Griffin Armament, when are you guys gonna get an Explorr 224 taper mount over to Pew Science for testing? I would love to see the full sound characteristics/behavior of this can as soon as possible!
Probably never. The cost is phenomenal, and higher for Griffin Armament than for every other customer I have spoken to. The pricing bias alone indicates strong likelihood of bias in the results of the reviews which are often largely driven in their outcomes by the commentary. The fact that OSS cans are portrayed as leading is itself revelatory of the total gaps in the method overall. Go watch the Iraq Veteran 8888 Flow 556K video test, and look at those numbers and tell yourself the method that calls that performance leading is relevant.
How was the flash under nods? I got an HRT that's been in jail for a while now. It was supposed to go on a specific night fighting pistol build, but... well, you know, the ATF happened. So, I was doing a 13.9 P&W build. The HRT doesn't accept any of their larger muzzle devices, so the build is impossible. I'm looking at a throwing a DL5 or explorr 224 on the pile. I think the explorr will attach sans Dual-lok, but I'm not sure. Man I can't stand how oppressive our government is getting.
Great video! Which muzzle device(s) were used for the 3 cans? I assume all the rest (gas block, BCG, buffer and charging handle) remained constant. Thank you!
We used the devices shown on the unsuppressed shots for the Griffin cans, and the Dead Air muzzle brake for the Sierra 5. The Muzzle brake will provide the best flash reduction performance for silencers, contrary to what people would think. The flash hider does nothing for sound or flash inside a silencer.
what about the larger dual chamber brakes like their paladin model? would that offer any extra advantages or possible disadvantages or remain constant?@@austingreen3888
Griffin>Dead Air. All honesty the dual lock vs the xeno is not even a fair comparison. Direct thread to a locking collar is just the way to go especially for any sort or duty use.
@@newerest1 A lot of times tone is used as an argument by people who lose in peak sound testing. Tone was not with the Sierra 5. It had average or worse tone. It sounded at least as loud indoors as it metered.
I’m still going with dead air bc they’re the most customer oriented suppressor company in the industry. Mike is the man and I know I can trust their products to save my life.
We bought two products- one has customer service issues with the mount. That's 50% for batting 100% in our very small case study. I think that's a low bar for trusting a product with your life.
Love to hear an update. Deadairs amazing customer support apparently went to crap after the Sierra 5 issues. Dozens of pages on ARFcom with customer service ghosting people for broken cans. Deadair is refusing a recall.
This video made me feel good about my purchase of my HRT 556

I was just wondering that today, also should send over a Recce 5
Yes, this absolutely needs to be tested against the plethora of other suppressors already tested on the Mk18
If you listen to the j situation podcast, Jay recently said that he is booked for Pew science testing through the rest of this year.
@@armenchuck great to hear it!

Thank you for putting this out! Impressive flash performance!
You guys should definitely do more of these, great video
Ran a dual lok 556 at a night vision class and got comments on how good it sounded good job GA

@@goawaybaizuo were are you getting info about the hrt not accepting their larger muzzle devices?
Whats this HRT I see? =) Excited to learn more!
I purchased a griffin recce 5 in may of last year and still haven’t received my stamp! Now I want one of these 😅
Great performance, going to get one. Just wish you guys made a muzzle device for a 13.9 barrel!!
Is the stealth flash header enough? 2.6” overall length?
@@Jbon2424 website says its 2.25" you need 2.7"
Now they do
What has better flash performance this or the PSR?
If we had to rank in terms of flash performance: (1) HRT-556, (2) PSR-5, (3) DUAL-LOK 5

Which can is the one at 25 seconds? I can’t seem to find it on your website?
That's a new one, it'll be a little while before that one is available to consumers
I love the tone of the MK1. I need to join the 2 tax stamp club soon.
Amazing sound performance from the Griffin cans, lighter, and better flash too!! All around great! Good job guys!
Do this again with the new rugged razor 5.56 and Helios QD Ti

Cooool I just emailed them about this
Do you guys have anything for the new 8.6 blackout that Faxon is doing?
Not yet, no. Since it's so new and unsure if it's going to stick around in the market, you won't see it in our media anytime soon
Back in the day it was AAC and Gemtech. Now look who's come along.
Not so sure about that. They have been really good at market trends and also have probably the widest selection of muzzle devices and adapters
Nice
The tone of your suppressors is much sharper than Dead air cans. Decibels are fine and dandy, but the tone matters more when its that close.
The tone of the Sierra 5 was loud at least indoor. 6DB muzzle isn't very close at all.
100 percent agree with you man, I’ll take tone over decibels any day
tone sounds like an unmeasurable BS subjective thing

@@newerest1 it may be subjective but it’s certainly a real thing, if you shoot enough cans you will notice it especially with different materials.
