My step dad is in his 40s and I just found out today he is in hospice for medical reasons and it's sad to lose your loved ones due to different medical conditions
Hospice in our situation was not this way. My grandma was in hospice care and not even allowed an IV because that is considered to be “extending life”. She basically died of dehydration as a result because she could not drink on her own. This is in Minnesota not sure if it’s different in other states or clinics.
I called 911 to get my grandma an IV and they are so pissed at me and I don’t care I’ll do it again shame on them dehydration is a very painful way to go
I guess it's different by state here in Phoenix my great grandfather is under Hospice care and he has difficulty breathing and they allowed him to use oxygen with no issues so I don't know why they wouldn't let her to have an IV
Im sorry for your experience with hospice. Its my understanding that people who are actively dying dont have the ability to swallow. Their bodies don't need or want the liquid. It could cause choking. Gentle swabbing of the lips and tongue is all they really need. And a little lip balm will help with dryness. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss. I know how hard it was to watch.
My foster mom is in the hospital and in hospice care. Cause she just had a stroke a week ago . I got a call from my foster sister . They’re just working on getting her in a facility so they can do OT and PT to try to strengthen her . Cause she lost use if her left arm and leg . Her whole left side really
Hospice does'nt cater to cultural differences or specialized needs. Families are responible for that unique care, and the expense it will come out of the care taker's pocket. Hospice is medicare not medicaid. Medicaid is different in every state and can take up to 8 months to get services.
My grandma just got on hospice care today because of her heart problems. So she doesn't need to go to the hospital all the time when she can't breathe...
I was naive about hospice in general or just too trusting also in general, but not anymore. I have a loved one who has Alzheimer's and was recovering from a surgery procedure and needed help to take care of my loved one until my loved one healed. During the last eight months we have went through three hospices. Only one was fair and one kept scaring my loved one that she was dying against my wishes to do this and one is the most twisted of all. Let's just leave that at that.
@Endrina Villegas Yes we have aides but they are usually only in your homework about an hour. Noone stays 24/7. Ee can help you find agencies if you need help.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV, Jesus Christ is the only way....
My mother is in hospice care at hospital...she live 23 years in california.my sister brought her back to our hometown.the sad part is.she never told any of the family. She never answered phone calls.. she finally answered the phone when I change my phone number and she didn't know it was me.. two days later my mom is in hospice care at the hospital...why she didn't want her own family to know . With Covid-19 we probably won't be able to go visit her..All we can do now is pray for my mother..
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍🤍🤍🌈🌈🤍🤍🤍. Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 🤍
