Excellent bureaucrat and precious insights into how to conduct oneself whether you are a public servant as civil service officer or as a politician. Golden words which can make life better for everyone and the country above all. Honesty, integrity and uprightness are hallmarks of Shri Anil Swaroop ji. Wishing him a long and peaceful life 💐👏🙏😊

You can really feel the grace in his face, satisfaction / happiness / joy in his expressions. Those you can not find from the faces of bureaucrats who surrenders every thing ( Individuality) (duty) to the politicians. I am enough optimistic that upcoming batches definitely take him as inspiration and help the governments to rule in true democratic way.

I think whatever image Modi has but he has far better work than UPA.
Obviously he could have done much more but considering overall eco system and mindset of Government Employees it is good work especially in Infra and ease of doing business
But far less on Education quality and job creations

@@nationalist7296 I tend to believe your views on Modi's governance model but when u see in the context of the electoral bonds and the infra projects the whole growth story falls apart. I also believe that govt has done well in many sectors like in promotion of renewable energy and tourism, transport. But again we have to see their means through which they obtain the ends. Their means are illicit and illegal.

This is a very common practice, whenever a leader takes on the position for the first time, he will engage more people initially. Once he has a basic understanding of the system, he will only engage with the select few. I have seen this over and over again. This should not be considered as callousness, indifference or shortcoming of the leader

They don't care whether the policy is actually good for the nation or not and try to mislead people into opposing the policy just for their own gain.
Now, the people too are responsible for being so easily mislead and opposing a policy just because their fav. Politician has mislead them.

The process of 1000 Rs notes converted into 2000 rs notes is called declaration of cash on hand. Once you are compelled to declare cash on hand your black money is declared, and naturally brought into tax account.
2000 rs currency is to reduce the load of paper currency.
It was a very good idea, implemented to its maximum possibilities in our so much complex regime.

My opinion on the points discussed in the interview:
    1. The reason there was indecision in the UPA government, and Mr. Manmohan Singh couldn't rule over the ministers maybe because he was never intended to rule over them. The ministers who were put in charge were by the ruling party to share the power between the senior leaders of the party with little to no oversight by the PM. It may have been done so to keep senior leader happy until the party could bring the leader who has born with the birth right to rule over those senior members of the party.
    2. The PMO's approval is required for the decision taken by other ministries maybe because the PM understands that the people have put him in charge of the government and feels that it is his responsibility to make sure no minister falls out of line, maybe trying to avoid the mistakes of the government ruled before him.
    3. The Demonetisation was executed poorly maybe because they simply couldn't consult with everyone who are qualified enough to guide them before the decision was taken simply because the people guiding the government could very likely be involved with black money themselves and could leak the information even before the decision was taken, hence defeating the sole purpose. Perhaps the abrupt decision to implement it might have been influenced by someone getting the information out, so they announced it before it got leaked.
I am entitled to my opinion, so does everyone else. [I highly doubt that anyone would read through this but if you did, then I thank you for your attention. : ) peace.]

Sir, The interview was very interesting and informative.
Sir, Based on my 38 years in government sector “Transfer is not like a death”. It’s an opportunity to be in new place , new atmosphere amongst new people . Take the case of Late Shri T. N. Seshan , who was dumped as Chief election commissioner those days by the then government. He did not keep quite. He introduced the election identity card for the first time which is a must for all citizen for exercising their franchise .
Regarding “ brief case incident ” I agree and 🫢.
Most of the officers in position while in their service never come out openly with such interviews or write books bringing out experiences.

I am amazed and shocked to hear on the first part of this interview that he felt demonetisation was a good idea as he knew by this the lots of black money a CM whom he knew had made will all be gone. Now can there be a more naive person than Anil Swarup and then he served as secretary to the Government of India in different ministries. I am again amazed why we listen to such foolhardies.
