Simply beautiful. Patton is surely the best vocalist in the world.

Here are the lyrics taken from the booklet:
    You came ashore
    Crying folklore
    Eggs in the sand
    Blood on the sheets
    Racing heartbeats
    Waiting for them...
Crawling back to the sea of Dostoevsky
    Now we must wait
    for the babies to come
    Here they come...
    Hidding in the sun
    Mermaids seduce the drunks
    Watercolors on cracked skin
    Recognize your footprints
We are born in the tidal caves of Assassin´s Bay
    This haiku
    Will promise you
    A death parade
Put a shell to your ear
    and you might hear
    the sound of me
    It´s a grave-digger´s song...
    In Assassin´s bay
The voice that sings your name
    Deeper than a sinner´s faith
Shaping breath with its black lungs
    Infant lords run
We were born in the tidal caves of Assassin´s Bay
For those who dare to love
    You will never go
    Wihtout me
    Silent ritual
    Magic spectacle
    In death´s parade
    It´s a grave-diggers song...
    in Assassin´s Bay
    As the sea-foam stovepipe moans
    the hourglass plays alone
Melt a heart of bone with this lava flow
Put the shell to your ear
    and maybe you will hear
    the sound of my love

    the sound of me
    its a ??? song
    assasin´s bay
    ....assassin´s bay.....
for those who share the love
you will never go without me
    sadic ritual magic specacle
    in deaths parade
    yes im ? this song
    in the assassin´s bay
    ....assassin´s bay.....
    as the sea foams
    stone popa moans

I must say that Medeski literally ruined this piano piece. Rob Burger's original version is a soul-stirring, heart-tugging masterpiece.

    • @richidpraah
      @richidpraah 3 роки тому +3

It's obviously rewritten for voice + band, yet it still retains much of the original.. seems a bit "the piano understander has logged onto the chat"-edgy to call it "literally ruined" but ok
