    Another UA-cam video mentioned that you can install a 25mm thick case fan by using a right angle molex adapter, he didn't show how to do it though, do you think it's possible?

    nice idea man. I have a n4 jonsbo and the rear fan is really terrible. I am gonna add try and add a 140mm like this,

      Yeah, those 2 non-hot swappable drives on the side get zero air with them out of the airflow path and with all the PSU wiring there. I'm (slowly) editing my N4 review and I wasn't impressed over the N2/N3. :P

    I built a blue iris machine in this case with a i9 12900k and 5 22tb hard drives 😂I just slapped on 2 fans that run at 5000 rpm because it didn’t matter if it sounds like I jet engine it just had to be tiny😂

    Curious how old your amano are. :)

      Young! I've only had them a couple months and they were super tiny when I got them. They've gotten really big, really fast - the female even had eggs goin'.
      At least I don't have to worry about babies since they need backish water to actually develop.

    But Fan PWM is controlled by N2 Backplane?

    • @PeterBrockie
      @PeterBrockie  5 місяців тому +2

      No. The backplane is full speed only. Just connect the fans to your motherboard or a fan controller if you don't want full speed. :D

    Simply use right angle SATA cables and you can install a Noctua 15mm fan without problem. That's what I did

    A Chinese company appropriates a Danish surname...and doesn't even use that name in the UK...

    Why even bother with the grill? The odds of your fingers from inside the case hitting a running fan is nil. .

    • @PeterBrockie
      @PeterBrockie  6 місяців тому +4

      I think think it looks better on the outside, and on the inside it helps with keeeping the SATA and power cables out of the fan - especially if you're moving the case around a lot.

      @@PeterBrockie good point. I probably only move my servers about once every 3 years, and they're usually off

    • @PeterBrockie
      @PeterBrockie  6 місяців тому +3

      @@SimonTekConley It's not so much about moving them when on, it's that you can move a server around and a cable inside moves and you power it up to a fan grinding noise. It's not common on a PC or a large server, but on smaller cases I tend to lean on the side of securing everything or at least covering fans.

    Nice mod. Pretty simple.
    I've done this with a SFF office PC.
    Also turned into a kind of hot-rod for my ex. (had a Mad Max vibe to hit, after all the weird stuff I did with it lol bitch hated it)
    Everytime it turned on, that top 80mm fan did a kind of 100% jolt. And then back to normal. Like an engine revving. idk why
    Can you tell me what motherboard that is though? With 4 ethernet ports?? ooooh! 🧐

      Running a simple motherboard which has 6 SATA ports (albeit from a 3rd party controller on the motherboard). Seems to work well so far. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805460202704.html

      I'm running proxmox with pfsense+plex+pihole+truenas+plex AIO.
      That board seemed interesting for it.
      But that cpu doesn't seem interesting for it lol
      Pretty cool board though.
