    Mechanic and Service writer for repair shops that work on all makes and model of vehicles.
    99 out of 100 times the vehicle breaks down because lack of maintenance. The vehicles maintenance guide is there for a reason.
    Most people buy used cars that have been abused or neglected because its impossible to know the condition of the internal mechanism for that the vehicle was exposes to for years prior.
    Most people just know that if you put the key in and turn it on and go. There is a thousand mechanisms and chemical reactions that needs to happen every second for the car to work, and it function is consistent enough with proper car.
    Nothing is perfect and nothing is fail proof but it helps to pit a few minutes to do safety and function checks before driving and to learn the basics of trouble shooting or simple as changing out a tire, patch a tire and so forth.

    Mike have you gone over strategy regarding dead times? Taking small orders within a few miles for $3 $4 $5 dollars like Starbucks, etc…doing a full week of 40 hours twice to see an average day in your market. I do just Uber eats and have found I also look at every hour as individual hours…maximize your hour by hour I try to take the $4 to $5 orders as long as they are within 2 miles. Meaning if you know your area well after time you can estimate how long it will take to get to the restaurant and then calculate the miles from there…you get paid your miles to the restaurant so know your mileage to the pick up spot and the miles to drop and then make your decision. There are times when it takes more time to get to the restaurant than it is to drop! Then stick around the drop point a little while to see what you can get. It’s the little things!

    My market rarely has ever had bonus pay. That’s probably why my earnings haven’t changed much year over year. I do admit it got real slow from mid October to mid December but then it picked up a lot. Now I’m January it’s back to normal.

    Thanks for the great advice Mike. After watching some of the UA-cam channels about food delievery, I’ve started to be more strategic with what orders I accept and pay more attention to the dollars to mile ratio. My hourly average has gone way up. Not dashing during slow times also helps me be more efficient with my time.

    Dispensers at every store is different, not just the store but each wmt employee will try to enforce whatever rule they feel like. Been sparking for three years and for the first time an employee said I should stay in the car. How do I verify missing or damaged items, or scan labels? I'm not crawling over the seats to do it. That rule should be for customers not spark drivers.

    I started last summer and did really well: Most shifts averaged $25 an hour but also had shifts where I made $30-$40/hour. Didn’t do many shifts over the winter but now that the weather is nice I’ve been trying to get out more and noticed a significant drop off in offers and quality of offers. Tried to do a lunch shift today and got an offer for $21 for 21.5 miles. Really??? Got frustrated and quit lunch then went back out at 5:00 for dinner shift. I was out for 90 minutes and got one offer: Made $6.50 for a 1.6 mile McDonald’s delivery. That’s it. So yeah, the golden age is over.

    • @Sasparillafizz
      @Sasparillafizz 5 місяців тому +1

      The schedule slots for DD are almost a week out (I think its 6 days) and come unlocked (in my area) at 3pm in the afternoon. (Verify that is the time it unlocks for you firts) then set an alarm daily for it (might be a different time in your area BTW). My schedule unlock times have shifted bouncing around from 9pm at one point to midnight (when I wasn't driving much) to 3pm lately. (So I think they mess with the times and or their might be levels of schedule time unlocks based on the amount driving you do for them) Best of luck.

They said that I needed to go to a hotspot or to start at a new location. Have you ever ran into anything like this now I’m back in California and still having gotten a head from DoorDash. I only have one issue with this. Anyone doing these apps knows full well. They are destroying their car. Whether they have one car two cars or five cars. The problem only lies if you have one car and cannot afford to replace it. The depreciation you take on this is already paid back to the tune of twenty eight cents per mile from your deduction. The problem is people spend that because they think That is theirs it's not it belongs to their car. That is how you will go broke doing these

    For me having thousands of deliveries under my belt I can honestly say money has gone down. Even this year compared to last year has been a fairly large difference. Now don’t get me wrong if your aggressive and a go getter . Also willing to throw a couple bad orders in the mix on your shift then hitting 100 in a day is still possible . Keep in mind that’s maybe 6 plus hrs a day for my city. Big events and weather will still change a day and add more orders giving you a better chance to kill it on a shift.

      In my city, if I work 7am to 7pm, I can make $200 to $250 on a weekday. On weekends, $250 to $300.
      Do I make this working 6h to 8h? Hell no. Only 10h to 12h.
      For me is not super tiring. But I know some people cannot take shifts that long.
      I know that one can earn more than I do. The thing is that I started using gig apps less than 1 month ago.
