@Craig's Channel what would you recommend out of Dawn v1, Dawn v2 or the DTC/Tournament kits. I've watched all the videos today but can't make my mind up - i really only want the kit to be able to jump without taking my thumbs off the aim stick but rapid fire wouldn't hurt for pistols either (i currently just use tactical flipped layout so R3 is crouch/prone and R1 is shoot instead of R2... this leaves jump as X which isn't ideal)
I love the v1 kit as it's the original ps4 controller still, I'm so used to the size as I've got small hands, the tournament edition is more like an Xbox, but more and more people are saying I should give it a chance and get used to the size. Did you also check the Clicky kit? That's good for FPS games
@@CraigsChannel thanks bud. I did watch that click video of yours too but because it's an add-on then the price creep starts happening. I think I'll go for the DTC since it I corporates the improvements from V2 and also has the trigger stop implemented. Agree that it'll take some time to get used to the controller again
The only thing with the decade kit is if you play Warzone and you're in a vehicle and have the trigger stops turned on your vehicle will only go half speed, you'll need to turn them off when your on a atv, truck etc
My friend added Clicky to his, I'm still using the standard controller with v1 back button kit and clicky. You'll just not have to add the trigger stops

It's such an old video now, off the top of my head the only time you'd need to solder is if you want L3 or R3 to be remapped to a back button. Most people like myself are happy with just X and O

@@CraigsChannel I know haha. I kept double checking the video as I was freaking out. I thought I broke something. Luckily it was something I overlooked. Thank you for the video , it was great!
There isn't much to break, the kits are pretty easy to install, they might look tricky but if you take your time and watch a video before hand you'll have no problems. I'm just waiting on the new PS5 button kit, so you can have different colours as buttons, the Dualsense looks difficult
Theres a few back button mod kits if you only wanted 2 buttons and keep the same size controller, I've done a few installs on the channel. Even digital triggers if you play CoD
They're clicky just just like the other versions of the back button kits eXtremerate do. I honestly prefer the clicky press rather than a soft press. I'm only ever using 2 buttons with these kits rather than 4, I just use X to jump and circle to crouch/slide as all I play is Modern Warfare
@@CraigsChannel hell yeah thanks man! I play stick and move with square and circle mapped but I’ve been playing more warzone recently so I want another button for triangle. Thanks for the reply!
If you check my other videos I've got a few more mod kits on my channel with either 2 or 4 back buttons, they might just be what you need! Saves you buying a Scuf. I'm currently using the 4 button kit v1 with digital triggers but dont use 4 just 2 buttons
Have you used back buttons before? If you haven't it feels really really weird at first, took me maybe 3 weeks to get the hang of it, but after using them I'll never go back. I've been using the v1 version which means it's the normal size PS4 controller, I've got little hands so suits me perfect, this version is for people who like Xbox size or have a bit bigger hands
@@CraigsChannel Oh yeah I use their kit for the xbox and the ps4, but this is a new shell altogether. That why I am curious. I like how the 4 back button are kinda spread out. The ps4 one personally was to close together that I ended up only use 2 button and leaving the top button off. Although I did assign something to them, but the chance of me accidentally pressing them is 0. I think back button at this point should be standard on all controllers. To bad that not the case for the ps5 and series x.
Totally agree, I've no idea why next gen haven't added back buttons or gave the choice for say 2 styles of controllers one with and one without buttons, theres a huge market clearly and the product would sell no problem. I only use 2 buttons anyways, few of my friends use 4 but I'm happy with just two. My friend paid about £160 for his Xbox Elite controller, not cheap at all. Like I say this newer style controller would suit somebody who likes Xbox controller or has bigger hands than my girl ones 😂 Have you tried the Clicky, digital triggers?
@@CraigsChannel No the only trigger I experience are the one on their Xbox kit. Which are trigger stop. Which I don't like. It sometime don't detect my input. I don't know how well it work on the ps4 style trigger though, but I know it suck on the xbox triggers.
Trigger stops I'm really not a fan of, the Clicky is digital triggers so it's as close to a mouse kind of click you'll ever get, I absolutely love mine. Few friends have tried them and ordered straight away saying how good they feel for FPS games... if you play racing games they're no good as you need throttle control, these are either on or off, really good mod one I'd highly recommend to anybody

@@CraigsChannel well it depends I'd say. I built the controller mainly for TheHunter Call Of The Wild, lots of using dpad in that game, which I now have on the back buttons.
@@CraigsChannel thanks for the heads up bud. I don't play warzone at all so should be fine for me (too slow/campy..I prefer shoot the ship)
could you add the clicky button mod with this controller and it work you think?
My friend added Clicky to his, I'm still using the standard controller with v1 back button kit and clicky.
You'll just not have to add the trigger stops
@@CraigsChannel love it i have v1 but was going to get the new one cos the button placement looks better which do you prefer? . thank you :)
@@McCourtRuns I'll be honest my hands are really small and it feels a bit big for me, but it could be because I've been using the dualshock 4 for 6 years now and my hands are so used to it lol. I'm actually using my dualshock 4 on my PS5 so I can use the back buttons.
Everybody seems to love this controller who said they've bought one
Is saudering necessary in this kit?
It's such an old video now, off the top of my head the only time you'd need to solder is if you want L3 or R3 to be remapped to a back button. Most people like myself are happy with just X and O
@@CraigsChannel wait so only X and O can be remaped with out any saudering
Any of the symbol buttons, X, O square or triangle you can remap
Do you prefer this or the v1 ?
With me having small hands I've still been using the v1 but keep saying I'm going to try and use this from now on, it looks better and people who've bought it said the buttons are in the perfect position. I'm using v1 with the digital triggers (Clicky mod kit its called)
@@CraigsChannel Thanks, also does it work with the CUH-ZCT2U?
PS4 controller?
Has the controller got a light on the touch pad when its turned on? You know the big pad in the middle of the controller, if that lights up it's a v2 controller and you're good to go
@@CraigsChannel I’m buying a new one tomorrow, of what I can see in the pictures I’m good, thanks for your time
Controller not turning on, any ideas?
Nvm, I put the white strip the wrong way
@@jduandavis4815 I was just about to say have you double checked all the wires 😂 it's usually a simple fix like that when the light bar doesn't come on
@@CraigsChannel I know haha.
What are the buttons mapped to?
Mine personally are mapped to X and O to help me slide cancel and jump round corners while aiming, but you can set them to what ever you please
@@CraigsChannel can you remapping them even without soldering
Yeah I never solder as I dont need to map L3 R3 👍
@@CraigsChannel oh ok thanks
Theres a few back button mod kits if you only wanted 2 buttons and keep the same size controller, I've done a few installs on the channel. Even digital triggers if you play CoD
Are the back buttons clicky or are they soft press?
Cool, but how does it feel and play? That what I'm more curious about.
Like I say this newer style controller would suit somebody who likes Xbox controller or has bigger hands than my girl ones 😂
Have you tried the Clicky, digital triggers?
@@CraigsChannel No the only trigger I experience are the one on their Xbox kit. Which are trigger stop. Which I don't like. It sometime don't detect my input. I like the idea of it, but it just not working the way it should. Which is pretty much the same as this kit.
Wondering if you could help me. I installed mine the other day. The remap button wasn't lighting up. The controller light was on and all the normal buttons work except the remap one.
So I bought a new kit. Same problem. Any idea what could be causing it??
Many thanks and great video
Did you definitely connect everything right? Like double and triple checked. Is your controller a v1 or v2? If it is a v2 is it a genuine, not saying you've bought a fake but there are lots on the market.
The chances if you having yo faulty kits is very rare
@@CraigsChannel its a V2. JDM 055 motherboard. Yeah I followed the video. Even did it 3 times pausing making sure I was doing it exact.
Bought the controller from argos, doubt they would haves, right?
Thanks for the reply.
Argos wouldn't sell a fake, I was worried in case you bought it from ebay. My light is really really dim compared to my friends, is there ant way you could cover it or turn your lights off and do it?
@@CraigsChannel Yeah I saw that in your video so I turned the lights off to check haha, still nothing i'm afraid.
Is there any way you could try another control pad? Maybe put yours back together and swap it with a friends if they don't mind. It sound there it's the controller that's the problem not the kit
Great video👌👌👌
Thanks Dave, they've finally got the back button for the PS5 now, made a video the other day, been waiting months for it
how much is this? link?
I'm just awaiting the links, I know its on the US Amazon store www.amazon.com/dp/B08LH91NHN not sure if you're US or UK? As soon as I get the links I'll add them to the description
how do you like the tournament compared to the standard extremerate
I'm still using the standard pad with the v1 back button kit and clicky digital triggers, the tournament pad is bigger than I'm used to, few of my friends bought it and love it, they've been Xbox people for years so suits them well, I'm PS threw and threw lol
@@CraigsChannel can you post a link to find the v1
Do you mean link to the video or buying it?

Nice how did you get first day shipping XD?

Got same one before watching this comes in tomorrow
@@IronRuffnek you get this one tomorrow? Nice 😎 what colour you gone for?
Same one
Nice! I love the horror them, just wish there was more characters on like say Michael Myers
Video helped a lot to connect the Main wire, thanks!
How you enjoying it or have you just literally put it together?
@@CraigsChannel well it depends I'd say. I built the controller mainly for TheHunter Call Of The Wild, lots of using dpad in that game, which I now have on the back buttons. They click a little too hard, but that might change. The bigger size is strange at first, but I was kinda looking for that. I use regular PS4 controllers with SMARTGRIP (check them out, great product). I will try the new controller a bit more to make a final verdict, but for now it is ok and great improvement over the button kit which extremerate has for standard PS4 controller. That did not feel great to play with for me. How a about you?
As you say the size was a real change for me, I've only got small hands and I've been using the dualshock 4 for like 6 years now so anything feels weird. I'm actually still using the DS4 on my PS5 😂 just waiting on them releasing the new back button kit for the Dualsense and I'll be happy
@@CraigsChannel I installed the decade kit work really nice...except my friends are saying when I'm in the party they get noises or reverberations from my side. Did you get this or heard about this? Thank you
That's nothing to do with the control pad, it sounds like it's the headphone. Are you using the controller connected or wireless?
Can this remapped the Dpad controls to the back buttons as well?
I'm 99% sure you can map the Dpad to the back buttons, personally I only use O and X as my backs, think that's what most people choose
Yes you can remap everything except the L3 R3 if you don't solder the thin connector wire. I also had a dawn remap kit, and I din't solder for L3 R3 remap option. This time I will solder, it just gives your analogs a fighting chance:))
@@adrianbratescu7015 I was going to do a video on the dreaded analog drift, easy enough to fix with a new one, just remove the side bits with the three pins then hopefully that fixes it
@@CraigsChannel my analogs don't have a huge drift. The right one with 0.06 deadzone setting is peachy:)). My comment was to give a fighting chance to the click action of the L3 and R3. Because they wear down really easy. I think that's the Achilles heel of the ps4 controller(intentionally designed in my opinion). Anyway I have a soldering iron and I ordered from eBay new Alps analogs, wish my luck:))
Are you removing the full stick or just the blue bits that wear? As long as your click isn't worn like you mentioned you shouldnt need to replace the full thing. My DZ is the same 0.06 my friends is 0.20 😂
EPIC!!
I love the Scary theme with all the horror/halloween people 👻
@@CraigsChannel The best controller for Halloween👍
@@branquinhov2805 and Zombie Royale 😉
How the buttons feel
Have you had any version? V1 or V2? The previous versions feel softer and not as loud, if that makes sense!
I only use 2 buttons though not 4, 4 is just to many and more than I need 😂
@@CraigsChannel the v1
Is it just the normal 4 button one or have you fitted the clicky kit with it?
@@CraigsChannel yes
You've fitted a clicky?
