Today on BUILT we're talking to Steven - @spamsubie and Jane - @Liquidpyro about their matching(ish) Civic Type R and MKV Supra builds. These two cars are built to be dual purpose street/track cars that can do everything from grabbing coffee - to lapping Willow Springs. These two cars focus on driver feel, connection to the vehicle, and modifications that improve the two - rather than just putting up numbers on a dyno sheet.
Jane's Supra is the more mild of the two builds, featuring suspension upgrades in the form of RSR Coilovers to improve handling and eliminate wheel gap. Paired up with a set of Advan GT Premium wheels wrapped in Falken tires (which you can grab from our site www.threepiece... ) and some track focused brake pads to slow things down. Power-wise the car is mostly stock at the time of filming, as it was reverted to OEM spec to pass smog. The interior features a Bride seat, while the exterior sports a crimson red vinyl wrap, and choice aero bits to improve the appearance, and performance of the car. Jane's Supra has everything you need, and nothing that you don't.
Steven's Civic Type R is further along in the modification journey, however maintains the same ethos of track-focused car building. His FK8 CTR sports a set of RSR Coilovers, paired up with some arms to dial in the perfect -4 Camber all around. The wheels are the quintessential Volk Racing TE37 - these being the TE37SL variant ( www.threepiece... ) and are mated to some sticky R Compound tires. The engine and power are mostly stock - with an aftermarket intake and exhaust to improve the sound and (maybe) free up some horsepower. The CTR's stock seats are fantastic, so no need for improvement there - but the interior does sport an upgraded short throw shifter for those crisp upshifts and heel-toe downshifts on track. The exterior of Spam's CTR is wild - with a Gundam-inspired livery covering the rear half of the car, and track decals on the front fender. The fenders are widened to accommodate the larger wheel and tire setup, and aero bits are added all around for their functional or aesthetic benefits.

Supra. But I like the Honda. But if it was me I’d pick the Supra
