I've watched a few vids regarding this filter... And for the most part (out of the box) it seems like everyone likes it... I've been looking for a review (time served) which gives a good balanced opinion... Your views seem to fit the unboxing reviews... I also agree with the height problems that other's have, but it seems that it will work really well once you have the media of your choice added... Nice vid, simple to understand, and very practical to boot! Look forward to the extensive review of this filter with your own media and a longer time of use, Keep up he good work, as it is needed.
Thank you for watching and for your detailed input. I can definitely see both sides of this filter. It seems I get a lot of great feedback when follow-up videos are made. Thanks for the kind words. Will definitely do a part 3 and look forward to the responses from that.
I have almost always used some type of canister. Recently purchased 3 hygger hob, not this model with the high tower. I am using my own media and sponges. Dont like the cartridge. Over all they do a nice jobs And dont have to look at the sponge filters 😅
Yeah, my #1 filter is still canister, but this hob I've really grown to like, despite its tall tower. I'll be putting my own media in as well soon. Thanks Jose 👍
Oh ok lol. Yeah, it kinda depends on what's kept in them, I guess. It's nice to have the option in this one to do whatever. I do love my sponge filters, though. Easy maintenance. It's what a majority of my fishroom is made up of. Very cost effective. 👍
So I can tell you I'm not a fan of this model filter from Hygger. I just don't like the design as its way to tall for my liking. I may work well but it really don't need a tower on the back of my aquariums. Glad its working out good for you. And absolutely I would modify the media to suit my preferences instead of the cartridges
Thanks for your input. To each their own. It's quite different, yes, but it's so nice to have the motor inside the tank. I feel the tallness would be a caveat for most. Thanks for watching!

Man. The media they put in hob filters melt so fast vs 25 ppi sponge filters and polishing pads
What do you mean by melt? Maybe used up?
I mean they need to be cleaned too much too often 😆
