Makes me wanna cry. Amazing house. The living room/dining room as well as the basement bar area have such an art deco feel to it. I love it. Also, the bathroom between two bedrooms is called a Jack and Jill bathroom. I think that idea started around the 40's. Just for two bedrooms to share one bath. The wine bottle and glasses gave me one of two vibes.....either the owners were saying goodbye to their beloved home, or they were celebrating the chunk of money they made on the sale.......either way it's sad.....
The reason the two bedrooms connect to the master bathroom is that they are his and hers sleeping quarters. Also ‘thermostat” is the word that escaped you. It’s a shame there seems to be a ton of amazing homes around you that are being demolished. No doubt to be replaced with a horrible McMansion

Nikki Lea totally! I live in Spain, Europe, and there is so bad taste, new houses and buildings are cold and ugly. It’s like they want it done fast and with the worst quality. And small, really really small.

This house is so well maintained for its age. The wood floors and the bathrooms were impressive. It’s a home time capsule. The windows in the ground floor family room are so old, they’re not even insulated. That Hampton Bay ceiling fan is not old though. Parts of this big house look updated, I’m guessing the areas that the elderly lived in.
What is up, Ethan! 🙂 Thanks for preserving these awesome homes and architectural art from the past on video. These places won't exist soon. But, because of your work, and people like you, generations to come will be able experience, enjoy and be inspired by these places. 😊👍
For a 1940s home the architect/builder were way ahead of there time, that house was stunning. The room you guys said was warm looked like they had the heating on to dry the plaster board. The basement wasn't creepy thank goodness, but for that era maybe that area was for servants. The laundry shoot would have been in the bathroom or hallway maybe, that's where we have them here in Australia. Great video so sad history will be torn down. Thank you from Australia Ethan x
Ethan, I am so pleasantly surprised how much you appreciate within these older homes, considering your age! So many discontinued aspects that I love of architecture you point out, things unknown today as being useful or even a possibility in building today. It takes an eye for style and some good taste to notice these elements. Thank you for your persistence in finding these prize properties and archiving them, it's really important! In the future we will be using these ideas again, I have no doubt. This home is very unusual, as its art deco features are seldom seen in abandoned places. I do hope architectural salvage comes in to save all the fixtures that can be installed in other properties. Keep up the great work!! 👌👌 Also, you can certainly tell the Hollywood connection by the sheer number of mirrors inside, LOL!
Thank you for taking the time to show us this beautiful home I really enjoyed the walk-through on that one I don’t understand why someone would want to tear it down with a little bit of love it could be awesome again while preserving the original architecture!
Ugh, seriously such a dreamy house! I mean look at that outdoor area. I personally really like that wine cellar too. They most definitely don’t make homes like this anymore.
Enjoy watching your videos. I am hooked and can't stop watching them. Nice to see you respect and appreciate these beautiful homes. Appreciate your great work.
We all love the 50s-70s Mid Century style houses. We all love the Victorians and Edwardian style house... But what's NOT to love about a MODERNE style house? Ya just don't see many of these! They're as rare as true Deco and Streamline style homes... And this particular one is in fantastic shape... Almost everything, save the kitchen, is in it's original form... The kitchen cabinets look to have been replaced in the early 70s, and the countertops were most likely redone in the early 90s. Otherwise, the only other apparent "updates" look to be the ceiling fans and a couple other light fixtures. Hopefully, somebody buys it and PRESERVES it as it stands... That basement Rec Room and Bar ARE INSANE! The stainless steel railing is inconceivable! The inlaid floor is SOMETHING ELSE!
STUNNING! So incredible and immaculate. Love everything about this house, that staircase, the entrance, the flooring, everything. This home was so well made, what a shame that it got torn down, it should have been preserved. I love it just as it is in this video. Thanks for documenting all of these beautiful homes!
Such a stunning house and so immaculate. The homes that you explore have such a sense of history. It's so sad that it's another one that is being torn down. Thank you for chronicling these homes before they disappear. Keep up the fantastic job.
It is historical as it is post WWII boom construction when the economy was doing well and people were optimistic People were able to afford homes and were moving out to the suburbs. This was not by means an average home for the year. it is a shame that it will be replaced with a McMansion made of drywall and plastic... The city I live in was built up in the 40's to 60's. The homes here are too expensive to tear down so we still have most of the original homes in the city. My place is part of a tract of duplex''s that were built in 1940's for housing near Lochkeed.
I love watching your channel! You find so many amazing houses. I can't believe how many are abandoned and were never bought by somebody else. I just don't understand why. Then they get demolished. What a waste. It makes me sad. That home was beautiful and i bet that family enjoyed sitting in the backyard on the stone benches which was probably a flower garden at one time. This home is timeless, now it's a home that time forgot and will never be seen again. Thank you for this video. It's so great to see homes like this that I would otherwise never get to see. I love taking these journeys with you through all these homes.
Wow!!! That bar downstairs had 3 beer fridges...serious partying there! Fantastic place!! What a shame....the wood floors just make me cry....totally wow!!💜
Can only hope that a good salvage company will save all fixtures, staircase and even take up the hardwood floors. Once that is done might only be a sad shell left. Land is worth more than house, Sad. Thanks for showing.
I LOVE this house! The cube windows are gorgeous! The covered walkway outside was stunning. I love the kitchen, and the blue lights and ceiling fan. The staircase was beautiful. The basement bar was so cool. But the wine bottle with the 2 glasses tugged at my heart! One last toast! Gorgeous house. Great explore.
I love your video’s 👍🏾...I don’t understand why developers don’t try to save homes of these earlier eras there is a lot more character in these homes than the newer cookie cutter homes...the house and surroundings is in great condition does my head in to think it’s being demolished. Your doing well Ethan 👍🏾💖
Beautiful place Very well presented Ethan. Thank you for your time. I love walking through the houses with you. Hope you continue doing this. You are the best
Too bad money outweighs anything else. I live in Denver where whole neighborhoods are being torn down to accommodate over priced multi family units that look like they were built from a Lego set. Soo ugly and awful.
I live in a town with a very good university. They are presently getting housing ready for the numerous medical students who are already here or are soon to arrive. Many older, unique houses and buildings are demolished in order to build high rise apartments for the students. I have mixed emotions about this. The new buildings look good but, I had to see old structures go.
I really love that you document these beautiful places about to be demolished. What a treasure it would be to see this years later if you are that someone that's lived in this house as a child, what a blast from the past. This place is so beautiful! Love your channel ♥️

It's such a shame that this house is gonna be demolished. It's very beautiful and huge at the same time.
What is up, Ethan! 🙂
Thanks for preserving these awesome homes and architectural art from the past on video. These places won't exist soon. But, because of your work, and people like you, generations to come will be able experience, enjoy and be inspired by these places. 😊👍
Nice house and some lovely features, loved the entry area and the glass doors as you enter into the main house.
This house was awesome!! I wouldn’t change a thing! I remember all the color block fashion and that kitchen was unbelievable!!!
That master bedroom is huge. I love that kitchen. I would so live in this house.
I agree you wish live beautiful home Lol. But lots of money buy the house ....shame very sad Lovely video .......by Jacqui x
Another gorgeous house, thank you Ethan for showing us
For a 1940s home the architect/builder were way ahead of there time, that house was stunning.
Love it so big fit for king and me lol nice job keep safe and be good
I love this house. Thanks for sharing.
I would take this house over a new one any day. It is gorgeous!
Also, you can certainly tell the Hollywood connection by the sheer number of mirrors inside, LOL!
Great house Ethan, thanks for showing us
Tearing that home down is sinful!
Hard to believe no one wants to restore it. A good decorator could make this home be off the caliber of any estate !
Vincenzo Lee I would gladly live in it right now!
Jacqueline Kohlenberg
So would I!!!!!!
So would I.
Me too!
@@jacquelinekohlenberg5556 I wish I could live in it. I'm pretty sure that this is my favorite house that he's explored so far
Enjoy watching your videos. I am hooked and can't stop watching them. Nice to see you respect and appreciate these beautiful homes. Appreciate your great work.
That makes me sad it just needs a little love
This is beautiful. Wow!
STUNNING! So incredible and immaculate. Love everything about this house, that staircase, the entrance, the flooring, everything. This home was so well made, what a shame that it got torn down, it should have been preserved. I love it just as it is in this video. Thanks for documenting all of these beautiful homes!
What a shame to demolish, such a destruction of perfectly good materials! 😥
Thx 4 sharing. Love the old houses. Good job showing this house
Im with you dude. Its a damn shame they have to tear down this beautiful home.
Five minutes ago I just saw the same house being explored be Carlo. It's a beautiful home
Seems like someone is still caring this house which it nice to see.
Early squad thanks for the upload keep up the great contents sending alot of love your way
I LOVE this house!
