When we found our home it was pretty much done I didn't have the option to choose the flooring the builder had already installed all the tile in the home and my husband didn't want to spend the extra money to have it removed. About two years later we decided to replace the carpet and the builder grade hardwood but my husband was against putting hardwood in the kitchen. Being obedient to my husband I didn't get the hardwood in the kitchen but everywhere else. Fast forward 15 years later our kitchen tile had taken a beaten and the floor needs to be replaced. Mark and I had a long discussion going back and forth with the pros and cons of having wood flooring in the kitchen. Mark finally caved in because I wasn't changing my mind, I was determined and I wanted my hardwood floors.
We had 9 extra boxes from the previous installation but it wasn't enough to complete the job. I called the company that installed the hardwood back in 2008 to find out the manufacturer of the hardwood floor is out of business. This is where my big headache started the hardwood I currently have is no long available which puts me on a treasure hunt it was like a needle in a haystack. Mark and I search high and low using all our resources going back and forth traveling to different cities and states looking for this hardwood or something that's similar. I realize I was not getting anywhere so I tried one local hardwood store in my area. I scheduled them to come to my home and take measurements and when he arrived and we start talking about my dilemma he immediately said, I'd believe I have something that will match what you have so he said I will come back and drop off two samples for you to look at. I was pleasantly surprised that it mimics the floors that I currently have it's not a perfect match but it definitely is the best I've seen so far so I decided we will go and purchase all the flooring I need it from that company. Hahahaa!! When you said "I can't have nothing to myself." it sounded like my husband when I want to try whatever power tool he has. The way I handled that nail gun the first time honey! I'm a PRO! hahaa!! I made him let me change the kitchen faucet without stepping in. You are the SUPERVISOR Sir. VERBAL prompts ONLY!💪💪The way you have to twist your body to get it done is TOUGH! But we got her done and now you and I can call ourselves Plumbers that specialize in faucet installations! Yes ma'am!!
Hi Zia Good morning, LOL 😂 it's so true I see we have a few similarities. I am learning how to use the power tools. For years I was afraid to use them not any more! I am learning how to use a nail gun because of our next diy project requires brad nails. It just feels good when you fix it or create it yourself. Lol I felt the same way about the faucet I really wanted to do it myself. Yes it was a tight squeeze and awkward for an area that is used a lot for kitchen cleaning and storage I don't understand why the builder always make under the sink so small. It felt so good knowing I did have to pay a plumber to do the job. Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment.

I am loving my wood flooring it took years but I finally got them. My daughter is always helping me out she's a chip off the block like me. I love wood cabinets I would love to update the doors but not sure if it would be cheaper to purchase new ones 🤷🏽♀️lol I did my best with the spray gun.

On your holes. I’d put a soap dispenser to fill one of those holes. And maybe your dish soap and another dispenser to fill another hole, maybe a container dispenser for lotion😊. Everything came out perfect.
My old faucet had the soap pump I want to move away from that style. Closing the holes up was the best thing to do. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment I appreciate your support.

I enjoyed all 1 hr & 3 min of this video. I’ve used the “feed-n-wax” for all the wood furniture in my home. Being Afrocentric I have a lot of wood to keep rejuvenated. I even use it on some of my masks ❤. You showed up & showed out on this one 🥰.

I was thinking the same thing! i'm glad you confirmed this. We have a walnut cocktail table in the family room that was used as a race track for our then toddler. It was pretty pricy so I'd love to restore it. Maybe I'll have that now 20 yr old help me! Thank Ladies for confirming it can be used in other wood items.

Let me just say, normally i don't comment, it's a rare occasion. However, hearing your pleasant voice and seeing your work i just couldn't stop myself. First of all congratulations to your daughter and THANK YOU for your videos. I am so happy that i subscribed to your channel. Your videos are such a joy, especially since i feel that i can relate. We moved in our house almost 10 yrs ago and have slowly been making changes, diy mostly. I love taking something old and refreshing it or upgrading it, it feels different when you do the work yourself. The time and effort invested is so meaningful. Stressful or frustrating maybe however more meaningful. Recently I stopped due to medical conditions. We have a lot of work to do still. I love to see the love being given back to your home that has sustained you for those yrs. I appreciate our home so much even in its current state, it hasn't given us many problems and it older. I can't wait to have more time to view more videos and get to watch your latest creations. You are truly an inspiration. I love that you are determined and plan things out. I research things extensively before I tackle the projects. You and your husband are beautiful, the joking was so cute and you all are adorable. I couldn't have possibly been the only that prepared myself when you kept saying "DON'T BLINK"😂. LOVED IT ALL

Oh My Goodness!! This was so much hard work. You are right to invest in your investments especially while your health is still permitting it. We try to do most of our house projects ourselves but my health only allows a little here and there and only in the cooler months. 😂

Hi Stacy I was looking for the a cost effective way to restore my cabinets. I did not want to spend a lot after all hardwood is not cheap. Yes bang for my bucks! No harsh fumes or odor. Just following the instructions and check their website out I called them and they walked me through and made me comfortable about using their products. @@shannalakale3431 We pained our kitchen cabinets. The bottom cabinets are charcoal gray and the top cabinets are a very light gray. I love it but that was sure a great idea that you did to bring out the color in your cabinets. I would not have ever thought to do that. Your kitchen is beautiful and I love your countertop decor.

Great decision with doing the black on the island it ties in all the other black pieces and WOWZER ! on the restoring of the cabinets !!! It blower my mine every time, I need to find that to restore my hutch! Love the light fixture and the chairs look way better in black!
