If the reflections of your neon lights look grainy and pixelated its because you need to uncheck [half res trace] under the screen space reflections tab. Doing that and tweaking with the other settings should get you to where you want.
Julio Cruz I do have it unchecked
@@TheDucky3D you did of course but a lot of people were asking why it didn't look like yours lol
Tysm your a literal lifesaver
thank you
Thanks I was wondering why mine did look crappy ! :)
What's the settings you ended up with ?
See this, Autodesk? This is called realtime Viewport rendering.
Please don't ask them to change. Wouldn't wanna shell out extra for the extra coding by their rocket scientists!
unfortunately no modifier stack in Blender
autodesk what? 3dsmax has options to create realtime rendering depending on the renderer...
@@ajsky1066 yea honestly fuck autodesk - and I am saying this as someone going into the car industry which is basically just a slave to autodesk. It's so fucking sad to see so many people cashing out to that scam of a product line
🤯🤙
0:28 in menu "Add cylinder" change "Cap fill type" to nothing.
1:09 for this one u can tap Ctrl + R and regulate the nuber of cuts with mouse wheel
6:52 u can also tap S and Shift + Z to exclude the Z axis and type the scale that u want
And you can tap Alt+f4 to get it done instantly
1:52 shift D and?
@@chand264 press ESC, you will see coordinate 000 so it is at the same postion of the other one. That wasn't clear
🤯🤙
This is the very first thing I've ever made in blender or any 3d software for that matter. It took me about an hour and a half in real time but it was super satisfying watching my final render. Thanks for the tutorial!
Jaydeep Gill that’s awesome
I was trying to be lazy but your comment motivated me
Everytime I try to do this, my Eevee just evolves.
Nice one lmao
Umm can you do one of those Sci-fi city scapes inspired from Tokyo, NYC and others
Yes please, maybe in that Synthwave style, in a loop, too.
something like Ghost in the Shell.Blade Runner/Total Recall
Honestly this was the most straightforward tutorial. You covered all the buttons you're pressing, kept the video length down, and nothing was drawn out. I wish all tutorials were this perfect
I'm currently obsessed with making synthwave music, so this channel is a goldmine🙌
Thanks for all the tutorials, my dude.
Other blender tutorials comment section: thanks God for 2x speed
We don't have that here, Nate has very fast videos
MBVSB L glad you like the videos
You think this is fast, Check out IanHubert on youtube, 1 minute tutorials xD
Check CGMatte
still watching on 1.5x :D
This is hardly fast, most of these tutorials could be done in less than 5 minutes like Ian Hubert or CGMatter.
You do these so fast! (I'm not telling you to slow down. I'm just impressed. )
One thing I would recommend is adding the keystrokes so beginner users that don't know the hotkeys can follow along much better. Other than that, this was a great video in my opinion! I may use it for my stream now :D
or let them watch a donut tutorial
🤯
ever since i started using blender , i watch only your tutorials, thanks once again
Truly amazing content. I'm sure it took you years to build up all this knowledge and we can learn it in a few minutes now.
I love that these tutorials are only around 10 minutes long, that way when I end up with a failure that looks nothing like what it should it isn't a huge waste of time.
Can you do a video about your global settings? I feel like my viewport/bloom never looks quite like yours.
🤯
Thanks for the videos. Been using blender for only a few weeks now and have learned a lot by watching your stuff.
You blew my mind as soon as you made the cylinder a triangle. I don't know why that never crossed my mind!
This was a great tutorial. For some reason. I find it very hard to follow tutorials, but youre style helps me and thats valuable to me. Thank you.
Now this is a good tutorial! To the point without explaining too much or leaving out important steps. Subscribed!
i love how you give out tutorials its honestly amazing and helps me learn so much
sick tutorial, quick and concise but still covering the important details well. and very cool flashy looking results, great job!
you don't need to change the interpolation animation settings in preferences, if you just select the key frames and click t, you can choose which interpolation type you want
I'm new to 3D, so for me the very idea of creating an abstract animation by modeling and dollying was pretty cool. Kind of makes me think of Trumbell/Kubrick building the slit scan camera for the star gate in 2001...only in software :).
Awesome tutorial. Started learning Blender with this tutorial.
Great video. I think "fghujk" is Hungarian for "triangle", but don't go quoting me on that. Peace
@@greenpig1670 Yes. Good to know, thank you. It was a joke. I would like you to feel equally free to joke about my native language, which is European Portuguese.
@@greenpig1670 Cool.
At least someone knows Hungary exists lol
3:31 I think you can animate random seed with driver #frame and a expression to your liking using modulo (%)
6:00 just click 1 or 3 on your numpad so you view from the y axis then add the camera click g, y hold down control and then move the camera
Awesome Ducky.. i like your videos a lot.. hats off to your creativity....
why does yours look so clean in realtime rendering
Cause his pc is better than ours
Wondering the same thing. Even with really high samples, mine is extremely grainy.
@@Pwittzzz lol a laptop is hardly high power
@@tomanizetic8375 it can 100% be, there are literally laptops with 2080 ti s in them...
Antares MX yea but the all compoments for laptops are remade, they carry the same name but a gpu for a computer will allways be more powerfull then the laptop one with the same name.
It also looks amazing to add a spin to it! (rotating the camera 360° from first to last frame)
This is really good. Me make a sci-fi into for my area 51 raid vlog.
this video was awesome, I kinda forgot about blender but now I want to go back and mess around with 2.8. (I also subscribed because I really like the tutorials you make, really really good videos) thank you!
For people trying this tutorial out, another way to reduce noise is to control the distance of the outer triangular surface. The distance between the two largely controls how your reflections and noise turn out. So try scaling in and out till you get the desired results !
Edit : I also figured out that the contrast and gamma can also play a huge role so you might wanna tweak those as well.
This is the best tutorial for newbies like me!! Thank you Nate :D
I am so glad I understand everything and not following it blindly
A bit late, but another thing that would be cool on this is to have the colors change as you're going through. I'm not sure about this, but I think you can have a keyframe on the base color/emission property, so you can make it fade between colors.
Dude..you changed my life :D Thank you !
Holy crap, that looks amazing. Will have to try that right now! Thanks, Nate! 🤩
how do i activate the eevee thing? like, how do i do the thing at 4:12?
edit: nvm i saw another comment and i found out what to do (its Z)
So I made a blender animation recently and I was just spamming keys to find the key to do this and for some reason I hit z first or second
Thanks!
Nice one! Made it in like 1h and it looks perfect :) Had some problems with the looping, but figured it out!
i am not getting this quality in same version
please make a video on settings to be set
I'm fairly sure you don't have to click apply... although there is an equally good chance I'm wrong. Don't know how the face selection part would work with it still open to change.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a little late with all this cause I took a 4 year break and feels like I am having to learn everything all over again lol.
I did run into a problem with the seamless loop though and I am thinking it has something to do with the materials randomness. At the very end of the animation it sort of studders.
Either way you are a great teacher and make some awesome looking stuff. Thank you again.
Simple and cool!
Love this. Im going to try to do this my self but mess around this other shapes.
Render in progress...thank you so much bro:X
This was super cool to replicate and easy to follow. Thank you!
Your tutorials AMASING!!
I love the videos man. Thanks for all the information
Great works and have been following your 5-6 tutorials. For even shorter videos you may try to duplicate after first duplicate by Shift+R. You most probably know that but for those of you who might be overwhelmed by duplicate process (such as me) can try that. Keep it up :)
I like the guy who said nice bro
Fast, easy & simple. Thanks dude, I can’t wait to use this on my next video!
Pretty cool, thanks for inspiration! 👍 Last time I tried Blender after some longer while it was like half year ago when Eevee was in beta and kept crashing quite often. Perhaps I could give it a try once again since it seems they've finally released a stable version.
Whoa smooth!! New sub :) Keep up the good tutorials mate!
hey i cant get my lights to shine and reflect it just changes the couler of the line
thanks man, this tutorial is great that I have learned a thought on this kind of animotion. Huge thanks!
Thank you so much for showing this to us! Amazing effect!
what did you use the first metallic material for? it was never assigned. Mine didn't come out as crisp as yours but I learned something new nonetheless. thanks.
thank you somuch, you even show from start to render tha's really helpful
the ctrl a shortcut did not work for me in 2.9 but from what i can tell 2.8 and 2.9 are almost the same in layout
You deserve more subs!
so much fun to following your tutorials! thanks
this is how tutorials should be, not only is it inspiring to watch, but also simple, this is why i dislike blenderguru i really didnt like any of his tutorials made me question why ppl even recommended him to me, unnecessary long talks goes on tangents takes too long, overcomplicates stuff thanks ducky coz of you ive actually managed successful renders now
1st attempt I some how managed to have the wireframe on the outside somehow and had to reset everything from scratch but once I was able to get to where I was I think it came out great! used blue and orange :)
only recently have i decided to switch to 2.8 eevee but it was worth it
My render really is awful, i don't know what's wrong with my eevee settings but i'm pretty sure i messed up something ^^". I have a granular aspect, and can't get a cool bright apsect like yours.
Aside this your tutorials are really cool ! and it helps me in my debut, blender is so complex that it's really Hard to do something on your own first ^^".
I selected random edges just like you did in the video but when I assign the emmision it makes the entire wire frame either blue or red. Im confounded because I literally did this successfully maybe three or four weeks ago now. Whats going on?
I have the same issue, somebody pls help lol
Edit: I guess thats because the random selections somehow are identical in some parts, and so the new emission deletes the valuses from the old one...idk know if that makes sense.
Anyway, in my case it helped to go to "select random"-->"Action" and i changed it from Select to Deselect and increased the percentage, I hope it will work for you
This is really dope thank you I had alot of fun making this!
what .file does instagram support for videos
Its cool, but can you make the camera shake or not move in the same height, like it moves in a circular pattern while heading to the front
It sound stupid but ima explain more
Imagine the camera going in the direction of Z and its going in a circular movement on the X and Y, it should be better, and even to make it better make the camera like its a person looking around while moving, like the camera tilts to the right a bit then the upper left so it looks like a better loop
I love the tutorial but having issue.. Mine doesn't move like yours does, I am at 4:47 and have all the same settings in Eevee, but when I press play nothing moves. I know I must be missing some step. But I am a beginner.
Hey Nathan, I was trying to follow along, but when I set the reflections on the outer triangle, I can get it to look the same but the reflections... curve. That's the best way to explain it. Any idea why? It doesn't reflect in 90 degree angles like yours and I'm not sure why!
Jeff Ramos I’m not sure
Only thing I can think of is probably Anisotropy
That might be a couple of things. Sounds maybe like you changed the Anisotropy or Anisotropic Rotation values on the Principled BSDF material for the outer triangle. Also check if you set the Roughness value of the material to 0. Another possible explanation is that you set the focal length on your camera to something wider than 30mm, which will give you the Blender equivalent of lens distortion. The shorter the focal length, the more distortion you'll get. Finally I recommend that you check the X,Y,Z coordinates of your objects. Having them misaligned could throw things off.
You loose me at "Shift D", when you do that the copy disappears without stating that you've deleted it, and somehow there are 2 triangle models, ones a wireframe and another is the model before adding wireframe, mines just left with a wireframe and nothing else? How does that work?
oh instead of left clicking at that part right click that separates it and puts it to the right place. sry for bad grammer
when I go to "Select Random" and select the percentage I like and then apply the material to the wire frame, it's only applying the material color to the entire frame and not to the random faces that I selected. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
I'm having the same problem. Did you figure out a workaround?
I love your tutorials! Thank U soooo muc! It's really helpfull! :D
Could you save the random seeds as vertex groups and animate between the groups instead?
Thanks for the tutorial, but did you have tutorial for glitcy on your outro? I really like that
After seeing new UI I tempted to learn blender, I'm still have zero skill
Joko JMC just keep at it
This would look great as a beat saber platform
Can't select the face of the wireframe step before random assigning. This happens a lot with blender. Are there short cut keys you are using that we can't see or a step missing. Using 2.8.1
I've been trying to follow your tutorial closely for the last two days now and I haven't had any luck messing with the Eevee settings. The color reflection as well as the color doesn't show up in the preview as well as the final product (the wireframe). I just would like some help, and please let me know if my explanation wasn't clear at all.
Watch my video called “my eevee settings” you just don’t have the right boxes clicked in ur eevee settings
I think this may be because you selected vectrices instead of faces when you wanted to add the materials ? (This was my problem)
@@TheDucky3D thank you!! this helped hehe, my eeve setting were messed up was mad coz i didn't know why it didn't look like yours (sorry newcomer here, and i already subbed :)) might consider putting a thumbnail with the link to basic videos like that one of eevee in the future? i mean for newcomers like me, cheers!
What if you want the camara to turn around in the "tunnel" would that be fairly easy to do?
Rotate on the Z axis in object properties
I downloaded Eevee for this tutorial and I'm confused on how he got that select weal up at 4:13, on the whole really good video and helped me get to grips with the new software
just click "Z" :)
Dyloh Official nah it’s not that, I worked that out half an hour intro the project 😂
@@Lucid0 it is Z...
@@ZenithQuinn this comment was ages ago but i think there was a setting i had to enable and then i had to hold z
I can use something similar to this to animate my viper launch from a Battlestar thanks man
Amazing, thanks
That was wonderful, great work! X
cool, hope i see more on this from you
Every time I try to render, it renders an image, not an animation. Or that's what I think it does because I don't where it saves the mpeg 4 file and how to play it. Can somebody help?
Hats off, so perfect!
Loving this tutorial, but running into an issue when I try and create the metallic texture, for the outer triangle, I've created the material while selecting the object but it just shows up black with no reflections! The lights from the wire frame look great, any help is appreciated!
Dave B turn in screen space reflections in ur eevee settings
how do you go to the camera
Quick question: Couldn't we just use a glossy material on the outer triangle?
Its like... whatever u want it to be. but if ur following what hes doing, no you cannot
I have a problem when you are in the random selection part, you get a percent but I get a ratio. How do I get a percent?
its the same thing, it's just a blender UI update.
@@ZenithQuinn Ok. I had already done it but thank you for your input.
Pls make some space vfx renders with Eevee
Thank You , For This Tutorial And Inspiration !
But I Also Have A Question , My Result Is Very Grainy What Can I Do To Fix This Problem ?
I have the same issue with these neon lighty tutorials with eevee mine look way grainier than his do with just default render settings. Anyone have any ideas?
Up ur samples

This is awesome !
Hey Duck, can i also make it in the new'er versions of blender like the 2.93??
You very fast uploading video thank you
Can you make animations for VR please?!
Animations like this are AWESOME in VR! Even better if the visuals react to the music you play.
Donic Musik normally those visuals are used for concerts where they have led screens

I know, but I´ve got some VR music visualizers that look like this and they are MINDBLOWING.
Would love to have more VR apps like this.
