Aw the poor amphioxus, she is still cute though!! I bet she'll start growing in no time and will be even more beautiful than you imagined. Hope you have a lovely week and are able to decompress💚💚
Thanks, LeaAnne! I'm working on them right now and just stopped for a little break :). I'll have a terrarium jar tour soon. They are looking sooo good!!!! Thanks for being here!!!!
Hi Gena, those were some beautiful hoyas at the garden center, so jealous. We don't have any nurseries close by that offer a good selection. Your begonia is so cute. I'm looking forward to seeing your terrariums come together. Thank you and have a great week. ❤
Hi, Sylvia!!!! Hopefully more nurseries will step up their Hoya game. This is the first time I’ve come across such a big selection. Maybe it will become the norm at some point 🤞. Thank you!!! I worked on the terrariums today. Now I want to let them settle in for a few weeks, and then I’ll share them here….can’t wait!!!! I’m just crazy about them. Thank you I hope you have a great week as well 🥰.
Definitely! They were way in the back. The place has changed since last time I was there. I think they took over more space from that wholesale part of the shop???? But if you walk all the way back they are on the left, in the area where they typically have their outdoor plants.
I love these type of garden centers. When we lived in No Va., we had several. So much to look at. Here in central Fl, we don’t seem have them and if we do, I haven’t found them.
I’m surprised! I’d think they would be on every corner in Florida!!!! That’s got to be so tough when you are used to being able to go to them. Even if you don’t buy anything, they are just so relaxing to visit.
OMG those Hoyas!!!! I live in Kansas but definitely would like to take a trip to Colorado just for your plant shops. My daughter told me that if we did go into one of those plant shops, they’d have to put a child’s harness with a leash on me and rein me back in when I got too close to them! Lol
Hi, Molly!!! I love your current obsession!!!! They had so many awesome cacti too. I really want that fuzzy white mamularia ( I probably butchered that name lol). The pots were gorgeous too. My favorite were the round brown ones with giant drain holes.
@@ThePinkTrellis ok I'm with you on the fuzzies! I do know IF they get mealies though they're hard to get off....or even see. I know exactly what pot that was and I loved it too. I love brown pots!
What an amazing shop, I would have been in heaven there and found it hard to stop myself from buying so many great things. I’m surprised you only came home with one plant but then you seem to be a savvy shopper. I enjoyed going shopping with you, thanks for taking us along.
@@renatecormick7399 hi, Renate!!!! I had to stick to my plan and budget. Trust me, if I could, I would have came home with a lot more 😂. There were so many beautiful things. Glad you enjoyed it 🥰.
That poor begonia! I have full confidence ghat you will be able to rehab it into a beauty. It's funny that you're becoming so interested in succulents and I'm delighted by it! I find that as my space for tropicals is running out since they insist on getting bigger and bigger, and keeping up on their watering and finicky needs, my interest in new ones is waning. But! After avoiding cactus for most of my adult life (traumatic childhood run-ins with too many cactus spines growing up in desert areas) I'm now beginning to obsess on them. I keep adding more and more cacti to my Etsy cart in a mad fantasy splurge...and then that leads to searching out the perfect pots to accessorize those dream cacti and succulents 😲. The only thing keeping me from pushing any buttons is that what little sanity I have left is still hollering loudly enough to wait and see what can be found at my local Home Depot. 😁. As always, ❤ your channel! Perfect for Sunday mornings with coffee.
I am completely obsessed with them at this moment! It’s funny how my plant obsessions change throughout the year. This time of year is always succulents and cacti lol. I love your description of your mad fantasy splurge!!!! I always wonder if I’ll one day accidentally purchase my entire cart lol. I always have a full cart. And while those items are sitting there, many times I’ll get a coupon code from the sellers to come back lol. That’s always nice. I’ve found some gems at Home Depot before and I think/feel the same as you….check Home Depot first before buying online!!!! Thank you 💚💚💚.
Hello, absolutely loved this video ( & not a big bx store Thank U for that) I agree just in the viewing I saw Hoyas I've never heard of & Thank U for the name & pricing. I'm a lover of Hoyas. Appreciate the video
Hi, Dorothy! So glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, most likely you won't see any big box store shopping videos from me. I just don't enjoy doing those at all. Love filming at independently owned shops though :). I had never heard of a few of the hoya and definitely never seen most in person. Thanks for watching!!!!
That begonia is beautiful, hope it survives and thrives for you. I was drooling over the Hoya! I haven’t found a local nursery that sells uncommon Hoya in my area. 🥺
Hi, Karen!!! I think it's going to be ok. Still keeping my fingers crossed. The hoya were fantastic!!!! I just wish I had room for more but I have to limit myself :).
I wish I could send a photo, but I’ll do my best to describe my mini glass canister globe-like terrarium. At IKEA they sell a 5 inch diameter black plastic saucer, I use as my bottom portion of the terrarium. I buy the 4 and 3/4 inch by 7 inch tall flat bottomed glass canister. The glass has straight sides. I place my potted flame miniature violets on the saucer and cover with the flipped canister, and voila! Instant terrarium.
Hi Gena! I loved all the neat cacti and succulent selection.....at the beginning I saw a varigated strawberry begonia...I have a regular one, and almost bought a var one last year.....and still want a varigated one! I loved that hoya Patricia! Itvwas so so pretty, never seen that one before.....love all the cute closed jars you are collecting and finding :) is that a begonia A......I want one so so much too...I was hoping to find one local but never have seen one! It should do well for you! Yeah love it! They are so so pretty....my wishlist is getting pretty long for this year....I should make a real list! Love the video thanks Gena ♡tina
Hi, Tina!!!! I think I know which one you are referring to….so pretty!!! I see why you want one. Yes, begonia amphioxus….it’s amazing. I hope you can get one. I can always send you a cutting at some point 😊. My wishlist keeps growing too…you aren’t alone. thanks, Tina ❤️❤️❤️.
Love my begonia ampioxus hahaha 🤣 spelling terrible. She arrived in perfect condition and is living happily in a terrarium. Will need to get her some moss friends
Hi I did not realize you live in my neck of the woods. I do Like that nursery . Spent a bunch during their sale. Do not know if southwest greenhouse has up dated their cactus and succulents lately, however it has good selection.(on Harlan) The owner grows a lot of them. Have you been to City Florals?
Hi! I haven’t been to City Floral but I have been to Southwest Gardens, about 2 years ago. I don’t travel much for plant shops, only if I’m in the area anyways, I’ll look to see what’s around. It’s too easy to just order online 😊. The Flower Bin is pretty fantastic for succulents and cacti and I’m lucky it’s right here, like 10 minutes away. So if I need a plant shopping in-person fix, it’s pretty great!!!
The only close place for plants for me is the grocery store ad every once in awhie I can pick up a good one I do not have. That is 44 miles round trip. Other plant stores are the long 90 mile round trip. i really have a hard time justifying going that far unless I really need my supply of groceries. I think I have an eye doctor appointment on the 28 so maybe I can hold out that long. Will see how it goes.
The grocery stores around me get some decent plants now and again. Like just this past Friday they had a pink princess!!!! And it had variegation!!! I was tempted, but I already have one. I definitely don't need two LOL.
@@ThePinkTrellis NoI do not even want one. PP that is. My Hoya Australis, not the Lisa. I still have a nice one. suddenly died. Are you going to have any in your shop when shipping can happen again?
