Here is a synthesized version of "I've Been Tricked" from Disney's Snow White. It follows the movie version, but I tried making it sound as close to the original soundtrack, thus there are 2 extra measures. This took the whole month of February of 2019 but was shelved for three months until I went back to making multiple final edits.
Every Instrument uses EWQL Gold Symphony Orchestra.
Thanks for adding some of the concept art and storyboard pieces. They put so much more personality into the Queen than the time constraints on the final picture would allow.
2:51 I used to listen to this whenever I had to take medicine when I was sick. Made it feel more dramatic than it was

Excellent, truly beautiful! ❤️ My favorite part was when The Queen transformed into The Witch, simply beautifully tuned!
Queen: My voice! (sighs) My voice! (laughs) A perfect disguises. (laughs again)
Magic Mirror: Snow White still lives, the fairest in the land. 'Tis the heart of a pig you hold in your hand.
The heart of a pig! So I've been tricked!
This was a great scene
"A perfect disguise hahahaha"
Thank you!
Mummy dust, to make me old
To shroud my clothes, the black of night
To change my voice, an old hag's cackle
To whiten my hair, a scream of fright
A gust of wind, to fan my hate
A thunderbolt, to mix it well
Now, begin thy magic spell.
Wow! Great job! This sounds amazing!
Magic Mirror: Over the seven jeweled hills, beyond the seven fall, in the cottage of the seven dwarfs, dwells Snow White, fairest one of all?
Fantastic job. The transcriptions are excellent and you have certainly analyzed all of the intricacies with great attention! As a burgeoning professional musician, my primary specialty is oriented in guitar and voice performance, but I do like to pursue my passion for composition quite often. As I am currently working on my master's degree, I must remain focused, but I am curious to know how you transcribed this? (i.e. By ear, or score reference?)
There is a reference score, but it only includes the melody. Most was done by ear. Other things that were not included in the reference score were articulations, voicing (instrumentation), and special instrumental effects (trumpet mute sounds during the potion making sequence). Other tracks such as Pleasant Dreams and I'm Wishing/One Song were all done by ear.
@@ambervale6172 All fascinating to know. Did you happen to refer to the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs "Master Score" which HalLeonard released nearly six years ago? (I would only presumably suspect this would be the case.) I have heard about this score and am interested in seeing it (along with a whole other slough of early Disney scores, if possible.) Nevertheless, your work on these transcriptions is excellent. I am currently taking a film scoring course for credit in my master's program; with the knowledge and skills I am gaining from this course, I hope to occasionally secure gigs as a professional film scorer upon graduation (and possibly do further research into early film scores.)
@@liamvance8328 The reference score is indeed the Master Score. It's really useless, being full of typos. Sometimes you'll get confused which clef the notes are written in. In my opinion, it takes a lot more time to decipher the Master Score than to rearrange.
@@ambervale6172 I understand your point about taking time to decipher original scores. I can relate this to my experiences working with fragments of Max Steiner's score to King Kong. Of course, I am completely new to film scoring so time and patience will certainly be mandatory. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is definitely one of my favorite film scores! Thank you for sharing your work.
Wow
Queen: Magic Mirror on the wall, who now is the fairest one of all?
Queen: The heart of a pig! Then I've been tricked!
Queen: The heart of a pig! The blundering fool!
Very good job congratulations, can you make a piano version of this scene?
What you see on the video is a condensed score. Making a piano version of this scene would be extremely difficult because it would be difficult to capture the sinister tone of the original piece. The tremolo at the beginning would be oscillating high notes, and at the part where the queen goes down the stairs, the woodwinds are actually just playing half-steps but every first note is accented while the lower note is lifted. These are just examples where certain techniques of the orchestra are untranslatable to piano. Likewise, when I played the condensed score back on piano it sounded very unpleasant during these scenes. It isn't that I haven't made one, it's just that it sounds bad.
