we would have bitten their hand off and that return is definitely promotion form so fingers crossed we can keep this up now, we can't change the past, it happened, hopefully we learn form it, it is gone, we move on, to Saturday at Mansfield, let's see if they can bounce back 🤞🏼
Yea , Saturday is a big big game , Mansfield are going well at the minute in 3rd place but I feel if the lads heads don’t drop after losing points we could go there and get the win , Let’s hope🤞🍊
I'm confident enough to believe that Steve Bruce is experienced enough to tell them to let it go, it's gone, move on to the next game, we can't change what's happened but we can control whats to come. There were lots of positives to take out of the first half and I am sure he will be encouraging them to continue to go out and express themselves and the goals will come

Thought the Lincoln player deliberately charged into Coulson when he was in the air no attempt to go for the ball and this led to his injury.

yep it was poor, just about everything we did for that last 15 minutes was poor, goal kicks going straight out of touch at the halfway line, getting suckered into fouls and giving away free kick after free kick, Carey shanking the ball into the east stand when a simple pass down the wing would have won us the game becaus the throw in leading to the corner would never have happened, defending too deep, not using our 1 man advantage to any effect whatsoever, taking off 2 players when the team had the game under crontol and looked the mostly likely to score the next goal...but it's gone can't change it, hopefully we get a reaction at Mansfield and we go again...

Yeah you have to cut a long story short we broke up and Jane moved seats, I crowd funded her seat next to me for guests, I worked on all her complaints like listening instead of talking and we are back but I raised the money for guests to sit in her seat so this season we are not sitting together and finally I stress her out when she watches football with me (another reason why we split) so she's happy to sit on her own for a peaceful life. Think that's pretty much it 👍🏻
Why didn't Fletcher jump for that ball at the end, he's one of those annoying players who always looks like he can't be arsed, however he does link up well up front but can't hit a barn door when in front of goal,
Tbh Paul I can't really single out 1 player to blame it was a team effort to give the win away in my eyes. The whole of the last 10 to 15 minutes was difficult to understand and watch. The subs were strange especially as they were down to 10 and we were champing at the bit to score another and all over them. Why change it? The team seemed to he in a collective panic, hoofing it, giving away pointless fouls, keeper slicing it out for throwins in our half, can't string 2 passes together etc etc.
I have decided to let it go, it's gone, can't change what happened but I hope we learn from it (Bruce learns from it) and we get back to winning ways tomorrow 🙏

He was great first time round got us promoted to Championship did very well in that first season and left to join Gerrard at Villa. That created a season of problems after he left and we were relegated. He was offered the job to come back and many fans hadn't forgiven him so it was never quite the same. He almost got us into the playoffs and a win away at Reading on the last Saturday was all he needed but he failed to win away because of the cautious way he played away from home all season.
It wasn't really working and 2 terrible defeats to newly promoted sides at the start sealed his fate.
