They all brag about how good they are, that's a big part of wrestling, and a big reason why it's so fun. Punk talks about how he's Best In The World, Cena brags about being the most hard working, Curtis Axel is 'better than perfect' etc.Yet Dolph gets the most heat about staying in character. You know what? Its not showing off if you can back it up!
I love how he can confidently say he hates John Cena. Props to Dolph! I doubt that there would be any other wrestler in the roster that would say that out loud.

Personally, I pontificate there to be a slight contradiction in terms, when one labels Dolph as 'fake' before then moaning at him for his resentment of Cena. If Dolph were to be one of the dishonest, acting type, he would not publicly enunciate his resentment of the chosen one. I personally perceive Dolph as conscientious, confident and indeed combustible, not to mention immensely impressive in the ring. Someone please explain what Dolph has still to develop. Physique ? Risk-Taking ? Attitude ?

As a child obsessed, and now a casual adult fan. I must say The Rock got me watching again and Ziggler is keeping me watching.
Dolph is Dolph, but he is honest and explains himself, good or bad. Love it. It's not over the top to say he's one of the three top technical wrestlers in the wwe. Him and Ceasero are a couple of the actual wrestlers whom can pull their weight in the ring and on the mic, respectively.
He's really good at playing his character considering all the comments.

They're probably my favourites too. I love The Shield, but I can't wait to see what Ambrose can do on his own. Reigns looks to have a bright future too. I've not seen enough from Rollins to suggest he could be anything better than a mid-carder. Cesaro is easily the most under-appreciated talent on the roster. His stiff wrestling style is very realistic and the man has such raw power. To swing a big guy like Titus O'Neill for almost an entire minute is no mean feat.

I liked Dolph, but when I heard he was a little rough in bed, it made me like him more. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm more attracted to him now. Anyway, I like how honest he is. People say he's in character, I don't think he is. He made a point of saying that he's not in character on Twitter and that he's himself and gets in trouble for it. Besides, even if he was in character, I don't think he would bad mouth the company that employs him unless he really was upset.

Ambrose is by far my fave out of the Shield, his mic skills are freaking amazing and he has a different style of wrestling that I love. Reigns will probably go the farthest (because of his build, you know how Vince likes big guys). I like Rollins and so do a lot of internet wrestling fans, he's as good of a seller as Ziggler and he puts on great matches with Bryan. And yeah I hope Cesaro gets a WHC push

And guys, that was NOT a top 10 all-time pop. Not only do Rock and Austin have a combined 20+ louder pops in their careers, but each have gotten louder pops in the past 3 years. Punk has had several, esp at MitB, Bryan a few weeks ago, Jericho (and Goldust) at the Rumble this year, plus his WWE debut, Nash at the 2011 Rumble, Bulldog at SS92, Bret during a Shawn promo in 05, Triple H in 02, not to mention 100+ Hogan pops including an ovation on Smackdown that was literally 15min long when he first turned babyface a decade ago. That Dolph pop may not even break the top 100.

I have to say I am in the same boat....was impressed by his honesty and he is a lot more charming than I thought ....I used to think he was around for the older women like V.G. to come see a porn star wrestle ; with the bleach blonde hair all greased back I just thought he was *a greasy porn star * . Lol @ Dolph's "follow that!" line... Does this guy really think he's a better wrestler than Bryan, Lesnar, Punk, etc? Tyson Kidd is a great wrestler, but how many classics has he had? And how many has Dolph had? For all his mega-fans, not one of them n name a classic Dolph match. And he's been given the means to do it before. Dolph, I like you, but you are not Shawn Michaels, nor are you Ric Flair.
First of all no one is the next Austin, Rock, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels etc. that kind of comparison is getting kind of annoying. They are all themselves, there can only be one Rick Flair and there can only be one Dolph Ziggler. Dolph is probably the person who least wants to be identified with anyone else but himself. Personally i think he's better than Punk wrestling wise, he has larger arsenal of moves that he displays and he sells better, charisma/connection with the fans wise he has long way to go to get to Punks level. Don't get me wrong i love Punk but he definitely isn't the best in the world, Dolph isn't either and he acknowledges it, he said that Kofi is more talented than him in an interview. Actually right now Dolph is in the same position/place where they stuck Punk few years ago and had him there for years.
The big diffrence between Ziggler and Ryder besides the obvious- skills, is that Ryder had his 30 seconds of fame before the fans got bored of him whereas they still chants Dolph's name and demand him on main events even after almost 7 years since he has adopted his Ziggler persona.
ClassifiedBombshell Well for one, I don't think the fans "got tired" of Zack Ryder. I think the WWE systematically destroyed everything that got him over, while burying him on TV. They ruined Z!TLIS to the point that Zack cancelled it, and that was the basis for everything he went on to do. Dolph may be struggling to reach main event status, but he was never taken off TV for 9 months. He is SUPER over with certain crowds, but I don't see a sea of Dolph shirts in the audience (probably because he's done a terrible job of marketing himself and making that 'identity', brand-wise, that a star needs. Ryder even has him beat in that department).
As for Dolph being a better worker than Punk... no. Just no. I absolutely disagree with the notion that he's one of if not the best seller in the WWE. A good sell looks REAL. Nothing Dolph does in the ring looks even close to real. Not a single move he does. And his selling is too over-the-top. He sells like Michaels did in the joke match with Hogan, but Dolph does it seriously. And honestly, his selling is a big part of WHY he's a mid-carder. If you sell for Tensai like he's the Undertaker, you're never going to get a match with the Undertaker... get what I mean? And as far as moves, Punk has a very deep arsenal, but he's a smart worker and he does what he knows works, he does the moves that are over. That's how you get a reaction from the crowd... that's how you WORK. I would like to see him bring back the Devilock DDT and the Pepsi Twist, though. Also, Punk's finishers are OVER and BELIEVABLE. The Zig-Zag... really? Not only is it a lame name that 6yo niece would give to a guy named Ziggler's finish, but it's just a stupid move. Can you picture The Undertaker or The Rock being pinned by the freaking Zig-Zag? No, you can't and if you say otherwise, you're lying. Anyway, I don't think Dolph sucks, I just think he's heavily overrated by the internet fans, and while they may think he's ready to be a star, I personally think he's 3/5ths of the way ready, and after 10 years in the business, that's not good progress. 10 years in HBK was the undisputed best wrestler in America, 10 years in Austin was the undisputed biggest draw in history. I'm not saying he needs to hit THAT level to be successful, but again, I'm just saying he's maybe 3/5ths as great as everyone says he is. I could spend another paragraph writing about what IMO would bring him to that next level, but I've already typed so much so to keep it short--- the selling, better, more believable moves, work on his promos, and as JR says, "maximize his minutes"... when WWE finally lets him cut another promo on Raw, KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK. He's never done that once, and again, 10 years in, it's about time he does. But I'm not anti-Dolph, I'm just not as high on him as most.

NO SHIT Dolph hasn't had all that many top tier opportunities. And his one memorable "main event" match, the one vs Del Rio with the double-turn, was fantastic. 4-stars, in my non-Meltzer opinion. SO WHAT? I just went really deep into my personal opinion on Dolph's work in my reply to ClassifiedBombshell so you can just read that, but in that comment I write about "maximizing your minutes". Unless you're Triple H's boy, you don't get too many opportunities just handed to you. There's a reason why CM Punk was getting promo time way back in 2008... because when he was given the chance, he capitalized and knocked it out of the park. Dolph is yet to do that. You can make excuses about being paired with Vickie, not being given the chance, etc, but at the end of the day, he's not living up to expectations. He's been in the business for a decade, and he's been Dolph Ziggler for what, 5 years? And how many great promos has he cut in that time? Exactly. He's not terrible on the mic, but he isn't great. He's also not marketable in the slightest, and has no sense of how to brand himself, which is a big part of what draws money. His finisher isn't over and his selling is cartoonish. But again, just read the other comment I just posted for further elaboration. In conclusion: NO SHIT, you have to be given the opportunities to have those legendary moments, but every time they give him the ball, for one reason or another, he fails to carry it. Some of it is bad luck, but at the end of the day, if you chalk it ALL up to that, you're just making excuses. Also, I'm quite educated, so before you jump to conclusions, condescend people you don't know and come across like a total d-bag, maybe you should consider that not everyone thinks the way you do, and that it doesn't make one way of thinking superior to the other. SC Smith Many grew bored with Ryder's gimmick even before they 'buried' him, and forgot about him very fast after that. If the wwe universe had demanded him the way they demanded Bryan, he'd never get 'buried'. Some of the most over champions in the industry have stupidest finishers, the people's elbow, knuckle shuffle, it's even embarrassing to pronounce them. Fun fact one of the best technical wrestlers in wwe now Bryan(i still think Cesaro is better) and the most over wrestler right now also tends to over-sell and that obviously gets with people. He'll sell Santino's closeline, as if he was selling to JBL or Big Show. Let's take The Rock for exaple, now he was really selling over-the-top, i mean every time Stone Cold stunned him he looked like he was having a freaking seizure, and people loved it.
Wrestling is fun my friend, or at least it was all about fun before the internet smarts marks started popping out, and i think Ziggler is hell of an entertaining performer, and he's got the heart, i mean that incredible missile dropkick, and all of the crazy shit he did at rumble only a week or two after going through concussion. I'm a Ziggler fan, and I'm offering what I feel is constructive criticism that will get him further. Sure, Daniel Bryan sells a lot, but the "we want Ziggler" chants are nothing compared to the "yes" chants. Sure, Rock oversold STONE COLD's finisher, but I bet he wouldn't even take a bump for Santino's Cobra. Again, all I was doing is pointing out areas where I think Dolph needs to improve.

I absolutely support Ziggler. He's one guy that at times I can truly despise but at other times; truly love. Which is a rarity. This dude has got it all. Call him arrogant, or confidence, whatever because at the end of the day, he silences the critics with his ability TO BACK IT UP!
I remember when he was just relegated to making backstage appearances, introducing himself, & attempting to shake hands with superstars backstage. Then there was the breakout match on Raw against Batista, where he just went off, which was awesome.

Ziggler will get the push soon. Another name that deserves the push is Daniel Bryan. Now they are pushing him. He will have a match with Cena at Summerslam. I saw some matches between Ziggler and Bryan. The matches were absolutely incredible. Future main eventers.
To me, Dolph is the Curt ‘Mr Perfect’ Hennig of today if they tweeked his character just a tad!
Dean Ambrose is different. He has an aura. An intensity. I think Reigns has it too and he will almost certainly be the next Batista. His spear (I consider it more like a gore, but whatevs) is one of the best I've seen. His one against Ziggler last Smackdown was terrifying (maybe down to Ziggles' awesome selling?) As for Rollins, I feel like he's the forgotten member sometimes. His selling is great though. His voice is bitchier than Ziggler's however, and that's saying something!

Shawn is an amazing heel not only does he held one of the best Promos ever in Montreal 2005 but if you ever saw his Promos back than in the 90's you would know that no matter how good he is in the ring nobody will ever perform on the level of Shawn Michaels.

His mic skills are borderline comical at times but at least his in-ring work is pretty clean. He's also quite quick and agile for a bigger guy. It's funny though - Everybody keeps talking about Big Show turning on Triple H, but I think it should be The Shield. We need a face turn so their characters can be fleshed out a bit more. "Believe in The Shield" is starting to get a little tiring now.
He seems like such a cool dude to hang out with, lol.
