My parents had a Colonial style home in Santa Monica California. After my mom passed the House was sold eventually and the person who bought it tore it down to build a fancy mansion style home. I think the exact same thing. If we keep tearing down older houses we won’t have any historical homes left.
An honest to goodness American Mansion requires the best part of 3 generations, bound and driven by a unique manic tenacity. The raw materials and talent are "eversoclose" to extinction altogether..A genuine American historical tragedy...
Love the colours! The house is gorgeous. I grew up in a home in Northern Ontario, also built in 1975, same exact front door! Love the design. Seeing these homes bring me a sense of comfort, reminds me of simpler times, just imagining a family entertaining in that home, cooking, christmas Day. These homes had character back then.
I totally agree with you Ethan. Once they’re gone, they’re gone forever......this is a crazy, cool house. It’s too bad it was so cut up. I’d love to have seen what it looked like as a single family home.
Thank you for sticking to the house and leaving the dead animal out of the shot LOL! This place is amazing… Brings me back to my childhood in the 70s! It’s nice to hear someone younger appreciates the style! Keep safe. 😊
That carpet with the cut pattern is called sculptured carpet. Shag is longer. Unfortunately I know this because it was popular in the 80s through early 90s. We put it in our first home when we got married in 1990. It could be original though. I think the remodel was in 90s. All that off white carpet. The basement was the coolest room in the house. Thanks for sharing. You’re getting really good with the dates. Nice respect for the home too. ❤️
My exact thoughts! Especially when I could view the wrap from the underneath.Like new of course. You and I are showing our age with the shag / sculptured thing. I've lived through both several times..Gotta give Mr.E much credit, he has powerful instincts pertaining to interior styling and executes an explore with a ravenous tenacity that comes from an uncluttered and genuinely fresh perspective. E is without question a heavy hitter, and his narrative comes from a pure hearted and honest place.. Cant be faked. His work is the Real McNeil...

I have seen this a few times before. I wanted to tell you that I just started watching your videos and I like you better than Carlo and the others. The red liquid in the toilet is antifreeze to save the plumbing. It is always used to winterize homes left empty for winter by people leaving for another home or place. This goes hand in hand with completely emptying the pipes in the entire system. The folks who lived here were caring home/apt owner/renters. If you plan on winterizing be sure to read how it is done as it is more complicated than imagined. :). PS. The raccoon came down the chimney of the fireplace. It is a popular entry for animals that climb or fly. Poor thing :(
See, this is what I don't understand, there are people out there, actually, INTO, this sort of thing. Do the owners, current realtors, whoever, even, TRY, to sell to those sort of people? Then somebody gets what they want, and another, lovely, older home, does not have to go down in dust. Damn, the 70s look had SO MUCH, DAMN, CHARACTER, AS WELL! Very cool, sad these will eventually be gone. We need to preserve this kind of stuff for the future. Cool fact, around this time, Kirby included with their vacuum cleaners, a shag rake, as the name implies, it did just what it said it did, it was to rake the long shag carpeting. Stumbled on to your You Tube last night.. really enjoy your the videos and your reactions.. These 70's homes is my era and love seeing them. Wow so extremely huge. I think you can seriously get lost in that one. Really loved the details on the wood of the doors. The basement was great in the bar it's really incredibly awesome!
This is the fourth time I seen this house. First was Riddim Ryder second was Freaktography and third was Carlo and now you. Donatello was in all different spots but on Riddims video it was standing in a bedroom doorway and scared the living shit out of me. But still another great view, thanks Ethan.
Holy cow love the stairs ..... so many rooms did not look that big at all love to be surprised by seeing more then what i think great job on exploring...
Not sure about the area where this is located but to me it distinctly looks like a Polygamoust home. I grew up in a state where there are areas where polygamous families, also known as plural families live and that is what this house reminds me of. It's really big with multiple kitchens and even though it looks like multiple apartments it still is one giant house...maybe not but that is how it looks...I love that floating staircase and the Spanish looking tile on what appeared to be the main kitchen...RIP Racoon...
@@shar159 exactly. People from Europe like italians or from spain live like that with their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins in one house. Thats why home is parted for 3-4 families to live there. For USA people it looks weird. Different cultures...

Big difference in US and European estates: 45 years in Europe is young. It’s really too bad this is due to be torn down. Thank you for sharing it with us!
This home was a beauty in it's day! The staircase and the doors are solid wood! Sure hope somebody removes them to repurpose! Materials like that are costly! Anywho...nice home! I am crazy about this house! It just keeps on going...love it!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 I think if I had this house, it would be a one family home...no apartments!
Many of these homes in Australia also. The floor tiles at the entrance gives the era away. My parents built their version in 1974, it had a kitchen of yellow benchtops, dark timber cupboards, brown small tile backslash, yellow and brown Huega brand tiles laid in a chequered pattern IN THE KITCHEN and eating area. The main living area and dining room had turquoise shag pile carpet. The pool room/rumpus room downstairs had polystyrene tiles on the ceiling, not exactly fire safe!
It's so nice to see that none of these older mansions have not been vandalized and trashed by sqatters and vandals. Beautiful 9ld houses with so much history.
I wouldn't sell it either... if it was my home... its beautiful.... i love it, thanks Ethan :) lol ddogg looked like he had episode when you were asking about the door or whatever... was funny!! lol
Great video, thanks for the tour. One comment is to slow down bit on the camera movement. It will feel weird to you there when you are doing it but translates well for the video and will give viewers time to digest the visuals. Keep up the good work!!
You have stumbled upon the old polygamist house that’s why theirs 3 separate living quarters and multiple bedrooms the reason they would have left is because he acquired a additional wife
Ha! ha! I have watched a documentary on polygamy and the women said they get along but I don't believe that. Women are very jealous and always try to outdo the other and are very competitive in the workplace.LOL! I am glad I have one husband that is more than enough for me some days...lol!
I am so glad my childhood home in iowa was redone. Because it is over 90 years old. My parents sold it 3 years ago. The person that got it loved it enough to leave all the wood in it and just clean it up. And up date that house
Hey Ethan what is this house located at that's a nice house houses they build now or just junk because they build them too fast but the house is is beautiful

One thing you may not know or realize, the back stairs and smaller rooms off of the kitchen and laundry were typically reserved for servant/governess pathways and quarters... I would take one of them in a heartbeat.
Keep up the good work including the mirror responses...
I love all of your uploads. So so interesting but given that I was born in the 70’s, I was really, really interested to see this one. I also have an appreciation for beautiful
staircases! Not disappointed. Thanks again. Stay safe

Ethan Minnie thanks for noticing my comment I meant every word and more . Thanks for the explore it is a real nice villa from the basement game room to the top floor bedrooms bathroom on every floor . Thanks for the nice video be blessed with loving care and grace.
Oh my gosh, this place is massive. I would get lost in this place. Great video 😁
Great home at one time huge cool 😎 👍 Ethan awesome 👌
Wow so extremely huge. I think you can seriously get lost in that one. Really loved the details on the wood of the doors. The basement was great in the bar it's really incredibly awesome!
I love the arches in the kitchen and in the basement bar area. The brick there too. That looks like Mediterranean style to me.
This is the fourth time I seen this house. First was Riddim Ryder second was Freaktography and third was Carlo and now you. Donatello was in all different spots but on Riddims video it was standing in a bedroom doorway and scared the living shit out of me. But still another great view, thanks Ethan.
David Brannon Sr. Thank you for watching!
Such a beautiful house. Love the chandelier and the stairs.
I really like this house lots of space absolutely beautiful
Sherry Smith it was absolutely massive!
Another amazing house Ethan 😀 keep up the awesome content ❤️
Philip Bruce thank you so much!
I really enjoyed it , thanks Ethan !
Holy cow love the stairs ..... so many rooms did not look that big at all love to be surprised by seeing more then what i think great job on exploring...
Gorgeous and those Arches in the Kitchen/dining room spiral stairs just Gorgeous chandeliers
this is probably my favorite one, soo beautiful. great work guys :)
Or it got turned into multiple apts/units to rent out
Many Asian families share homes with grandparents to adult children. Could account for a multiple apartment section
@@shar159 exactly. People from Europe like italians or from spain live like that with their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins in one house. Thats why home is parted for 3-4 families to live there. For USA people it looks weird. Different cultures...
Again with the beautiful staircases 😊😀👍
It was a gorgeous place.
What a bizarre but cool house! Its got the weirdest layout ever! Thank you for taking us
Hey Ethan...those are ubercool dwellings,man....awesome finds and discoveries...the architecture is amazing...hell,how do find some of those locally, where I live in my town to tour,man...I like that feeling!!!😁😊💪✌👌👀🏡🏠🏚🏚🏚🏙🏘GREAT JOB,BRO...keep moving...
Big difference in US and European estates: 45 years in Europe is young.
It’s really too bad this is due to be torn down.
Thank you for sharing it with us!
I love your videos, you show the most beautiful mansions, that I wish I could have just to keep it from being torn down
This home was a beauty in it's day!
This house is like a MAZE. Very much different. Too bad they are ditching it. Only thing I saw wrong was some dirty carpets
As always loved the video...Love the house! TMNT-Donatello 🐢 and those glasses reminded me of Ghostbusters👻 The slimy guy!
RIP racoon 🦝 😔
WOW I would move in there. Great home.
The pool room/rumpus room downstairs had polystyrene tiles on the ceiling, not exactly fire safe!
thanks guys be safe God Bless
It's so nice to see that none of these older mansions have not been vandalized and trashed by sqatters and vandals. Beautiful 9ld houses with so much history.
I wouldn't sell it either... if it was my home... its beautiful.... i love it, thanks Ethan :)
lol ddogg looked like he had episode when you were asking about the door or whatever... was funny!! lol
Longhair Dontcare haha, I’m glad you enjoyed!
John Lennon style sunglasses Ethan...😂 very lovely spacious home..all of it!!
I love these!! Thank you!!
I love this lay out. I want a crazy house like this.
Brandon Aldro that was my thought exactly!
😮 - you think! OMGolly!!
@Brandon - Oh, you mean a brothel.
Lucky guy...lmao! You just taught me something, I wouldn't have thought it was a polygamist house.
Ha! ha! I have watched a documentary on polygamy and the women said they get along but I don't believe that. Women are very jealous and always try to outdo the other and are very competitive in the workplace.LOL! I am glad I have one husband that is more than enough for me some days...lol!
Beautiful home and staircase
I am so glad my childhood home in iowa was redone. Because it is over 90 years old. My parents sold it 3 years ago. The person that got it loved it enough to leave all the wood in it and just clean it up. And up date that house
Love your videos :) I'm from New Brunswick, it's cool to think you're somewhat close by
Love your channel!
Good video. Very nice large place. Thanks for not showing the raccoon 😞 😘💘🎥
I drive by this place daily. Great too see inside.
That palmolive dishwashing detergent.... 2019/2020...great to see Australian
Hey Ethan what is this house located at that's a nice house houses they build now or just junk because they build them too fast but the house is is beautiful
I don’t share locations sorry
This was fantastic!!
Absolutely beautiful house, love it😍😍👍
Morning dove it was really nice!
Beautiful for being 45 years old. It has Italian windows, French doors, and Spanish style villa.
The red stuff you mentioned that was in the toilet might be anti-freeze, they put it in toliets so they don't freeze up
James Scott That’s so interesting! I’ve only ever used the green stuff in the car in Australia.
That is the biggest house. Did you count how many bedrooms and kitchens and bathrooms it had.. Thank you. You are very thoughtful and mindful of others nice job.
Oh my gosh this place is huge I love it 🤗👍
Rachel Gervais it was so big!
Stellar house..love how huge this one is ✌
That house well kept up to me I love old places I just think they beautiful very nice
What a cool place Ethan. Cool video. ❤ peace
Cheryl Scott aha thank you!
Awesome house !!! love it.
I'm a very close neighbor to you, a born and raised Northern Minnesota girl, so I'm used to it, but l still have to say l love your accent, eh? ❤😉❤
The tiny bedroom by the laundry room was probably the maid's quarters.
