    Hi everyone! This is Peter from Awesound. Warmly welcome to this video.
    Today I want to share a tip that has really improved my voice so much and it is just so simple. So check out this video to get this amazing tip.
    So the secret I want to share with you today is called the vocal fry. So why do I do like this when I talk about the vocal fry? Well, you can say that your vocal cords lie like this in your larynx. Often we sing with a bit to much air like.....
    So we want to have a connected sound. We want to have the vocal cords together like this.....
    So how do we get that sound? How do we practice that sound to get that effortlessly in to our own singing? This is where the vocal fry comes in to the picture. Check this out...
    Well this might sound silly like a frog or a door or something. But this exercise really takes away all the pressure of your voice and takes away all the effort and you just sigh into the sound...
    So what you are doing is taking away all the effort from the vocal cords and just have the vocal cords connected like this.... making a very simple and this is really amazing for getting that connected sound.
    Once you've mastered it in a low register. Down here. You can also bring it up to a higher pitch. So try this out.....
    So, in your head voice it is much harder to get a connected sound, but this exercise is so good for getting that connected head voice. So I really recommend you to try this out for yourself to see the effect. Try this out for three days in a row and I promise you will see great results in your singing.
    If you like this video, please subscribe to my UA-cam channel and you will get daily tips on how you can improve your music. Thank you so much for watching. Bye bye for now!
    Other great vocal coaches are Brett Manning, Eric Arceneaux, Kevin Rogers and Ken Tamplin.

      I only use vocal fry as an exercise for the voice, not to use the sound itself for singing. So I'm not the best person to ask if you are looking to use vocal fry as a sound in singing.

    • @TroubleToby3040
      @TroubleToby3040 Рік тому

      I respect that the UA-camr here admitted he doesn't actually use vocal fry to sing with. The honesty is refreshing. But you can use it as a primary tool. I have for a long time and it is great for creating a sustainable effect that suits many styles of music. The main "secret" is to start the vocal fry wherever you find it easiest to do and then increase the intensity of volume and range while also remembering to RELAX your vocal chords more and more as you go up in volume and pitch. You MUST relax your vocal chords MORE as you increase volume and pitch so that you maintain the vocal fry. 👍👍👍

    I am really a beginner but I have a question is diaphragm involved or vocal chords in vocal fry and if I can do this cause I have asthma

    • @AwesoundTV
      @AwesoundTV  5 років тому

      This is primarily an exercise to identify cord closure. So the focus is to identify the sensation of how the vocal cords connect. The diaphragm is involved but no need to focus on it. The exercise should be done very relaxed and not with force. The exercise should also feel good. If it doesn't feel good due to your astma, don't do it. I am not a specialist in astma so difficult to tell. But if the exercise feels good then it does good for you. Hope that helps.

All the singers you hear in there actually know how to sing, I mean yeah rappers can sing but 78% percent of rappers use auto tune and that’s not all that impressive, as a vocal expert my self, this stuff takes practice and in the end it makes the users famous so don’t doubt this kind of singing, and also keep in mind that it is a tutorial so it’s not suppose to be the best, it’s just to help or to give an example so lay off a little bit.
