John is restoring and pimping out my old 200t in this video and he explains exactly what he is doing step by step.
This is easily the most detailed Stihl 200T rebuild video with a ton of detail. Thanks to the both of you guys. Be safe in trees. Thank you
Extremely interesting to watch someone that knows what they are doing and talks thru the process.
never seen a top handle tore down like that. cool stuff man thanks
Appreciate you posting this and getting good commentary during the process. I have a 200T that needs to be given this treatment and now I have a reference and motivation. Great camera work. Thank you 👍🏻
Nice to see a guy like John get some business and recognition for his fantastic skills and knowledge. Great video
What a gem of a film for lover's of these saws. When a very experienced engineer show what and how it's time to sit up and listen and watch especially when finding a quality engineer is difficult and expensive thanks both of you john for his knowledge and Jacob for your channel. Brilliant!
And the mad sawntist strikes again, hope this dude is on the channel in the future. Sweet vid
Thanks Gents, I really appreciated the video. I have a 200t and this will help prolong its life. I'm far from a small engine mechanic so any hands on video I can watch regarding the 200t or just chainsaws in general is invaluable. I love running my 200 t as it can certainly rip but every time I use it I'm always thinking about its longevity. Thanks again, great show!
Quality from start to finish.
TONS of great information. Thank you for posting this video. Im
Man Jake you have made the most bestest tree channel known to mankinds existence..that dude could be an instructor teaching us all the whys n how’s we all struggle with..you’ve been such a help/inspiration/all around super slashy slasher…I hope you can come to ky someday and we’ll show you basically how not to do anything…lol fail to win ratio is high round here..keep it up brother…..matt
😂 haha thanks man. Hey I gotta film some good ol’ hillbillies too maybe you could help me find some out there in Appalachia!
@@GuiltyofTreeson there’s 1 or 2 decent companies here but in Lexington you could film some real pros doin awesome jobs around beautiful homes with barns and cazillion dollar horse barns..used to be a guy on here had one vid of a removal over 200yr old home but I forgot his name
@@GuiltyofTreeson Iam a tad late to the hillbilly hunt but if your ever back out this way swing up to Ohio we will deff be able to find ya some hillbilly stuff ppl and trees lol 😂
Outstanding video and demonstration of the breakdown. I've always coveted that saw!
👍
Sick, we're gonna get to see the porting!
Great video. I watched the porting one first actually and learned a few things.
These were hands down my favorite climb saw and in my opinion the best climb saw ever made .
I really appreciate all the time that goes into these videos I can only imagine haha so thank you to everyone involved
Thank you very much, they are a lot of work
Good to see a master at work. Thanks for sharing.
I restored a 200t Myself, and i have 2 more to go. This really helps, so Its time to spend some money and get some parts! :)
My dad used to work in the back of a saw shop so this right up my alley.
Jaob, John is about as straightforward as they get. Could not be more clear. Economy of words. Can't wait for Part 2.
This is an awsome video! John is a master of his craft. I am currently rebuilding an 880 and alot of what he is teaching is helpful to me and anyone rebuilding a saw regardless of model. I like how your channel has a variety of different types of video on various topics within the tree industry. Thanks again for all your hard work.
Haven’t even watch the video and I already liked it during adds, keep up with following your dreams
I was not ready for that episode to end. Looking forward to the next one.
@Guilty of Treeson, what no nitrous!!💯🇺🇲🤣🤣
Absolutely love your channel and your content! I’ve been doin trees for several years and I feel like my skill level has doubled just from watching your videos. Keep up the good work!
Great video Jake!!!! Sooo glad I found your new channel..... I lost ya for a few months 😪
Great content Jacob..like your new channel very much!! Great insight on warming up a saw. A lot of guys over here go from zero to WOT right of the bat..allways feels like nails on a chalkboard to me..cheers from Belgium
Awesome guy. I graduated from UM and lived in Minnesota for 15 years. I had a 80 acre farm up in Bock.
This guy knows his stuff, Awsome videos, end product is a Beast !!!!!
Super appreciate you all sharing the knowledge!
Really clear and concise, great vid cheers
Thank you
Love watching you as it is very clear what is going on at all times. Thanks
Fantastic video! Thank you for taking the time, so cool to see a pro at work in his element!
Sick, I have literally been waiting 10years for this video. Props!
Bless What an awesome video with tremendous educational institutions. Especially about the spark plug. Cannot wait for the next one. Thanks 🙏
Yeah I learned that tip as well :)
The 09 was a really good ones back in my day and the 028
Interesting! Thanks for sharing.
Dude John is awesome! I cant wait for part 2 and to subscribe to his new UA-cam.
Glad you liked that Kevin
Great video. John is a cool cat!
Best thing after rebuild is use VP Racing fuel i use 40;1 its available in 50;1 but the saws last so much longer with the extra oil. It’s not cheap but i have not had to bring the saws in to be worked on! I still run my 020Super AV good job on the break down !using a little air when you change your chain will keep the saw a whole lot cleaner. That dirt and oil traps a lot of heat.
Love some 200t content!
1st. Because I activated notification bell
Best chainsaw video on UA-cam. Keep doing what your doing Jake
Wow 😯 thank you so much
Yes! John knocked it out of the park on details and you are a great interviewer bringing enhanced attention to the subject. Great job
I am so happy about this. I’ve been waiting for somebody to actually go in detail about this stuff. I’m here to stay
Awesome
@@GuiltyofTreeson John did a 461 for me a year ago or so and he was able to rebuild my 200t right before he stopped doing them. Quality work from this guy 👌🏼
Awesome to see the mad scientist at work. Share some 461s with Connecticut though please 😂
Nice video, and some great pearls of wisdom from your experiences. Thank you.
That was the best by far video on a 200t I have seen. Especially the little ears on the air cleaner cover. I had a friend break one and boom. New piston and cylinder. And they will run for a while with that chunk of meal in them. Definitely a video to bookmark! Thanks Jacob!!!
I love all the accurate information
Great video as usual 🙂
Super good video! Will definitely be referring back to it when my 200 needs a rebuild. Thanks Jake and John!
Guys thank you so much for this !!
Is what I’ve been looking for !
You, John and this video saved my 200t. The Stihl dealer couldn’t get it running right and gave up.
It is called a flex hone. (dingle barry hone). They make flex hone oil which is supposed to be used with the hone!
Man I've been trying to find one to rebuild and now you made the perfect video!
Thank you for this video and the upcoming ones in the series. Lots of good solid info to help us out. Wish it had been out about a month ago. Because I am now rebuilding my 200t again due to my lack of experience and knowledge. Looking forward to the rest of the videos. Thanks again!
I've only taken one top handle apart in my life. Very different from your standard chainsaw in some ways. Awesome to watch him disassemble it so fast. I've taken apart a number of chainsaws and he is very thorough in his rebuilding! Excellent work!
What am awesome video. I have done a few small engines and this is Great. Thank You!
Good vid👍👍 nice to see someone else that uses and recommends good parts 🔧🔧
Hope you're doing well Jake! Climb safe.
Oh, thanks! Extra gold knowledge here!
This particular saw was the best saw EVER MADE BY STIHL! Bought two of them in about 1990 and literally cut down well over a million in contracts with them. Remove brake and spark arrester and no problems. Carb kits were needed every couple of years. Rarely used any other saw even on big stuff. Light. Powerful. Dependable. Used optimal 2 mix exclusively. Still use them but gave me 2 decades of heavy commercial use. Almost unheard of. 🤣
D'accord, Brill saw. But, am very partial to my 07 an 08s. An thanks John.
U make my days better brother
Thanks man:)
Brush Research is the name brand of those hones.
Thanks!
Looking foward to the next part, great job on this.
Thanks so much guys for yet another awesome tutorial video... It'll be really helpful when the time comes... Cheers
Those are sweet lil saws. John does great work.
Hope we get to see some of the rebuild; not necessarily "The Majic", but at least the look and rebuild. Great Content Jake !
I have one that i just put up for sale!! Actually it runs like a beast.. Took good care of her and all original.. Never been touch.. still has the bosch spark plug
Awesome video guys! Been following both of you guys for quite some time and am always impressed with you work.Seriously enjoy watching this stuff from people who know what they are talking about. I am in total agreement about the vac/pressure test too. Saved me on a couple fresh dirtbike and saw rebuilds!
Good to watch all this thanks
My pleasure!
A couple of wraps from an air chisel will pull the magneto off the crank. Use a pointy tip and put it in the end of the crank.
Nice. Glad to see I'm not the only one that impacts off clutches. Stihl classes tell you to never do it, but hundreds of saws later I've yet to have it cause a problem for me.
Great video Jacob and John. John is absolutely correct, the arb and saw people on Instagram are so nice and helpful. I'm no longer on FB because there's too much drama. I found what looks like the honing tool John spoke of, it's a Osborn NovoFlex Honing Brush. Thanks again that was so informative.
Great video!
Your story sounds similar to mine… I started out working on dirt bikes then moved to a Stihl dealer. I have always loved 2smokes. Good video on the 200t! I have a 020t and a 200 clone saw with all stihl internals. They are great platforms
Great video! I can't wait for the next episode.
Cool, very interesting. Noticed the two ring piston, sign of a good saw. Lots of saws are only one ring.
Great video
Tapered fit is the word u was looking for lol 😂
Screw working on them....John needs to be an adviser to engineers on these things. It's people like John we need in DEVELOPMENT in the future 💪😎👊
Lol check my comment
Awesome video! Would love to see him build out a 2511 🤔😍
Yes definitely
Very fascinating
Awesome video John!
John didn’t have a UA-cam channel when I filmed this and he has one now :)
@@GuiltyofTreeson Ahh gotcha! Well great video Jacob! The 200t is one of my favorite saws to work on and rebuild. Should have taken Jed to Minnesota with you!🤣
We wanna see it re assembled!
Well worth saving the older 200T. Nothing like it.
Cool upload
Love this community!!!! I need to get instaG
What! I just did this rebuild last weekend, could have used all of those pro tips. You should have used my saw for the air leak demo, haha. Awesome video, definitely following John
Great video jacob 👍
Thanks man
really interesting, thanks.
Great video ! Thanks. Getting ready to buy a clone or a parts kit. The only thing I can say about Stihl's "fine engineering" is that it reminds me of an old Saab 6000 my son had as a first car. To replace water bottle, first remove engine. That manifold area is a cluster for a saw of this price. A small width stainless hose clamp would have worked great there.
I live in pennsylvania i have 10 new 200T saws i build them every day of the week, i have enough parts on hand to build 4 or 5 all the time. seldom sell any, Thanks Lewis
Very cool
Where i use to work... we had a
barrels full of stihl 015s and 020s. Some ran and some didn't. Some were apart. All were trade ins or service estimates that were declared dead.
I wish I would of had the insight to part them out. Instead they all ended up in the dump.
The hone is called a ball-hone that you like using and the other style you don't like it a 3-stone hone :)
Man i wish i had the patience to do this myself!
Really disappointed I can only like this video once. Awesome content Jake! New Channel is awesome.
Thanks so
Much
I'm telling the guys about that spark plug crush washer! Thank you
Yeah I didn’t know that either :)
Hi I was surprised you did pressure 1st then suction? I was taught to do suction 1st as if the engine is leaking it will be sucking air not pushing it out. You put some fantastic content 👍
Still have 2 020t. . I bought in 2000.
