We have lots of more Eggstra works (at least hopefully, knowing that there are many more stickers in the datafiles) and I can't see challenges going anywhere
Boy I hope so. Salmon run has absolutely popped off this game and I really hope they lean into it a bit more with the next game if they do SPLT4. Would also love if they’d flesh out table turf appropriately since it was such an advertised feature that just kinda… went nowhere.
The way I'm thinking about it is that this is the last SEASON, we might get more content like 3rd kits but it won't fit this format anymore. Some expanded PB stuff like fest tricolor maps ink colors and big run stages and kits and some other small stuff.
Ok... 1. how does this have no replies?! 2. I think that they could bring every stage to tricolor if they put in the effort. We also have recon mode for any stage at anytime so we could possibly have that for splatfest too 🤔
Thank god there’s someone else that agrees that 2 years would mean until September. Even though this is season end on September, the content is 3 months before so that’s only 1 year and 3/4 of content
@@landensplatoonDrizzle season 2022 (launch) was also considered a season; the end of sizzle 2024 does mark 2 full years of content, it’s just a matter of whether or not nintendo feels like adding third kits for most weapons or leaving their game unfinished
tbh what splatoon really needs most of all is an update roadmap for us players. there's so much negativity around each season because people want more, or they're unsatisfied. people are always making their own interpretations on what the update will contain or what future ones will look like. I understand keeping some stuff a surprise but people constantly letting themselves down expecting third kits in any given update is really grating on me.
They’re not going to loudly exclaim that they’re too lazy to do third kits, they’re just gonna shove this game under their bed and ignore it. So a roadmap would defeat that purpose

It’s been a dope ride for me, personally. I’m definitely not on the side of this being the last season, though, since that’s not actually two full years. Drizzle season 2024 will happen, and I’ll firmly stand on it 100%. Regardless of whatever the future holds, though, this game definitely gave me some dope memories from season 1, all the way to now, and it’s also been wonderful to find new folks to watch and play with who also take interest in it, like yourself. I remember playing with you a couple times before during your streams and it was really cool, even if it wasn’t for very long. It’s been a pleasure to see your growth on this platform as well, and I commend you for it, Chase. 😎
My speculation is that there will be third kits, but only for the weapons released a launch, not the dlc weapons. It’ll be weird if Splatoon 1 and 2 added 3rd kits and this game didn’t. I still hope that there will be third kits for all, but I don’t really see it.
Not a fan of the argument that the game has been selling worse overall, its just not true. Splatoon 3 has still been selling more per quarter on average than splatoon 2 did.
I'd recommend checking out this video by Rizirone, the game started off really well but had an insane drop in sales after a certain time frame ua-cam.com/video/N5lJPHbqJfI/v-deo.htmlsi=n-aptOGlnVLIlxHi
im pretty sure that they gave the new weapons their second kits right away bc if they didnt then only 6 weapons wouldve gotten their 2nd kits which is maybe too low for them
I think it may mean one of two things: 1. They’re setting up for third kits. (copium) 2. They’re trying to give every weapon their second kits so they can be done.
I honestly think this is the last season, especially since one of the cited reasons for the Switch 2’d internal delay from late this year to early next year was Nintendo meeting more time to work on first-party games. Nintendo likely wants EPD 5 should be all hands on deck to finish up their next project, which is almost certainly a new Animal Crossing.
Regardless of the specific reason for it, I really like that the new mains are getting 2 kits up front. I hope this becomes more standard. Whenever we get Splatoon 4, it should have 2 kits for each weapon at launch imo.
It never made sense to me why people thought Sizzle season would be the last guaranteed season, if they keep updating for 2 years, then the last update would be in september by all means, no?
It's possible. Sizzle 2024 is going to be the eighth season though and there are 4 seasons in a year, so technically there will be 2 years of content out after this.
I'm thinking they post 2 kits each for the new weapons this season and we have a season with ONLY 3rd kits. Possibly 4 reoccuring stages sprinkled time to time. (To even-out every season with 1 returning and 1 new map)
We shouldn't have to wait for a content extension, third (and even fourth) kits should've been part of the planned main update development cycle to begin with. We're at a point where there's simply too many subs and specials to accommodate options for with just two kits per main weapon, personally I think there should be an average of 6 kits per main weapon in the case of splatoon 3, that sounds like a lot, but that's the only way to ensure each main weapon has access to nearly a third of the no. of specials available or the amount of sub and specials present in this game, and as Chase pointed out, making kits shouldn't be that hard, and especially so, considering that Nintendo already recycles kits from previous instalments regardless of it being to the benefit or detriment of a main weapon. Alternatively they can just remove some subs/specials from Splatoon 4 to make things easier for producing kits, besides there are some sub/special weapons like Tenta missiles that these games could do without.
No special has ever returned for a third time in splatoons history and it sure as hell won’t be tenta missiles. Literally the only special (as of now) that isn’t even on 6 weapons
The upside down tower visible from the new stage, the trains, scorch gorge, and the jelly in the desert are all reminiscent of the early game content and trailers. The circling back really does make it seem like the end of major content. But if the devs like to round things off so much, it makes me think every weapon will get 3rd kits, since all vanilla kits were available on launch.
My hope is drizzle season 24 is the last one and we get third kits for all weapons. Please. My dwindle of hope is they never said this was the last one... yet. This is definitely the last map though. The cynical side of me thinks that nintendo sees the extra weapons we got in 3 (nova, pencil, painbrush, etc.) as enough of a replacment for 3rd kits.
I don’t have a belief that it will go either way. I hope that there’s a content extension of some kind, but I don’t believe that it will or won’t happen. However there are a few things I am aware of. 1. There is no evidence AGAINST a content extension, meanwhile there is evidence FOR one, primarily in the form of 2 unreleased main weapons (yes, they’re not kits or anything like that, they’re not mint or wellstring, they are 2 brand new main weapons, separate from all the rest) 2. 3rd kits have never been released as part of the update cycle before, they’ve always dropped randomly, outside of the usual update cycle. Nintendo has no reason to change this, so it’s very possible, likely even, that we will get third kits in a similar way
I don't think so. Historically the "Final" update trailers have been more cinenematic in some way (I mean Splat2's was literally a Anime Opening lmao), plus the two unknown new mains in the code, as well as the sub/special distribution being extremely messed up right now... I also have a bit of a theory for stages...: If this isn't the last stage added, the last stage will probably be introduced next season, and if I had to guess where it would be: It would take place on the ruined Eifel Tower. I mean, the trailer here seemed to be hinting towards something in the future, and at the end seemed to pan towards the desert, specifically towards the eifel tower. It is a important location that doesn't have a proper name that would make a INSANELY cool stage to play on, and a fitting way to end new stages. That being said I think new catalogs are done ^-^'
My current thought is this is the final SEASON. With the 2 Mystery Weapons in the files this leads me to believe that more content is to come just in small batches similar to how updates were handled in S1 and S2. These additions would be 2 main weapons + kits. Sheldon's picks and MAYBE Kensa collections. Private battle updates for Splatfests and such. Recycled fests (Frostyfest and Splatoween included) and obviously patches
I'm just gonna expect a "final update" that adds Big Run/Splatfests to priv. battles etc. that maybes adds a pack of 3rd kits to a handful of popular weapons
S3 was the game that made me go from a part-time casual player with less than 300 hrs in S2 from 2017 till its end to over 1,400 in S3. I don’t know if anyone else had the same experience as I did, but S3 made me want to get better and play more above all other games. The game play felt way better (when a good connection is made) and the overall experience is way more satisfying. Anyways… have a good one
It more then likely is. Splatoon 3 felt like such a rushed project that it is almost as if the developers just wanted to quickly finish this current story and move on to the next. Its clear from the start that splatoon 3 wasn't going to be properly taken care of by the dev team, they have failed to listen to public opinions and complains about the game, as well as a lack of new content on not only release but throughout the entire lifespan of the game.
Imma go on a riot if Nintendo doesn’t add splatfest turf war and tricolor to private battles. Also dyeable hair and finger tips (would be cool customization outside of side order)
Considering that Splatoon 2 had its final fest in the summer, around the time of the game’s second anniversary, but stopped getting new weapons in the spring, I think that even if this is effectively the last season in the game, we’ll probably see a comparable big Splatfest in fall and some updates that come with it.
Something that isn't related to the video, but is related to the trailer that most people didn't notice: Scorch Gorge has some new blocks in mid on the grates and the ground. Hopefully it's a full rework :) (but probably not)
The number 3 is in every place, 3 idols, 3 Big Run bosses, 3 plazas. So please, I hope they bring us third kits just to follow that tradition lol (also so we can have GOOD kits on weapons that have so much potential)
hey Chase I was thinking of the New Stringer ( Wellstring V) This Weapon Packs-a-Punch but it's a HeavyWeight Stringer this is the slowest Stringer like the other Stringers
I think this is it. I think Sizzle Season 2024 is the finale. I also think that once Sizzle Season concludes, they might go the same route as Mario Kart Tour. In other words, recycling older seasons with the same stuff you could get at the start of the game. I'm not against the idea of third hits ('cause, y'know. It's Splatoon 3. C'mon.), but I also think it might be better if we only have the kits we have now. That's just my opinion.
I am really afraid because this feels the last season and is really sad.The game feels so empty and with no care and is dissapointing, there was so much potential and now people is even quiting the game. I still have hope like everyne but atthe same time seeing what they did with ACNH, I would be not surprised if they just kill Splatoon 3
I don't think that the devs have stopped at 24 maps because it fills two pages. That's a pretty arbitrary reason. Like Salmon Run, where a full cycle of all 7 maps takes around 10 days, I imagine there is a practical reason for stopping at 24. With the current rotation system, 2 maps per 4 queues per 12 rotations, allows each stage to run four times in a day. Whether or not that is what actually happens I have no idea, just speculation.
They showed 2 of the mew weapon’s kit just because they don’t wanna show 2rd, 3rd, and 4th kit at the same update🫠There must be a 4th kit just like Splatoon 2🫠
theres a lot of (arguably weak) evidence pointing towards more stuff post-season: - sheldons picks are a no brainer - Kensa kit ads on Lemuria Hub - there are a handful of Salmon run stickers that dont look like any of the bosses/kings currently available - ashbinary’s datamine for there being more “[weapon] user” titles than there are weapons in the game
I bet on this is the final season personaly :/. Even if make a new kit isn't that dificult, it make the game more and more hard to balance and we are already at the end of the time when the development team work actively on the game. So I don't think they want to take time to do it. Maybe we will have something like some special fest like another splatoween but I don't think we will have more sadly.
I think the sizzle season is the end cause I looked at catalog to see something I don’t know what type of item that said thank you for playing and also they brought back a crap Ton of stuff from past seasons too.
I can’t find it but if you search up a Splatoon content channel called ToastMaster1 you can scroll through the community post and a picture of SRL tweeted another year for Splatoon 3. @ToastMaster1
I saw this from somewhere and I'll paraphrase it: S1 and S2 had different circumstances: S1 got content extension because of how unexpectedly popular the game was on a console deemed a financial failure. S2, which came out 4 months into the Switch's lifespan, got a content extension because of the Switch's popularity and later Covid. What circumstances are there for S3 to get a content extension? The console itself is in its twilight years with the Switch 2 rumors circulating. For those who are saying September marks the 2 years, consider that the 2 year mark can also just be a balance patch. Content wise, they really seem to be done at this point if all weapons now have 2 kits, Bonerattle is the final SR stage, and the big Big Run features a culmination of all 3 Kings. I'd say enjoy what we got and what's left of it. Save yourselves from potential disappointment.
I believe it’s the last official season. They’ll just recycle/repurpose existing content starting in September. Nintendo is prioritizing the next console now.
I don't believe this will be the last season. Splatoon 3 will go out with a bang. We'll know the last season will be the last season will be announced and there will be one hell of a Splatfest. Yes the "Switch 2" is coming and Splatoon 4 will most certainly be on that platform but with it being a backward compatible successor, does Nintendo think gamers will flock in droves to it? Probably not. I also wonder, are they even coding Splatoon 4 yet? Nintendo has been wanting to release it for a while but the supply and tech haven't been there yet. I'd be supprised if the hardware wasn't finalized until after 2024 started and I'm sure things like storage is still being worked out. The rumored 256GB non-NVME is just concerning but using old tech is Nintendo. Splatoon 4 probably won't come out until a year later after the Switch 2's release which will line up with when I plan on upgrading.
Me I have my tory about splatoon futur. Resently i toked my back on what Nintendo has done in the passe in splatoon and i had notices that somme players aren't realy happy about some stuff about the game that couldn't be fixe by à patche or a New seson like: lag, kits, weapons, and my suspicion became more and more biguer when i notice that the Nintendo switsh start becoming old and new Nintendo games like Mario start becoming more rare and old games starting returning on switsh. I mostly feel like Nintendo are tryng to gagne à maximum of money. Maybe to go in a new start. Mabe for devloping a new consol, à new online, à new splatoon game, tryng to fixe there problemes that they couldn't fixe whit à some what "update". They have the money and the ideas. If that the case, that would be great.
I dont care abput game balance anymore seeing the new splatana outclasing roller class i just need third kits to have the expectations that splatoon 4 will be compared to splatoon 2, if not im not gonna buy any new splatoon games
I couldn't agree more that Splatoon 3 is a game with incredible potential yet still feels incomplete. In my eyes, its technical issues bog it down the most. Everything from input delay to its super imprecise and vague feeling motion controls (particularly compared to using the gamepad on Wii U) to bad online (also compared to Wii U) just makes this game feel so much worse to play. The game only SOMETIMES feels actually satisfying. Other times your motion controls need to be recalibrated, you're getting disconnected from matches even when it's not your own poor connection at fault and dying to laggy bloblobbers and krakens. Splats don't even register for like half a second sometimes, often enough time to get like 3 more shots on your opponent than would do 100 dmg before they actually go down, and you end up trading for no reason. The content rollout, balance issues and bad kits are just icing on the cake for me. If they re-released the same game with good online and motion controls to make the game play how it should in theory, I'd pay full price and feel like a sucker. That unfortunately can't happen until their next console which hopefully has the hardware to actually run games properly. If Splatoon 4 doesn't address these problems, I'll honestly bail on the series.

If they do third kits at least you're guaranteed one basically. I'm not 😭
I am really afraid because this feels the last season and is really sad.The game feels so empty and with no care and is dissapointing, there was so much potential and now people is even quiting the game. I still have hope like everyne but atthe same time seeing what they did with ACNH, I would be not surprised if they just kill Splatoon 3
Worst Splatoon game if they don't fix the attrocious maps in the end.
The solution here is to make the rotation system better or replace it in the next game, of course
I honestly doubt we'll get third kits for one reason: tableturf. The kits are mirrored for second kits but how could they do it for third kits?...
Don't get me wrong though, I really want second kits though!
Interesting point. That would really suck though if that's the sole reason why we don't get them
To be fair, there are absolutely no Toni Kensa weapons in the game, which I think is the only brand which currently doesn't have a weapon kit...
wipers kit couldn't just be mirrored but it got a second kit, maybe they'll just add a small brand logo to the side
They showed 2 of the mew weapon’s kit just because they don’t wanna show 2rd, 3rd, and 4th kit at the same update🫠There must be a 4th kit just like Splatoon 2🫠
theres a lot of (arguably weak) evidence pointing towards more stuff post-season:
- sheldons picks are a no brainer
- Kensa kit ads on Lemuria Hub
- there are a handful of Salmon run stickers that dont look like any of the bosses/kings currently available
- ashbinary’s datamine for there being more “[weapon] user” titles than there are weapons in the game
If the game released in september the final season is in september
I bet on this is the final season personaly :/. Even if make a new kit isn't that dificult, it make the game more and more hard to balance and we are already at the end of the time when the development team work actively on the game. So I don't think they want to take time to do it. Maybe we will have something like some special fest like another splatoween but I don't think we will have more sadly.
I think the sizzle season is the end cause I looked at catalog to see something I don’t know what type of item that said thank you for playing and also they brought back a crap Ton of stuff from past seasons too.
Splatoon 3 has 23 stages and people will still complain
No. Nintendo tweeted that there will be one more extra year for Splatoon 3
Link?
Be for real
Heard it on a UA-cam post but here
"trust me bro"
I can’t find it but if you search up a Splatoon content channel called ToastMaster1 you can scroll through the community post and a picture of SRL tweeted another year for Splatoon 3. @ToastMaster1
what ab sheldons picks??
Im dont ready for the end of splatoon 3.
3:43 Again I have to repeat this, its more likely that they are working on a new Animal Crossing instead of a new Splatoon game.
We can’t go out on THESE kits
Low expectations and rushed game
Still holding out for an update with custom kits in private lobbies.
It will be a super sick and awesome idea if they make a Splatoon 4 and inkings will be teenagers 👌👌👌🤔
I only got interested in splatoon recently, is it still worth buying the game if this is the last season??
yes
Is it still worth it in 2024? I mainly wanna play multiplayer, like I did in Spl2 in 2018
its still worth it yes. the playerbase is very active
i just got here!
No, ofc is not
I hope this is the last season tbh.
So I just got ripped off 😂
I dont care abput game balance anymore seeing the new splatana outclasing roller class i just need third kits to have the expectations that splatoon 4 will be compared to splatoon 2, if not im not gonna buy any new splatoon games
No
I couldn't agree more that Splatoon 3 is a game with incredible potential yet still feels incomplete.
First😊
