  • First things first.. I appreciate y’all for checking me out.. make sure to like & subscribe ✅ I plan on getting more active on here now that I transferred to sublimation printing. *Disclaimer: Never make decisions based solely on anything I suggest.. definitely do your own research 💪
Sublimation is different from other techniques to get images on shirts because w sublimation the images are actually being infused into the material you’re pressing it onto. Unlike some other techniques where the images have that hard plastic type feel to them that starts to crack & peel over time. There are some disadvantages to using sublimation.. however if done correctly it’s fairly easy & comes out looking good 👀
Things needed to do sublimation.. I would suggest getting an eco tank printer & convert it to do sublimation. I chose to get an Epson printer because they’re pretty well known & seem to be a pretty reputable brand. Their printers are also easy to set up. Not to mention you can get one for a lot less than other printers.
I chose to go w the Hiipoo sublimation ink. Again.. they’re a well known brand & from what I’ve seen their ink is pretty good.
I chose to get a heat press from HTVRONT.. from my research they make good products & have different options that won’t break your pockets.
I also got my transfer papers from HTVRONT. I will be working with these & may play around with some other brands to see what’s what.. but so far so good! They transfer pretty well w the right heat & pressure.
You may wanna get a heat press mat to do your pressing on. I got mine by a company named cricut. They make heat presses & plenty of other things as well.
When pressing your images you will need to have some type of paper to protect your press from getting ink bleeding through onto your press when applying heat to your shirts. You can use regular printer paper (it works fine in my opinion) to put in between your shirt & on top of the transfer paper or get some parchment paper.
Another thing you may want to use is heat transfer tape to hold you prints in place while pressing. You can get these in many different brands.
Of course there are other materials you will more than likely want to invest in but these are just the basics.. it’s important to remember.. when doing sublimation on shirts it’s best to use white or lighter color shirts to print on & if you want the print to last, get polyester. The ink will fade a little either way over time w washing & drying but it will not work as well with regular cotton material! You can use a 50/50 polyester/ cotton blend. There are some ‘hacks’ to print on cotton that you can check into.
