Who would think…just discovered this work today and I can’t get enough😵I want a bath full of these beautiful sounds to wallow in, bathroom filled with wings of the harmonies, voices, interactions, echoes vigor and energy creating a magic liminal carpet for a ‘wallow/float’ experience…
Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1947) Piano Trio No.1 in d minor op.49 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_Trio_No._1_(Mendelssohn) 1:09 mvt I. Molto Allegro ed Agitato 10:47 mvt II. Finale; Allegro Assai Appassionato Mischa Maisky, cello (b.1948) Joshua Bell, violin (b.1967) Evgeny Kissin, piano (b.1971)
They hold unchallenged positions as interpreters of Mendelssohn The wonderfulness of their performances is unrivaled, indescribable ,and off the charts
OMG!!!! - INCREDIBLE!, Felix das ABSOLUTE GENIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...... I doubt even Beethoven could have composed this!!! It exceeds all limits!! RESPECT to all and of course to the performers!!
I have watched and heard online about 8 performances of this trio. I think this one tops them all. Each performer is superb, but it's Maisky who puts the performance over the top, especially the intensity of his playing the second (descending) subject.
+Alan Ross I'm not that sure about this performance. I think it's second best of this beautiful trio in d minor by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Just listen to the amazing performance by Rubinstein, Heifetz and Piatigorsky (better IMHO)! :D
I agree Alan Ross. Its Maisky unique romantic and uniquely intense way of producing sound. Even Mr. Rostropovich nor Piatigorsky did not trademark such intense cello playing. I might add it does not always as well, but here it is glorious.
He's over the top and messy. He's the only one of the three sweating like a pig. It's a piano trio, not a rock concert. No reason whatsoever for him to be sweating like that.
Maisky has a unique sound unlike any other cellist I’ve heard. These musicians are superb together, Kissin and Maisky in particular have powerful sound and articulation. Bell sounds a bit pallid to my ear.
Wonderful performance! But...what's with all the pianists who deliberately "misalign" left and right hand, especially in romantic music. Listen to the piano at the beginning of the 2nd movement. What is this pretentious CRAP? Imagine if the violin and the cello were not together on purpose when they have similar phrases!? I am sure Jenya Kissin of all pianists could make enough difference between the hands to bring out a melody without this cheap "trick".
This doesn’t seem to be any kind of problem at all for Bell and Maisky, so who is being pretentious here? No one is forcing you to listen. Have a good day!
This doesn’t seem to be any kind of problem at all for either Bell, Maisky, or the audience, so who is being pretentious here? No one is forcing you to listen. With this attitude, your own playing must be quite rigid, albeit in time! I would never want to hear you perform. I hope you have a good day!
Awful trio. Everyone is fighting for space and voice. Just awful. The piano is too aggressive. The violinist too scratchy. The cellist deserves a better group. They are like loud children all talking and making no sense.
A different version: Great trio. Everyone is in accord and harmonically well-blended. Just wonderful. The piano sensitively blends really well as it should. The violinist is melodious. The cellist is perfectly in harmony as part of the trio. They are like children having fun and making joyful sounds; the sensitivity to each other and to the music make good sense.
Absolutely superb performance

Hermoso! Bravo maestros👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️
What a great performance!
"Kissinger"... wasn't he in politics???
I have more respect for a pianist like KISSIN than for whatever politician!
@@arlettehellemans2117 Close enough... Jajajaa
And did you see Zbigniew Brzezinski turning pages? Marvelous.

A.shame at such a young age. I think he would have produced so many more great musical pieces.
Danke für die Info!
It is no wonder with such artists, but all the same! Great! Bravissimo.
masterful interpretation and execution!!!

you say it right : EACH performer is a virtuos, EACH ONE, never be biased !
Thanks you!!!
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
De allerbeste uitvoering
Marvellous. The top. I wish I once had been in Verbier.
I think this is the best performance of this piece.
Three men are really enthusiastic and absorbed into the music itself.
then listen to Heifetz, Piatogorsky and Rubinstein
Una interpretación propia de magisteres!!!
Incredible energy! A very powerful rendition
A power trio, for sure.
Briliant!
Fantastique !!!
thanks for the post, i'm a big fan of mr.bell :)
The 3rd mpvement is all about the violin and Kissin took over...the finale is the cello...let each instrument shine! Bell did an outstanding job!

How wonderful! How many years?
Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow the tempo of the 4th movement... i've played this trio and I could NEVER take it this fast.
way too fast
@@nickb220 idk i like the tempo- it's very exhilarating
Just a note: This is Trio Piano No.1 by Mendelssohn, the one most often performed and much loved.
Mischa, I love you!
Wahnsinn! Toll!

Magnificient
6:29 wow
awesome
For Kissin this piece is like playing chop sticks!!! Amazing
1:08 1. Molto allegro ed agitato
10:47 2. Andante con moto tranquilo
17:26 3. Scherzo-Leggiero e vivace
21:02 4. Finale -Allegro assai appassionato
In the second movement, that is.
waaaaaaaaa
Melt my heart
effettivamente hai bisogno di qualcuno
Kissin may have set the tempo a smedge fast!! Feeling a bit sorry for the violin and cello!!
♥

Nice
Awesome piece, what's the name. String quartet???

7:03 why lmao
?
This seemed crazy fast to me. Not hard for Kissin to do this, but Maisky and Bell seemed very rushed.
10:38
would you please adjust the site?
lol wtf
Why is Joshua Bell always a sweaty mess
Are You Russian?
Wonderful performance!
