Possibly one of the most challenging jobs I’ve tackled on a car in years! RHD model and eventually had to unplug ECU and drop it down, however access was still impossible, strange with a car that has a full dealer history it would appear this filter had never been changed, I wonder why? Great video and commentary. I own a C30 2010 model and would love to see a video on installing a Bluetooth system that allows audio music streaming. Hacking the existing handsfree would be ideal, or at least a mod that doesn't look too messy/aftermarket..

I just got my C30 yesterday with BT. However I know there are BT receivers on ebay for $10 or less you can buy that come with a dual 1/8" plug. Plug one end to the receiver, the other into the 1/8" jack on the car, then use your phone to connect it to the receiver. Set the cars audio source to the audio jack, and you'll be able to play music from your phone into the car.
My Samsung S7 has a low volume output but I'm about to test the cars Amp using a USB stick and my 1/8" jack.

For RHD, it's still a headache to replace. To get access to those bolts, you'll need to remove the passenger side fuse tray beneath the glovebox.
    1. Lower the tray by loosening the two wingnuts
    2. Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the fuse tray, remembering which colours go where. Most have levers to release and replace them.
    3. Maneuver the fuse tray forward out of the bracket so it is no longer in the way
    4. Optional: Remove the bracket by removing the two nuts.
Now you should be able to get to those three bolts holding in the cover to the cabin air filter

For all you guys complaining about The Volvo guys beeing bad engineers. This is a Ford design. Everywere you read it says FoMoCo (ford motor company)
The procedure on a ford focus is exactly the same, uses the same filter. Even the stupid door for the filter with 3 screws is identical.
Stupid fucking ford engineers, I just went through this on my beloved Volvo V50 and I swore a lot thinking that this is typical ford stupidity, and I was unfortunatley right after a bit of research. 😂😂😂

Three tiny screws & bolts, that’s ALL? Two get loosened and ‘adieus amigos’?? I assumed that per-design, the pedals require MORE securing measurements… Besides an Uber-ridiculous placement of a cabin air filter - the vision of 3 little screws (why only 3, not 8 or 10?)(Personally, I’d be ok with 30). The cabin air filter is soooooo-secured - it takes an hour to fish it out; but THE pedals, separating life from death, deserved 3 tiny screws - that’s all…? Hmmmmmm
