id like to thank you for your video, there are none that explains the ncv3 platform.on the torque converter is it secured with nuts or bolts and how many if you recall
It’s been a while so I might be incorrect on the amount, but I want to think there’s 4. In the video, although dark, I should how to insert the extensions up through the access hole. I also state the torx bit size.
Yes, I had a short 2x4 that I slid in at an angle from the front on the drivers side and laid it on top of the frame at the back of the motor. I had to jack the transmission up for clearance, but it worked awesome. I’ll refresh my memory on the transmission cable and respond shortly.
One thing I might add is to be sure and get the cleaner for the cooler. I was shocked at how much junk was still in it after draining the fluid. No wonder the rebuild kit company said they wouldn’t warranty the kit if it wasn’t cleaned.
You’re very welcome. I know I could have done better on the video and apologize for any mistakes or things left out. I was just trying to get the transmission out and thought filming (even if it was haphazardly) might help someone else. There were no other videos on this model at the time. I’m glad it helped you.

@@michaelmann5732does the new transmission Needs to be reprogrammed to the vehicle computer or not ?
I didn’t have to reprogram mine.
There are 6 torque converter bolts (three sets of two). They are T55 torx.
I didn’t correct my mistake on taking the transmission lines. What I thought was a wrench fitting, was a cover over a clip.
Also I had to take all of the dip stick tube bolts out to get it out of the way.
How do you unhook the shifter cable? . You were able to support the motor with a board?

At the 13 minute mark, I explain how to unhook the cable.

@@michaelmann5732 thanks for the quick reply. I am out in the driveway today doing this job. All this info makes my life a little easier.

I'd like to give credit to my fellow youtuber and Sprinter owner ZIMALETA. Watching his videos helped me a lot in this project.
