Moogles do get a mention in Final Fantasy VIII: One of the incorrect answers you can give the Forest Owls is "but the moogles are still here", implying that they're around somewhere.
I loved the Moogles in the Ivallice games because they just felt like their own distinctive race as opposed to being akin to just cute mascots. They had deep culture and lore, and they all looked distinct from each other. Also their designs are just cuter.

I love FFVIII's Mini-Mog, probably my favorite because it looks like a very fluffy cat. Also it's funny how FFVII has like 3 canonical versions of Moogles and I've never noticed until now
This is an Amazing collection! But you missed one very important Moggle MOGGIE from FF7 Remake. He sells stuff from the MoogleEmporium buffing your parties abilities and... Brings Happiness to everyone!
Interesting that Kingdom Hearts gets only passing mentions. I would argue that that series has had an impact in the development of moogles because it popularized the role of the moogle as a shopkeeper, which is a role that has since been often attributed to them, specially in the mobile games.
@@anathemasoul8393 will I'm made they left out uncharted because "it's not final fantasy" like bruh I just want to know what happens in uncharted so I pressed a final fantasy video and somehow I'm the idiot?
Those are annoying in every game so in FF5 Odin can kill them instantly in FF7 Knights of the round can be used in FF8 I already made disc 1 Lionheart though Tonberries first show up in FF8 on disc 2. Then in FF9 they only show up in 1 area Ipsen's castle on disc 3 but since its counters in FF9 first depend on how many TONBERRIES you killed EG won't do 9999 damage when you first fight them. In FF7 and FF8 its EG counters are based on total enemies killed so a party member like Cloud and Squall respectively will likely always take the full 9999 damage from it party members that you rarely use in both will barely lose even 300 HP. In FFX the Don Tonberry pretty much kills anybody no matter what their stats are so even at 99,999 HP Don Tonberry can still do 99,999 per turn But ONLY hits you once so with Auto Phoenix set on the entire party those can't off the entire party as long as you have ENOUGH Phoenix downs to burn before killing it.
Easy: an enemy featured in every game designed to be impossible to beat and kills your entire party way too easily. Due to them being programmed to get stronger with every enemy you kill during gameplay
In FFXIV, moogle also serve as Eternal Bonding ceremony master. We also get moogle minion after attending the Eternal Bonding. (Demon Box & Bridesmoogle). In trial against King Moogle, we also saw Pu prefix on some of the moogle; Pukla Puki, Pukna Pako, and Puksi Piko.
There's even a chain of quests that gets the Twelveswood Moogles(who tend to have names that begin with Pu or something similar, as well as double names) and the Moghome Moogles(who have single names that always begin with Mog) into contact with eachother, so you can see the diffrences between them!
I never realized moogles are meant to resemble Koala bears and NOT cats! That's quite an eye-opener. Also, I guess I don't even have to explicitly ask, but could you do The Evolution of Chocobos next? It's also interesting how moogles appear in Kingdom Hearts games but Chocobos don't.
Fun fact. Ariel Winter has also voiced Marlene in Advent Children Complete. I really liked this video, and didn't even know that the Moogle were changed up so much. For me, the "canon" look is the one represented in Kingdom Hearts. That's the Moogle "form" that I know the most.
The thing about Moogles, for each new game while there are similarities Moogles' designs really change, almost like the summons. So that leads to favorite designs. Like Ifrit FFVIII is my favorite moogle iteration they're so cute.
An evolution of vehicles (airships, SPACEships, chocobos technically) would either be very boring and repetitive or very interesting as it would also show how the world map evolves.
I went San Diego Comic-Con (2011) & my best pal couldn't go... her one wish was for me to buy her a Moogle plush from the Square Enix booth. Overwhelmed... I called her asking for a better description of the design she wanted. I had zero idea the vast assortment of Moogle designs! I ended up buying the one from FF9 I believe. After that I become more of an Final Fantasy fan because I was curious about the role Moogles had. 5 is my favorite number so I might have to play FF5 one of these days.
I'm shocked no mention of the Moog status from the Gameboy game Final Fantasy Adventure. I know its not an actual Final Fantasy game but it was my introduction to both Moogles and Chocobos
Interesting how 3's Moogles made nyaaa~ noises and people tend to compare their recent visions to that of a cat. I myself like to believe Mog has the voice he has in the "III" advert, almost like he's just some 40 year old guy in a Moogle suit, something I find unique and funny. I do wonder why Cait Sith's riding moogle is as beastly as it is in its depiction, but I do at least appreciate their more prominent resurgence in recent titles. Thanks for this video!
Dr. Mog did also eventually become a playable character in FFRK, as some of the footage you used demonstrated. Also, all the footage you had from DFFOO was of Mog from VI, rather than the NPC Mog, who looks more like the ones in other Dissidia games.
By the time the setting of Final Fantasy Tactics (and later Vagrant Story I guess...), it's a shame a lot of Races that once inhabited the world of Ivalice went extinct due to whatever the devastating Cataclysm was. Not just Moogles, but also seemingly the, Seeq, Gria, Bangaa, and even the Viera too.
There are a few pieces of Moogle history that got omitted here... The lead character of Final Fantasy Adventure on Game Boy could sometimes be turned into a Moogle by enemies. In the sequel, Secret of Mana on the SNES, the Moogle status not only made a return, but there was also a Moogle Village in that game. Me starting FFXIV: "Oh man, these Moogles are so adorable!"

I was thinking the same thing, especially considering (if I'm not mistaken) that SoM was the first North American appearance of moogles
I think they were also in Final Fantasy Adventure, which would make that their first western appearance. Either way, the Mana franchise would be responsible for the first western appearance and the localization of moogles.

In my opinion, FFXIII-2 has the cutest rendition of moogle. I do wish moogle can be a playable character again like what we saw in FFVI.
I prefer and find FFIX's Moogles cuter, but to each its own
Frankly, I woulda sooner said the ones from Mobius Final Fantasy than FFXIII-2.
I've grown to the Military Operation, Organization, Gukdance, Logistics, Experts in Type-0, specially the combat operator from Class 0
