Hi buddy, I just done my 2018 F16 X6 upgrading the silver\chrome to blackdual grills. I fought with the same process of trying to lever the outside of the grill forward and then in a eureka moment and realised that removing top cover which holds the air intake channels in place makes it much easier and accessible to release the grill tangs. Simply remove the two 8mm bolts (one at each side) holding the cover it in place. (That's the cover your yellow screwdriver was resting on at the start of your video), then slide it backwards to release the locating slats. Boom you've got unfettered acces to everything you need.

What do you call the shiny chrome trim around the grill ? And also, are you able to just replace them, I already have a black grill but with chrome trim, can you just change the trim?

Simple to remove the whole intake cowling cover, it's only secured by two bolts.

Keep up mate. I got the same vehicle and would like to replace more parts to make it feel sporty.
It's easier to use your finger to realise the bottom tabs, it's a squeeze but alot faster

Access from the back does not work on 30D with shutter system in the way, guessing this is a 2 litre engine?

I just pull them and there come out the clips break on old grills but job done in 2 mins
