Bit of a tip, once removed the first one, don't install it straight away like the video. Instead you can get your hand it the hole where the first grill was removed, unclip with one hand, and pull with the other.
Correct, once one is removed. You have all the space to access the second grill

Thanks. Just did mine. For anyone trying this, the video doesn’t really show just how much effort you need. It needs a considerable amount so don’t be shy once the clips are out (but also don’t break the bumper.
I knew there was an easier way to do this, all these daft videos stripping the bumper off, thanks mate 👍 subbed n liked

You are both wrong, just pull it outside without any fucking sticking fingers inside and thats it. 10 times prooved
Warning: I reached behind the grille to pry the tabs up and there must be some kind of fibreglass material that I touched. I have microscopic cuts all over my hands after doing this. Definitely will wear gloves next time. It worked though!

Soft hands
For anyone struggling with bending the clips but them not releasing, if you can get your finger right in the middle where its raised (like a little wedge) its a lot easier. I really struggled with the first grill (and broke a tab), then the second took me about a minute
Just done this on my 4 Series, definitely don't need to remove part of the bumper as in other vids, thanks for the vid guys

Dude thank you so much to show it in a right way!!! I mean your technique (to loosen the grill by getting the finger behind it) is spot on. All the other videos i saw they are basically pulling the grill really really hard. Which i was not comfortable with.
Jus did this to my 330e. It was difficult to get out but I used a tool that Home Depot gave me to open my paint cans and it was amazing. It was curved and it could pull the tabs. Definitely need two people.
I reckon a right angle pick would make it even EASIER but yes no tools required
E93....new grills look great in the boot...i failed miserably after hr of trying....even loosened off screws top of bumper my hands far to big to get in there so F**k it i.ll keep the chrome ones or find a body shop to do the job....
Thanks for the advice. I had to use this in combination with removing the bolts at the top of the bumper. Some of the clips just dod NOT want to cooperate. Very grateful for the help!
This is great and yes beats opening the bolts and top part of bumper and stretching the plastic to fit your hand through. Plus alignment was always a problem that old fashioned way when putting the bumper back. Wow so easy I'll try it too...
I broke mine but ok. This ain't the proper way.

Cheers, used this method on my F36 and took less than 20 mins start to finish. Not sure why anyone would faff about removing bonnet screws, so unnecessary. Get your fingers in there!
Use gloves, mine were literally stuck to the bumper, I managed to get them off and lost most of the clips along the way. And a bit of skin

that is the totally wrong way to pull tht grill. pls dont do this guys ur most likely to break the harness. Open the bonnet remove the top screws above the grill portion slide ur hand through and unclip in gently.
Success and I don’t know CRAP about cars. I was willing to ante up out the wallet
This guys dont show how mush strength you meed especialy for the lower tabs (those motherfuckers are super hard to bend)

Mine wouldn’t budge at all, so I took a hammer and just broke it, both were smashed in 5 min, clipped on the gloss grill and that was that.
LOL - it did cross my mind to use a hammer at one stage. but this method does work, just need muscles and a high pain threshold ;)
Perfect exactly what I was looking for wanted to know what those clips look like
Tip once removing one grill reach behind the bumper while one grill is still out and undo the tabs on the other grill took me less than 6 minutes and was much easier that way
Practically impossible to do this from the outside unless you have some kind of hook tool. Top tip...do not bend the entire plastic tab back to release it (they'll break), you need to push the flexible lug in the centre of tab keeping it straight as possible..you'll thank me later

This is the worst tutorial every, when my grills shipped I wanted to see if I can do it without removing the bumper, when they came im trying to install them right now the clips won’t go down at all, I’ve broke the original clips I bent them and scratched the bumper trying to do it the easy way I could of taken off the bumper and installed it 15 times by now

I found the RHS easier and then I could slip my hand across to the other and that one was simple(s). Only problem in the first was the lower RHS one but I eventually finagled it out. Thanks for the video.

Would say the normal way of opening the bonnet is easiest

It’s ridiculous how hard it is and I don’t even have the correct driver to take the top bit off so thinking to just smash them out getting so annoyed
2017 m240i here. Didn't work for me either. The clips are just not budging. I can get my fingers right behind them and give it a decent amount of power and they just aren't budging. I've tried pushing into the car as well to give the clips more chance of coming loose. Nothing.
Just did this for my f31 in 5min thanks to your video. Luckily my fingers were long enough 😂
Just do it the right way, open the hood remove 8 easy screws and you won’t damage your bumper or the grills.

That's not easy..that's torture. Take the screws out and have it finished before your beer is done easy and painless.

I did mine using an even easier method. I carefully snapped 3 of the black fins on the grill to be removed and got my whole hand in making it even quicker.
As long as you don't plan on reusing the originals it saves time and the skin on your hands.

Tape around the paint. The clips can pop out and scratch the paint. When putting the new one in lubrate then with something so next time it’s not so hard.
Much Easy way it took me 1 minute tops i just did it on my F30 once you take off 1st one its easy to remove the 2nd one ... Thanks Gents

This is hilarious. You won’t get mine off without breaking your fingers. It’s actually impossible. Makes me realise this vid must have been set up before filming to make sure it’s easy to take out. Been trying for 30 minutes and I’m sweating and my fingers feel like they’re close to breaking. What a joke
