Loved all your tips! I’d also add that a more tailored blazer is more professional looking than an oversized blazer with the seams falling off the shoulders. Thanks Lydia!
Great tips! Please keep in mind though that colors and pattern can be your style and still be classy and also in some areas of business it’s also very appropriate! Keep up what your doing! 🤩💕
How about a video on how to dress up jeans? I’m an attorney at a law firm, and post covid we’ve been dressing very casual. Nice change of pace but I’m totally not used to wearing jeans to work.
I would choose an elevated colour like cream or dark blue or grey then dress them up with a shirt and elegant kitten heels. Jewels, belt and neat hair. 💁♀️
I’m in Australia and I agree. We are all wearing jeans and more casual items. Most people still working at least 2 days a week at home. At work I do jeans with shirts and blazers and shoes or boots (not sneakers). I do sneakers with black pants or suits to dress them down. 😊
I agree lately work wear has been very very casual. So much that coworkers would wonder where I'm going if I dress that elegant. Lots of jeans, hoodies, and regular tees. I would usually wear a blazer with jeans and a normal tee or something similar
Love your hair at this length. The long bob looks so much classier and stylish than long, draggy, extension- looking hair. I also appreciate this video even though I am retired. We all have functions to attend that call for a proper look. ❤
Just a comment to say a massive thank you for your instructive videos. I'm a doctor and mum of 3 kids under 4 in Aus. I have always loved style but since "converting" to minimalism and a capsule wardrobe two years ago I've had no idea how to make my outfits look classy, stylish and put together. Until now - after finding your channel I've finally got some ways to put outfits together in a way that looks up to date. I really appreciate the content showing how to style your existing pieces, rather than just showing off a new haul or adding more and more to your wardrobe. Finally, a wardrobe that works for work and home. Thank you!!!
WOW! I was going to skip this one because I don’t work in an office. However, I saw several tips that I can incorporate into my everyday styling like pairing color with black-better with neutrals. Thanks Lydia ❤
Some good info in this video. I will say, living in a place like Florida that is very warm, open toed shoes are very much accepted in an office environment. As long as they aren’t flip-flops or casual sandals, etc. a healed open toed shoe looks nice and works.
Your outfits are always lovely and this video reminded me of how much cultural norms within different industries and locations affect what is appropriate. In some parts of the US I've definitely felt like I need to dress more casual in order to be workplace (or anyplace) appropriate. The elegant styles will have people wondering why you are so dressed up and you get looks in places where people just wear jeans and Patagonia jackets. Sometimes I'm not sure when I should conform or when I should just dress as nicely as I want.
thanks for this super useful one Lydia! love it ❤ agree on the open toe but what could be workwear solutions for when it's HOT? That's a struggle of mine. I live in Italy most months, and in summer it can easily get to 35°C or higher 🥵 so hard to look professional while staying decently fresh
Really love your styles. Helped me massively in my capsule wardrobe, could you do ones for mums - how to look stylish whilst being very practical and cleaning loads. You should also add DONT wear sunglasses at work in the description!
Lovely tips. Except for the shearling because sometimes this NYC winter cold doesn't allow for a smart coat but rather a functional coat. With all the walking and waiting on these cold elevated subway platforms we need warmth. I am defintely not a puffer fan but for those Polar Vortex days this is the only thing between you and hypothermia.
Thanks for all your dressing tips, good to apply in everyday life, not only in a work setting. Love your simple classic style! You look good with hair this length!
Love love love these suggestions... However the warm weather suggestions are a bit unrealistic in super warm weather. It's high 30's early 40's deg celcius for me this wk so I've gone for linen structured pants, higher neck tank (tasteful) and definitely open toe strappy sandals with a low block heel. Still holds a good look with a few classy gold pieces like belt and earrings to give it some formal or class.
Thank you so much for thinking of the audiences in hot places, too. You are the absolute best. All of your content is so helpful and a pleasure to digest! You are marvellous and concise. Maybe a video on how to match outfits per bag colour. I.e. example Outfits per colour of bag - so outfits that go with a creme/tan/white/green/Burgundy/ taupe/dark brown, for example. I know youve already done this with the new gold bag really well already. This could assist people in getting the most wear out of a particular bag or decide whether to commit or not commit to a bag purchase based on their wardrobe they have to match with it. I'm curious 6 your opinion on Songmont bags (they seem to be versatile). Regardless, I'm looking forward to your next video, whatever it may be!
Very useful video. I'm often tempted down the chunky knit and fluffy coat route as the office I go to is so cold in winter (and speaking as a 59 Yr old!). Uniqlo ultra heat tech tops have been my saviour though!
I recently started a new job, so this was very helpful! Love to make outfit interesting, and most of the time, I do it with a fancy shoe 😊 Thanks for defending a cardigan - I actually prefer it to blaizer .
I love your hair so much like this, very neat and healthy looking. Oops, I didn’t know you shouldn’t wear heavy knits to work 😬 It did cross my mind that it looked a little casual - even over a shirt - but will bear in mind to wear lighter ones next winter 😅 loving office work wear tips! Thank you 😘
There are no “shouldn’ts” in style - do what you love! I wear chunky knits to work and they definitely look good with the right pants. I don’t wear wide leg pants as I’ve yet to find ones that look right on me. Everyone is different!
Yes you’re right! 😃 Anything can work depending on how you combine it, I’ll keep wearing them, thank you!🤘😘 Try wide leg trousers from affordable brands such as H&M to find which shape suits you best, then once you’ve tried and tested them, buy more expensive ones. To me, high waisted ones suit me best and are very flattering 😅 Have fun finding your style!
Wonderful ideas Lydia! I love the suit you're wearing. It's just beautiful. I was wondering if you could do a video on outfit outfits for occasions like a day time party/birthdays. I'm going to my stylish aunt 70s birthday lunch at a hotel in a month and I've starting reflecting on what to wear.
I wear nursing uniform for work but ive taken note of these tips as i like to dress 'smarter' on my days off as dr martens, cargo pants and uniform top dont quite hit the spot. 😉❤❤
Thank you very much for all your advices. Your videos remind to me to "formulas" that are easy to follow. Very practical, as my clothes are completely different from yours, but advice is still working perfectly. P.S. I am very precise in selecting the channels that I subscribe to. I have been watching for some time now and yesterday after another one great "formula" learned, I subscribed without any doubts. P.S 2 - I really enjoy spending internet time with you. I truly admire your personality and behaviors.
@lydia, first thank you for creating this kind of content. Maybe, based on your knowledge , could you help us to combine colours to those who actually like more colourful outfit... sort of combination and ideas... Will be so good, so in the first outfit with the colourful blouse , what trousers or how can that be dressable for office, if possible? Thanks!
Love your videos! One little tip- is it possible for you to have the text in black instead of white? It’s really hard to read against the white wall/background or any bit of the background that is lighter. Thanks !
How do we protect the collar of a suit if wearing without a collared shirt or polo shirt? Could you please also talk about material - e.g. the suit you linked is not from natural fibers and often looks and feels cheap
I do love your videos, but I will say I can’t wait until this oversized trend is done. I like straight leg, but it’s too easy for the oversized blazer/wide trouser to look too slouchy.
I’d have to take that coat off to drive to work but agree on the open toe shoes, cleavage is not appropriate for the office be it toe, breast or armpit. My office has air con wars, it’s too hot 25 degrees one minute then someone turns it down to freezing 16 😅
We should definitely think of these as “guidelines” not absolute dos and don’ts. Everyone’s work situation is different and I wish Lydia had acknowledged that. Also, body types are different (especially after having kids!) Low heels do not look as good on my body as high heels, which make me more proportionate- and are still plenty professional. I’ve been walking successfully in heels for over 20 years and I def do not clomp around haha. It just depends on the person and workplace- style is not a one size fits all solution so this video would have been more effective as a tips video, instead of coming across like dictating workplace style.
Don´t: sunglasses indoors are not acceptable. 😅 Anyway, not all offices are created equal. Most types of offices in my country are perfectly fine with jeans and sneakers.
Thanks Lydia. You are such a pretty lady and you have generally great style. However, I think you lose your way with those extremely baggy pants, which do nothing for your lovely figure. Ditto for the very oversized blazer. Way too big, and sort of out of date today. Why not stick with body-skimming, flattering pieces?
I wasn’t going to watch, because I’m retired, but saw a couple of tips I can still incorporate. Glad I stayed.
Same for me. I still got a lot out of the video.
Loved all your tips! I’d also add that a more tailored blazer is more professional looking than an oversized blazer with the seams falling off the shoulders. Thanks Lydia!
Agreed. An oversized blazer doesn’t look polished in a work wear setting. Or a vest under a blazer instead of a blouse.
Great tips! Please keep in mind though that colors and pattern can be your style and still be classy and also in some areas of business it’s also very appropriate! Keep up what your doing! 🤩💕

Don't wear them. I've never owned a pair.

I’ve learned so much from you Lydia! Defo my favourite fashion content creator❤❤
Agree! She makes you look cool at any age.

There's something very useful about the Don'ts, especially hearing why and seeing examples. Thank you!
WOW! I was going to skip this one because I don’t work in an office. However, I saw several tips that I can incorporate into my everyday styling like pairing color with black-better with neutrals. Thanks Lydia ❤
This was so helpful. In Florida, we tend to wear nice sandals more to work in the summer.
Could you give some outfit ideas for casual nights out in winter, out for a drink, meal with friends, etc? (UK)
Love the workwear inspiration! More please ❤
Some good info in this video. I will say, living in a place like Florida that is very warm, open toed shoes are very much accepted in an office environment. As long as they aren’t flip-flops or casual sandals, etc. a healed open toed shoe looks nice and works.
Great video and tips❤, what about how to wear jeans, but elevated? I work in a semi-formal workplace and I love wearing jeans 😅
Great video! A business casual lookbook would also be super helpful!
Your sense of style is remarkable. Thank you.

Yes! More work wear outfits for different seasons as well. Love the content
Really love your styles. Helped me massively in my capsule wardrobe, could you do ones for mums - how to look stylish whilst being very practical and cleaning loads. You should also add DONT wear sunglasses at work in the description!
Thank you so much for this! I actually started watching your videos as workwear inspo so it’s nice to get a dedicated video for them!
Colorful pieces look gorgeous with colorful pieces 🎉and prints look good with printed things even if they are very different, it worth to try😊
Learning so much from you over here in Indiana.
Lydia’s Amazing Workwear Tips! Always learn something from you. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I like the style of your clothes. I work in a rural treatment center and I wonder if dressing nice is appropriate.
Thank you! This was helpful. Your do’s and don’ts help make your points very clear.
Absolutely. I love puffer coats in ice cold winter. Keep warm when outside. You can always be chic underneath. 😘
Just a moment to enjoy that your example of a colourful look is beige 🤣
Thanks for all your dressing tips, good to apply in everyday life, not only in a work setting. Love your simple classic style! You look good with hair this length!
thank you, very useful I liked the last one. I'd need more of this type - summer workwear, but with long sleeves.
I love your fashion style and the various pieces you put together. I get so many ideas for updating my wardrobe thanks to you! 😊❤️
Excellent episode, Lydia.
Thank you for considering us warmer country dwellers. ❤ Love your style always.❤
I love these types of videos, more please! ❤🙏

Sounds like a very elegant summer outfit 👍
Thanks for your tips Lydia 😊 Love your videos, you are one of the best fashion content creators in my opinion!

I have this black COS coat as well it's amazing. Also, very great video for workwear.
Very useful video. I'm often tempted down the chunky knit and fluffy coat route as the office I go to is so cold in winter (and speaking as a 59 Yr old!). Uniqlo ultra heat tech tops have been my saviour though!
Same 😆😅comfort just takes over style 😅
I recently started a new job, so this was very helpful! Love to make outfit interesting, and most of the time, I do it with a fancy shoe 😊
Thanks for defending a cardigan - I actually prefer it to blaizer .
Great workwear ideas. I really like the black dress that your modeled.
Thank you 😘

I love DOS AND DON’TS!!!!!!
Really love this workwear inspiration! Thanks, and hope for more 7 more EP.
Hi, I wonder if you also have tips for pregnant women? Especially workwear but also leisure time. I find your tips so inspiring!
Oh wear a dress! 😊 with heels and a blazer. Then you’re already sorted for next spring/summer events 💁♀️. Above all, have fun with your aunt 🥳
@@bluebird-rv5to I might consider that. Good idea, thanks! Thank you, looking very forward to seeing her again❤
Very, very helpful. Thanks. I like how you creatively made this video.
Love your outfit lydia, like the colour leather jacket,I have a black one.like the kitten 👠. I'm more plain wearing where it comes to clothes.😊
I wear nursing uniform for work but ive taken note of these tips as i like to dress 'smarter' on my days off as dr martens, cargo pants and uniform top dont quite hit the spot. 😉❤❤
Great tips! In the first outfit idea you look exactly like Olivia Benson from SVU
Hair looks great😊
Me encantan tus videos de lo que no debemos y lo que sí se debe usar. Saludos desde Mexico.
Excellent. Love these videos! Thank you.

Gosh your hair is hairing and popping 😍 ❤
Thank you, Lydia. Great ideas.
Love your hair!! Any chance of you doing a get ready with me? With doing your hair and makeup?💖
Make another video for warm climate, this was very useful.
Very very good advice and absolutely right
miss your what I wore in a week videos xx
Thanks for the video! This was very informative!! More work wear videos pls!

Great. Thanks. Yes more please.
Hey, great video! Does 7cm heel is too high for the office? 😊
I'm retired, but I think as I age some, my wardrobe should. Respect the age.❤
Love this! Could you recommend a nice trench that’s affordable please? I’m in the US 🥰
Great video. How should you wear a fussy neckline blouse then?
On its own? As is?
can you also do a workwear video that I slightly less formal xx
I loved it!!!! Thank you so so much!!
The wide leg trouser with the oversized blazer is a no for me.
Great tips, thanks a lot. Is it possible to make a teachers' work wear vedio?
How do we protect the collar of a suit if wearing without a collared shirt or polo shirt?
Could you please also talk about material - e.g. the suit you linked is not from natural fibers and often looks and feels cheap
I do love your videos, but I will say I can’t wait until this oversized trend is done. I like straight leg, but it’s too easy for the oversized blazer/wide trouser to look too slouchy.
So useful. Thank u!
Great outfits/styling ideas Lydia. It all depends on everyone's workplace of course, but lots to take away from this video. 🤍Tfs
do you recommend a neutral beige coat or beige coat with hoodie for spring?
Thank you.
I’d have to take that coat off to drive to work but agree on the open toe shoes, cleavage is not appropriate for the office be it toe, breast or armpit. My office has air con wars, it’s too hot 25 degrees one minute then someone turns it down to freezing 16 😅
Dude , you said not to wear color&/or patterns with black, and in the next style you did exactly that!
How about workweek accessories and makeup
We should definitely think of these as “guidelines” not absolute dos and don’ts. Everyone’s work situation is different and I wish Lydia had acknowledged that. Whatever happened to hosiery?

What a big floppy suit
