They've changed the brackets since I last fitted a Velux, some years ago now! The brackets used to be only on the sides, not the corners, and screwed directly to the adjacent rafters, not to the batten height. I guess they call it continuous development. Always amazed at the excellent packaging though.
I know little about this, but everytime I see these in a roof I think a chance for leaks. I am not a construction guy so it may be a naive statement. Rubber seals go on windows, don't they? Anyway, Robin does brilliant work, so I am sure it would last a long time if he was involved.
I enjoy your videos but must point out that the slating over the front apron is incorrect. The positioning of the window MUST be co-ordinated with the coursing of the slates. The slate cover over the front apron is insufficient as risks leaking.
Where’s the fookin underfelt collars? The new velux models can’t be weathered with the underlay because of where the mounting brackets are situated near the corners. Really sick and tired of fixing these types of fook ups when the underfelt collars only cost 30 quid... Rant over
Yes indeed this is vintage footage!! I need to spell that out really too!! The collars are good the Keylite window is also good it has a rip cord type that sets an expanding collar to the timber opening

I had to double up roof rafters either side of the window
How come the flashing doesn't seal against the sub-roof? Wouldn't that be a safer way to seal up the window?
I want this verluxe window inside open or outside opening part please put me message
??
How much with fitting per window
550 x 700 supplied and fitted £500
Brilliant👍😉👍

The roof underneath structure it is wrong, no place for water to run straight down
1:58 "There's a wedge" says Robin. There is indeed, in the brickies' pants worn by the guy on the right!
A black one he says. Must've been on the Guinness.
Prefer keylite windows to fit they come with a expanding seal
My eyesight has deteriorated watching this.

Hi Ben when we fitted these they didn't even sell the collars!!
Mate, all merchants don't. Have to order them in every time
@@ukconstruction how old is this video mate you must’ve only been about 30 when this was made . You look young no grey hairs 😂
Felt collars - that's the old bill, surely? : )
... you forgot to install the insulation framer, which gives you another couple of years of guarantee.
... and you didn't let the frozen distance between the slates and the window
Great but i use silicone under slate just in case .
Robin talks really posh in this video.
This is a very small roof, having 4-10 Velux is just a non sense
Speedy
Yes that is the legendary Speedy! He taught me everything about good slating practice!
This must be well old, very poor quality video and no insulation collar.

Just wait until you fit a "New Generation" one. Instructions are awful. Find a video like this if you can.
