I've read this classic several times in my life and it has filled me with warmth and joy each time. Very few authors can do this and I am a voracious reader.
Consumption.... Another word for Tuberculosis! Poor Ruby 😔 I honestly love this reader so much 💓 make a perfect voice for Anne. Just like I imagined her 🥰
I know some authors grew to hate the characters they created... Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes, for one. But LMM seems to have loved Anne and her friends and all the peripheral people that entered the stories even briefly. The growth we see draws us in, the dialogue is by turns witty, poignant, funny, and revealing. I know some of her short stories are predictable and a little sappy, but the Anne books are some of the best writing out there!
Even so she kept up and even raised the standard of the stories. Rilla of Ingleside the last in the series is imo one of the best. I've read it many times.
Oh my oh my! Wanna read it all through once again...what a lovely experience and IM WORDLESS! LMM writes so beautifully and creates an Anne so real that I cant see myself stopping to read or getting bored of her life! I'm so sure we are kindred spirits....and what a delight this experience has been
Thank you, Karen Savage, for this excellent gift. Your reading is splendid, and I have found a quiet, delightful summer vacation by listening to this superb book. Wonderful memories!
I'm on chapter 9 and MY HEART - I'm soooo curious to see what happens then (even tho I already know but theres like romance-butterflies in my stomach and I caaaant deal with them hahah
At the risk of expressing an unpopular view, l have never cared for Davy. Anne really indulged him and l was always sorry for Dora. He appears to have been allowed to be naughty and rarely face any consequences. But I know this will not be a popular view.
Ok book but Ann and her friends are horrible people wanting to kill the cat and the aunty believe in drowning kittens this bit is horrible the book would be better without this part the people in this book don't like animals the writer should not put animals in her book if she doesn't like animals
This was perfectly normal in a time when people were much more familiar with animals, and generally regarded them in utilitarian terms: they were to serve human convenience, not be petted and treated like (or better than) human friends.
They didn't have the luxury of facilities for taking in strays, nor spay and neuter operations back then, and unfortunately the conundrum of overpopulation had to be addressed somehow.
Thank you Karen, you did a heart warming job at reading this , so well read. I can tell that you are indeed a kindred spirit . Thank you again.
Wonderful narrator. Thank you thank you.
What a delightful novel and wonderful reader. Thank you for sharing.
I agree. She is an excellent reader. This is my favourite novel in the Anne of Green Gables series.

I dont think she got to hate Anne but I think she got a little bored with having to write Anne stories because of public demand
Even so she kept up and even raised the standard of the stories. Rilla of Ingleside the last in the series is imo one of the best. I've read it many times.

Thank you for this lovely audiobook!!
Too much to ask, I suppose; a paced voice committed to clarity. A voice to make the author proud.

I wish I wouldn't see the Netflix characters so that I could imagine them on my own from this lovely audiobook!
The original Anne is Megan from the original show from the 1980s for me.
My brain is a mix of the 80s series and the lovely Japanese anime from 1979, which I recently watched again on UA-cam. 😊
The Netflix atrocity is not Anne, she's an alien and its a horrid interpretation which should not have even been produced
Why are you insulting the actor's looks ?
Thank you
Book #3
Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
thank you so much!❤️❤️

Great audiobook! Here in Brazil, all the audiobooks are terrible! So I've tried in english, congratulations!😁👏👏
"Chapter 20: Gilbert speaks" *screams unnaturally*
Anne drives me nuts
Then... what did Gilbert do the rest of the time? Talk using telepathy? 🤣

Dude, it's was the 19th century, the woman wrote about what she knew. You can't seriously blame her.
