I have this perfume! I just got it back in January. I hate powdery perfumes but I love this one. , especially when I found out the backstory. Ralph`s inspiration behind this perfume was his mother. He grew up in the 1950s when Hollywood glam was at its peak. When he would go to kiss his mom goodnight as a little boy, he would smell her makeup and that was how he created this perfume.
What a coincidence! This is my scent of the day! :-) I also love Chanel’s Misia and Replica’s Lipstick On. They all have that powdery, old school make up vibe but they’re also each so different and lovely.
I recently ordered a sample of Lipstick Rose and I am in love! Definitely going to be a full bottle in my future. Thank you for this review, I agree with you 100%.

I concur! I absolutely love Lipstick Rose, and also the scent memory it allows me. It brings back fabulous memories of my Grandma, her gorgeous dressing table and her bright lipsticks! Back to present day: It smells like my luxury Lipstick collection too, which alsol have the same scent as Grandmas Lipsticks. I am so happy to have Lipstick rose in my collection, it is unique and makes me happy, and makes me also think of Paris. I love it when a perfume does that. Thankyou :-)

This sounds just perfect! I’m a fan of Replica’s Lipstick On and wonder how they’d compare. I’d also be curious to know if you’ve tried Sixteen92’s Mein Herr Marquis-I meant to snag a bottle of it at their Resurrection event in February but completely forgot to. (Notes include violet macarons, silk tulle, pearlescent powder, orris root and heliotrope-it’s a fun one!)

I Could pay endless compliments to Mr Scweiger - how incomplete my fragrant wardrobe would be if I didn’t have it. I’m literally wearing it on my wrist while watching this. Wow whole review spot on. For sure a gorgeous symphony. I can’t wait to wear something pink and throw it on cause I see shades of pink and purple when I take a wiff lol Was that pink tree with the rose on top next to you intentional?? Literally like a physical representation of lipstick rose haha Awesome review 🙏

You should have smelt it pre 2016. I first bought in the boutique on the left bank in Paris in 2007. I was in love. This now smells nothing like the original does on first smell. The dry down is similar for sure but the intense, amazing first "sight" is not there anymore. So very very sad.

Also have you tried Angel Dust by Francesca Bianchi? It’s glamorous vintage powdery perfume that has a carnal side. I think you’ll love it.

Francesca Bianchi Angel's Dust is another beautiful powdery makeup/boudoir fragrance that is a must-try for lovers of this genre.
I dont believe I have ever tried any of her fragrances

I love this fragrance and very fortunate to have this in a limited edition bottle! I usually don't take to fruity fragrances but this is an exception.

try and sample Ti Amo from Roja. I love that one. the cocoa adds a nice bitterness with gorgeous notes (and a prominent rose/iris heart)
