Bravo sir. I knew there had to be something wrong with the joex knife. It couldn't Pierce for piss and broke so easily. Also, there is on UA-cam a land surveyor who said he's been beating the hell out of this knife for years and even showed him hitting it Hammers and even sledgehammers that he said and it just kept on trucking. You have restored my faith in this knife thank you.

I got the bk19 off ebay advertised as the original from a us seller and has the USA stamp. However I learned through research that all models past 2021 do not come with the USA stamp on them. The bk19 was introduced in the 2023 knife/ blade show...😢 I'm so sad I got scammed and I paid 80 dollars for it. I'm trying to return it now.

@mina5es Yep , they don't stamp them anymore . If they use German steel they won't stamp the U.S.A on them. I was totally shocked by this and hardly anyone knows that they switched steel makers.
It's sad that U.S steel is to expensive or not available anymore.

Looks like a really nice knife. The good thing however about being in Finland is they make really good knives here too and the Chinese haven't started to rip the designs off much yet to any great extent.

@@KuukkeliBushcraft I gather that Martinni are having their knives "Made in Estonia".
I also gather that in many such instances the words "from foreign and domestic components" are not legally required. So it might be a simple matter to have blades, handles, sheaths and cardboard packaging all manufactured in the "Far East" then shipped to Estonia to be "Made".
I'm not claiming this is happening with any Finnish brands but I'd bet my eye teeth there's more than one US knife company doing something along the lines.
I know that this is how both Harley Davidson and Zero have their motorcycles "Made in the USA".
Perhaps it started with manufacting Lego in China. Now anything can be a Lego kit made in China.
Alhambra guitars was one I heard about back in Spain when I visited the factory. They have components made in China, such as one part that is a lot like a guitar without any lacquer. They spray on the polyurethane at the factory in Valencia, and glue in the label with "Made in Spain" before installing the tuners and strings.

@@dongkhamet1351 some of Marttiini's folders are made in China. The fixed blades are now made in Estonia with French and German made blades. The company itself is now based in the south rather than it's place of origin wich is Rovaniemi here in Lapland. There axes are made in Italy (probably by Prandi, they look like Prandi axes to me at least). The company now belongs to Rapala I believe. It's all very complicated

@jamesvaccaro4250 Walmart has a spray on paint remover that works the best. There is also a gel like stuff. I think the name is Janko . Both work but ya gotta let it sit and do its job . Don't use an abrasive brush cause you will scratch the steel. Use nylon brushes to clean off the little bits . There's a lot of vids here on youtube...Blackhawk bushcraft just did his coldsteel SRK that would be a good tutorial to watch.

@johnnygunny1 Yep , Kabar stopped the USA Stamp in 2021 . So now all the fake ones being made say USA on them.
They are using German steel now, so they removed the USA stamp. My early version is a Kabar Becker , I received the info after making the vid.

@@airiksknifereviews9548 from my perspective the plot thickens because I follow Joe X's work with great interest and appreciation and it had not occurred to me that something like this might happen to him. Asides from being a cautionary tale, as you emphasize, it's messed up that test reviews like this might be giving a lot of people a false impression regarding thethe real-deal product.

@eugeniovaldez7205 Mine is an early original release just like Gideon Tacticals Vid. Kabar was adding USA and then stopped, I don't know why they stopped stamping USA. People will have to check the dates or code number cause the market is full of fakes now.
I can make another video cause people seem offended or understandably confused.
All I'm getting at is there are tons of fakes and the main tell is the powder coating. It's baked on and probably more expensive to do.
I'm guessing the fake ones lose their stamping if you strip the coating, cause it's most likely not laser printed.
I don't get paid to make vids I'm just doing my best to help knife lovers out.

I live in Korea and I bought this knife. I am very confused. I bought a product from the official importer of ka bar in Korea. It's powder painting. When I removed the paint with a paint remover, the text is engraved on the iron plate. But it doesn't react to the Birchwood cold blowing solution. Like stainless steel.
