They say that elephants understand and grieve death more than any other animal! They have been known to perform burial rituals with covering with leaves, branches, soil. I remember several years back there was a news story about a mama elephant whose baby had died and she carried that baby around for weeks!
They are magnificent creatures. Maybe all of our favorite animal to see in the wild 🐘 Well, maybe not Colt. He would choose a 🦎

Seeing as you went to both Phinda and Kruger, which would you recommend between the two if we are looking at seeing the Big 5, seeing animals in action- hunts, herds, great game drives, and the like? Did you also consider Sabi and why did you not choose to go there, if you did?

and sold on the black market ?
That is an excellent question and I don’t have the answer. But I imagine they would. They are very committed to deterring and stopping poaching.
