Sadly this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. There are videos on UA-cam that explain in detail how to fix this problem. In short you remove the orchid from its potting medium, trim away dead roots, soak the roots over night in a room temperature black tea solution, then let it dry out during the day, then repeat with a bowl of plain water until the leaves are taught again. The tannic acid from the black tea stimulates the plant. I have done this and it works. Do more research, don’t listen to this guy. You’re not stuck with limp leaves.
I honestly have no idea of that will work or not. If it’s not a rare or special orchid that will sadden you if it dies then I would say go ahead and experiment and see what happens. There are other you tubers who have great channels on orchid care, I would do more research. Have you been watering regularly? Typically it’s either over watering or under watering that causes the leaves to shrivel, but I’ve also had excess sun or insufficient medium or being overly rootbound cause it.
Hi. I maybe blind, but I cannot find the link to the growing guide that you mentioned. Could I possibly have that please? Thanks a lot, and thanks for the video too!
Yep, me neither. Where's the growing guide? How much water? How often? Always better with sphagnum moss? Does it need direct sunlight in the house (south facing in USA, north facing in Australia, NZ, SA, Brazil)?
i have a baby orchid leaf that was tiny for a coupe months, didn't grow, and I repotted with new medium and gave it a solution of orchid food a week ago. Well now that baby leaf is browning. The older big leaves are drooping. It's in a pot under the shade of a big tree. I just watered with tap water and orchid food. Will my plant be okay?
My phalaenopsis have healthy roots but their leaves started becoming droopy and started yellowing from the bottom most leaves just after I brought them home from the store....they were all right in the store....what should I do?
I do have an orchid where the flowers are in full bloom but the leaves are very very soft .I took it out of old medium and found out that a piece of sponge foam was pushed into the root stem .It was just impossible for me to get my hands into the clear bag and feel leaves as it would have damaged flowers .Now I've changed it to water 💦 culture and it's been a week no mushiness no problem but I'm still undecided as to how should I repot it Please help
Thank you for sharing that. I am having a problem that seems a bit more serious. Not only are the leaves limp on 2 of my orchids but they are dropping off. They both had 1 yellow one that dropped off but then leaves higher up starting dropping including new healthy ones. Now 1 of them has no leaves at all. Will the plant die off or can I save it?
Thanx for the info! When I bought mine, the leaves were initially nice and stiff, standing up, and very quickly once i had brought it home, the leaves started drooping very quickly... I may be giving it too much water though... what is the recommended amount to water it?
I have my orchids in the conservatory. The leaves are very limp and have lost the green colour. Is it too hot in the conservatory? Is watering them once a week not enough?
My orchid lost all her pettles so I cut the spike at the base about 2 moths ago. The leaves continued to be a healthy green and I continued to water her once a week but she lost ALL of her leaves. Do you know why this happened? I did stat using an orchid food...
Helo Larry I have a question -I just found out one of the leaves looks like liquid Lite green very watery I did cut it off what could be the problem --?
Thank you so much for this information. I can now relax and stop worrying so much about my plants droopy leaves.

Hi there, my roots look great but the leaves are starting to limp. Can I water it with the tea solution instead of taking it out of the pot?

That said, I wouldn’t recommend watering with watered down tea all the time, as I imagine you could easily burn the roots.
"In short" he said.
Thank you, Luke. You are quite knowledgeable about orchids and other tropical plants.
amourdeparis Thank you for watching!
Honestly, I'm concerned about my phalaenopsis. But hey, this guy's cute!

could repotting my phalaenopsis cause the leaves to drop? I've had my orchid for two years and it's always appeared to be very healthy.
I have a pot with howls for my orchid is this ok.

What is the difference between reversible and fixable?
Where’s the link?
