Great part 1, and the anticlimactic statement as a fighter jet flies overhead was perfectly timed. Looking forward to the testing.

I definitely enjoyed part one love how you explore the inside of it and just with my eye too it kind of feels like it's all like slapped together but always enjoy your videos I can't wait for part two when you start putting it through its paces and to see what it actually does and how it performs. Hopefully it performs better than what their other welders do hopefully it puts out the power that they says it's supposed to but we'll see on part two.

Awesome video and based on your review, I did order the YesWelder.
However, due to very poor customer service and with the errorously charging and fraudulently collecting a city sales tax which I am not required to pay, I cancelled my order and YesWelder is providing a 100% refund. YesWelder customer service refused to refund the fraudulently collected city sales tax and stood their ground on ignorance and laziness, and "relying" on their "system" to "automatically" charge for said taxes.
PSA: I do recommend for those who have made a purchase with YesWelder to double check their invoices for accuracy of all charges. I live in the county, not the city limits, and therefore I am not required to pay a city sales tax. For charging me a city sales tax was in error. This information was in fact confirmed by me calling the "City" revenue department.
Not only did YesWelder lost the sale because of the fraudulent collection of city sales tax (in my situation), they lost a customer and any possible repeat sales.

New subscriber. I appreciate how you break down the pros and cons of the systems you test! Do you think you would be able to break down the Yes Welder foot pedal and post a color coded wiring diagram of the 5 pin connection between the pedal and circuit board? Thanks

Thanks for this video. I also wish they provided lift tig. Bought it to rebuild rocker panels on my car. Not sure I can use it because of HF start.

HF causing damage to engine electronics or the ECM is probably unlikely. But it's hard to be sure. And when I did a bit of welding on my Jeep, I used lift start, just in case. Technically, they say the electronics should be disconnected before any welding, but I figured HF start would be extra risky.

Can you make suggestions on how to improve this after the fact or like mods

all in one was a bad idea for me, longevity plasma, tig stick AC/DC output, one failed feature can kill the whole machine.
Mine finally blew up after 10 years so i got the mig 205DS.
It was an expensive lesson, if you want plasma its better to buy a dedicated machine and have the shop plumbed with a separate compressor. In 10 years I only used the plasma once, it worked very well but was a wasted expensive feature.

What other welder compares to this that you could recommend

I haven't tested the AC/DC TIG on the CT2050 yet (hopefully this weekend). Personally, I would decide which process is most important to you and get a good machine for that process.
The CT2050 and MP200 are unique in some ways and priced low considering all the "processes" they can do. But both of them make concessions and have bizarre issues that bother me. Will some people be happy with them? Probably. But the issues are such that I have a difficult time recommending them (especially the MP200). Unfortunately, that doesn't mean it's easy to come up with a direct alternative option. Because the built-in plasma cutter is an uncommon feature.
I don't want to make a final determination on the CT2050 until I finish testing the TIG modes, but as it stands, it's a mixed bag. Some simple and effective hose fittings on the back, and a bizarrely chosen argon fitting. Surprisingly decent plasma cutting with internal compressor and a stick mode with non-working/improper features.

@@bigtb1717 my background is I'm coming from a 15-year-old Lincoln 140 amp and I use flux core I'm a backyard hobbyist that just wants something to learn on well they would having to buy multiple units

What process are you wanting to learn? Most people really don't need all processes.

@@bigtb1717 I want to be able to have the ability to do mig as that's what I know but I wanna learn the art of Tig welding I find it absolutely fascinating but I've never done it I also want to have the ability to plasma cut I was initially intrigued with the mp200 but because of its lackluster in quality features I would much rather spend the extra little bit of money and get the 2050 because it has a bit better kit and because I'm new to a lot of processes I won't be as fussy because I don't know what is good or great I just want to be able to get something that I'm not going to regret or wish I had have gotten something better without going out and getting the best of the best because I'm not a professional but I'm enthusiastic about the trade overall

Be aware, the CT2050 doesn't do MIG.

    Price?

    • @bigtb1717
      @bigtb1717  2 роки тому +1

The "regular" price is supposedly $2,000. It was half that during the Kickstarter and now that the kickstarter is over it is on "sale" for around $1,200.
