- I would say it's time for another Beast Tribe video but honestly Moogles are so iconic in the Final Fantasy Franchise that I'm surprised I didn't do this soon. But here it is! I hope y'all are ready to dance and singer with this fuzzy little critters!

Ah, Moogles. The (indirect) source of the most eloquent, poetic quote in the game...
PISS OFF, KUPO!!!
Furry little shites :>
The moggles is one of the reasons I like the gridania game start the moggles coming in and one talking to your character the other taking the merchant's wine it shows just how mischievous they can be.
Too bad the rest of Gridania sucks
I know I love that too
Omg I remember that! I first started my game in gardenia but ngl I love limsa more so the 2nd time I gave it a try for gameplay reasons if nothing else "I am the evening stars. I am the evening morning sky. I am born of the sea And there I shall die." Plus Merlwyb is such a badass and I loved ever scene she was actively the focus or voiced.
watching a moogle slam back an entire bottle in one go is like the main selling point of starting in gridania
"If you've met a group of Moogles in one place, you've essentially met them all."
Now now, I recall the Moogles discussing how one group put emphasis on the "Ku" in "Ku-po" while the other put the emphasis on the "po". I think it was the quests that led up to the Moogle tribe quests.
Not the Moggle tribe quest, but a quest called Moogles in the Sky (think you pick it up in Ishguard) where the Gridania Moogles go to meet with the Churning Mist Moogles. It is where they learn about that and how lore from both communities actually align
I'm thankful to Good King Moggle Mog XII for blessing us with these floofy balls of aether 🙏
Starting in Gridania and having never played a Final Fantasy game before, my first reaction to these mischevious fluffballs was shouting "WHAT ARE THOOOSE"
I feel like if I was in FF14 world I would be a moogle.
On serious note, I am not sure how you do it but somehow you release lore on subjects I never thought I'd be so invested in.
The second universal favourite. First being chocobos. Third being lalafell. What a perfect video.
That shot of the dragon and moogles vibing was the best thing I've seen today, thank you.
Moogles know how to live
Think my favorite little bit of in-game WoL characterization was that moment in the shadowbringers patch quests that reveal that the Wol speaks moogle.
Wait, this was a thing?
Now that you mention it, it SEEMS familiar, but I don't recall it exactly. Was it when you talk to the Hunt people?
No, it's when you deliver the archon loaf to Thancred.
@@ViralN9 holy shit, Y'shtola can loaf?!
It is truly fascinating how little to no differences there is for the story of their Good King. You'd expect at least some drift in the story or them to make it more epic but no always a cup of wine and flee. With how many of them are Bards you'd figure there would be some tails of the good king holding more then a rope but him battling to protect his people. Makes me wonder how alike the moogles of the other shards are. And will we see void moogles during our time on the 13th.
Would be interesting if the void moogles turned out to be Imps. Imps have a penchant for mischief and Moogles love their pranks. :3
Watch void moogles be completely uncorrupted and are simply jailed and eaten by voidsent lol.
Aw, you missed the chance to say "Stay safe, kupo!"
Why fight when you can just not XD.... Moogles are adorable and probably the best assassins if they put their minds to it....
We're lucky such a broken ability is kept by such a lazy and adorable race.
Every video is the scribe putting off trying to explain the 3 time loops in the Alexander raids
*nosebleeds in space/time paradoxes*
I mean... do /you/ want to try to explain that mess? I went though it and only got three parts while knowing I'm still failing to place more.
@@korimiller379 Oh understand it. I just don't like it when time travel is used like this. Makes such a mess that'll never be entirely cleaned up....
@@korimiller379 I don't want to try to explain it. However I do not make it my job to do so unlike the poor professor lol
7:53 exhibit b) Sid. Yes, with an S.
"Go punch a moogle for me would you?"
Me, queueing up for the Good King Moggle Mog trial: "Sure thing, bud!"
When I first started playing FF games, the first one being Tactics Advance, I was introduced to moogles and seeing moogles in this version was a bit of a change for me.
I think the FF12/Tactics moogles are my favorite design personally. They're cute and still manage that rugged FF12/Tactics art style!
Fully agree. The Moogles of Ivalice are awesome, while the ones from Eorzia are… disappointing.
Though, none can beat Mog from FFVI.
I've always wanted Ivalice Moogles as a playable race
@@SynodicScribe They actually reference the disparity in the Return to Ivalice storyline. One of the costume designers for the playwright mentions the difference between their historical recreations (ie the Ivalice Moogles) and what they look like in FF14
I much prefer FFTA moogle, i could take them seriously...
Idk why SE prefers them to be like this.
Another great video, Synodic! Loved learning more about these fluffy guys.
I'm fairly well convinced Moogles are Fairy folk. Not only are there Moogles on the first, they can deliver you mail from the Source or from the Source to the First. Pom color does seem to be mostly local, but also possibly status as well - given the way Moggle Mog XII (may his pom ever shine like the stars!)'s followers looked in Thornmarch. Their trickster nature would also allude to that. They are also nobody to mess with as I'm given to understand a great deal of the Garlean debris in the East Shroud was their doing.
Lol I liked that you mimicked the moogles when you talked about the King Haha
The thought kinda just came to me... I wonder if there are moogles in the 13th there were moogles in the 1st so in all honesty I would not be surprised if there were some darkness infected moogles roaming around the 13th playing pranks when they can but unlike the regular moogles these dark moogle's pranks may be a bit more... harmful... Food for thought at the very least...
Maybe the dark aspectes aether corrupted the moogles into imps or something.
Where do you think Imps came from?
so.... regular, garden-variety moogles?
Now I need a video about another species we know predates the sundering, the Namazu.
Wait what?
@@jemm113 SPOILER WARNING!
There's an ancient carving of a Namazu you can find in the First, that you find as you do the Qitari quests.
I always assumed the moogle mog tail was just a rough representation of how the moogle left the churning mists
Nope. Evidence suggests the separation of the Churning Mist Moogles and the Twelve's Wood moogles actually dates back to the 1st Era, post sundering.
@@SynodicScribe Ya, in Heavensward it was kinda presented as Moggle Mog saving the moogles from the first calamity. Was it retconned to be the End of Days? Are moogles sundered?
@@Kate-ms2mn Moogles are sundered, as proven by the First.
@@SynodicScribe Does this mean we could get potential Moogle lore with Panda?!
@@Kataxu The final fight of Panda: Good King Moogle Mog I !
I wonder if , just like the ixal being creations of the allagans who somehow got off azys lla and their history reflecting this fact. The moogles were amaurotine creations who survived to this day. Them coming from the heavens could've been elpis, and the gods fighting could have been what led to the sundering( minus the wine :3 ).
There's also the fact that if you play bard, the heavensward quest (spoilers!) Is mainly about finding... the song of oblivion sung by a saint of the heavens... which the moogles of the churning mists knew information about but considered it a somewhat taboo topic. The actual quest ended with you fighting a siren, but i wonder if that was really a coincidence, and the actual song of oblivion really did refer to the final days. Which would mean moogles really did originate from before the sundering and kept a bit of their history, albeit the details did not quite survive the passage of time.
GOOD KING MOGGLE MOG XII FOR THE 90 RAIDS OR RIOT
Y'know, I always assumed that Moogles were made as a product of the Sundering just like the other races, and I always assumed that the Churning Mists were where Good King Moggle Mog the XIIth, blessed be his name, kupo, was where they all came from.
But now that you played Neath Dark Waters and pointed out they could have existed during the time of the Ancients... yeah, Elpis could totally fit their original paradise.
Well done!
10:27 - Gotta say: Hot DAMN but that's an amazing transition! Going from the Moogle theme to the Amaurot one there was /chef'skiss
I didn't make the connection between Moogles on the first. I'd think it might be an oversight with the mail system, but then there's the hunt and Montblanc. Of course, I still don't get why the hunters of Sharlyian consider the Sack of Nuts to be an "archaic/old" currency.
Funny little fellas. Just goofing around.
Moggles, They have so many secrets... too many secrets.
Great video Synodic. Always enjoy your videos :)
Also no one can say that the Moogle theme does NOT sound like something written by Tim Burton.
Oh yeah it totally does.
That would be Danny Elfman, not Tim Burton. ❤️
@@tsunderere1400 lol I wasn't saying Tim Burton wrote his movies songs but good to know a name of his composer
Stuff your pom with magic─you know, the sparkly kind─then go 'bwaaa'!

Good King Moggle Mog, Good King Mog.
I'm a little shook by the revelation that the moogles may be pre-sundering
They definitely were!
dammi really like good king moogle story
It's likely the spilt wine was Ratatoskr's blood and the war between the gods was the start of the war between man and dragons
I love the moogles so much
MOOGLE VIDEO LETS GOOOOOOO
I wonder how the lore for moogles changes between different iterations.
For example, the first moogle I ever saw in a final fantasy game was not what you think; I saw a moogle that was as tall as a lalafell, with long bunny ears, a long wire that had a red pom on the end and walked on two legs, despite having wings.
Clearly not the moogles everyone knows but an Ivatican Moogle (correct me if I'm wrong, I can't find its correct spelling atm for some reason), which are almost entirely different. I wonder if they hav the same beliefs, mindset or abilities?
The story about the moogles coming to etheirys makes me wonder if they came for the same reason as the dragons only earlier. Omicrons are known to have wiped out many races before the dragons and that was shortly after the sundering (the war with allag being in the third astral era means they had to come in the first or second era's and seeing as it took time to come here from their star) and with the war between omicrons and dragons happening before the endsinger said "Hi, time to die" to them their war could have happened presundering or shortly post. So the omicrons could have invaded the moogle homeworld before the end of days and the moogles fled to etheirys and the ancients just let them stay.....but no one told hermes......lol.
Existed before the Sundering? Wow.
The HW beast tribe quests have taught me to loathe and despise the moogle race
same lol, that why i like doing exploding deez nut toi moogle face a lot :P
I can see them! lol
I wonder who the Ancient was that created the Moogles. Maybe Hermes since the Moogles have an affinity for wind elemental aether manipulation and their whimsical and mischievous nature being similar to the actual Greek deity. Plus the Greek deity Hermes liked traveling and Moogles, once they get to it, like traveling, too.
Endwalker Side Quest spoiler:
.
.
.
Maybe Moogles were the second attempt of creating a flying little creation from that Ancient who messed up the Pixies. (There is a side quest in Elpis that includes a beaver where they should be none...)
ff12 moogles are my favorites,
Do we know if the Moogles are born from Etheirys like the Ancients were or if they were created by them?
Did someone say Good King Moggle Mog?
I get why some… ok, *a lot* of people might hate moogles. They are lazy, self serving, and when they do put effort into something it’s usually mischief. I think that this is more than counterbalanced by how dumb and predictable they are, and how it’s not malice, just kind of childishness. They are like a less extreme version of what pixies are, in addition to just being the cutest little fluffballs ever and I want to hug one
I absolutely hate the “concealment” stuff cause they said they are invisible but the moogles are just observable by everyone in every god damn scenario they’re in, like the fucking Garleans in stormblood Allince Raids it’s always felt like the biggest fucking forgotten plot point
While this was a fantastic lore lesson, I was left with a burning question. Do moogles lay eggs?
I probed them about this topic but they told me to "Piss off, kupo!"
Moogles are essentially the FF equivalent of fae.
Kupo
Thanks always for the spoiler warnings! I'll be back once I beat Shadowbringers.
I hate how moogles litterly have no presence in the msq (Stormblood and onwards) which is kinda strange since aren't they sorta the mascot for the franchise? It's like having pokemon but without Pikachu. It just doesn't work.
Venat made the lopporits.
Azem made the moogles. Change my mind
i personally find Moogles annoying now, thanks to how they are in FF14, donno why but they just get on my nerves.
Same can't be said for Loprits though.
Oh, yet another with spoilers. Backing out.
Then I have to be one boring ass stickler because I really hate the moogles and their shenanigans. Seriously just having to do half the job Quests for them was enough to make me just want to slam my head against my laptop.
And King Moogle MOG the 12th was one primal that no matter how many times and I went at that damn fucking thing I lost to it again and again and again.
Take this advice from me if you ever go against that Primal on extreme for the love of God do not listen to the advice of people saying that you have to kill the Healer than the tank first! Get all of them relatively down to low HP then kill all of them at once.
And repeat the process again because this will happen at least 2 to 3 times and only then will you actually succeed on winning this fight or just go at it with any level 80 character and just instantly obliterate that and use its pom pom as a made shift mace
But it get worse that primal is getting a upgrade
@@Roxas_light yeah somebody in the Discord chat told me I'm hoping they Nerf it to where it's a lot easier to actually take it's on or at least make it bluntly obvious on what you're supposed to do
Well sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they can never die. No no that's taboo. You have been wasting your time.
As much as I hate the moogle's antics I can say they are interesting....and useful to an extent. Still not a fan though
