    Basic Rotimatic is for 1594 Euros in Europe. You can buy about 540 KG Ashirwad atta for that much. 1 roti has approx 25g atta. You can make 21600 rotis. Let's say 2 people eat 12 rotis in a day, that comes up to 1800 days of atta supply. This is close to 5 years. It will take approximately 5 years to recover the price for 2 people. Close to 10 years for 1 person. You'll have to buy atta and oil for 5 years as well for Rotimatic. I haven't included the price of atta and oil needed for rotimatic.
    It's way too expensive. Making a roti doesn't take that long anyway which would justify this price.

    There are several issues -
    1. Very high price and S&H charges
    2. Heavy restocking fee for unsatisfied customers
    3. Instant dough making quickly followed by ball formation, pressing and cooking does not allow gluten in the flour to hydrate and activate properly so you do not get soft roti. There is a reason why mom prepares the dough and let it sit under cover for 30-40 min before rolling and making rotis.
    4. The machine is very noisy.
    5. Cleaning parts is another headache.
    6. Makers want you to use only a few recommended brands of flour.

    Thanks for the terrific explanation. You provided the pluses and minuses with clarity and without emotional interference. I see your point regarding human errors. A while ago, I witnessed my friend’s elderly parents arguing about the rotimatic. She, a banker, was clearly displeased primarily with the cost, therefore was not happy with everything else. He, a retired software engineer, was quiet for the most part, but finally threw his hands up and explained all of her human errors. (We joked that he was going to get the couch that evening.) Your human errors point was a good one. You provided a lot of good information overall, including that of customer service, which is my selling point. Thank you so much. 🙏

    Most people I know consider the price excessive and they are all dissatisfied with the piece of junk keep breaking down every time. This machine in my opinion should be less than $500 to be worth it.I would rather buy pack of 25,50 or 80 Frozen made roti that take about 90 each to make in a fry pan at home.

Your video has given me some hope that it was not a total loss of over US 2,300. We hope that we will be able to enjoy fresh Rotimatic rotis for at least 6-7 years...We are senior citizens and this will be a big convenience for us to get fresh "home made" rotis for few more years of our lives. Hi...I am from Austria. I want to know whether we can use the normal " Mehl glatt or Mehl griffig" to make rotis or puris? Please advise me

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  8 місяців тому

      Hi, I personally habve not tried Mehl glatt or griffig as we have different terminology in Germany. We have Weizenvolkorn mehl, Weizenmehl 405 etc. Doing some Google research, I see that both Mehl glatt and griffig are actully refined wheat flours (Maida in Hindi). I am sure that Rotimatic will be able to handle those as there is enougg gluten in these flours. However, I would not recommend using refined flour for regular consumption. Rotimatic is able to handle the local whole wheat flour after sifting or adding some Weizenmehl 1080 to it.

    Hey A question if you please answer would be great. I wanna buy it but from all the videos I saw the roti looks more like a Paratha, even tho you set the thickness to lowest. Also are the rotis Hard I mean in your video when you picked up from the tray the Roti didn’t blended it stayed round like a Papad

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  Рік тому +1

      Good question. The roti is certainly different from handmade roti. It is not like a Paratha exactly but somewhere in between as oil is also used. When the roti comes out fresh, it will be crispy especially with low thickness levels. I spread ghee on it and wrap it in a Kitchen cloth for a few minutes and it gets softer. I personally like the fresh crispy roti from Rotimatic. It is not hard or chewy but crunchy. It is possible to get softer rotis by adding milk powder or flaxseeds meal to the flour. I hope this helps. Feel free to use the discount code (in description) if you plan to buy it.

    Hello Rupendra ji. Can we use Sher chaap aata to make rotis in this.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  11 місяців тому +1

      Hello Akshara ji, i haven't used Sher atta. But in my experience if the flour is not too coarse, it usually works well in Rotimatic. I have tried even local German ground wheat (after sifting) and Spelt flour and got good results. If the flour is too coarse you just use it after sifting. I appreciate how respectfully you framed your question :)

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  Рік тому

      You can make about 12 - 14 rotis once the containers are full. There is no option for half cooked rotis. You can change the roast level to minimum. The puri option makes uncooked puri discs.

      I am mexican and I do not know what roti is, but I have found that Indian cuisine and mexican cuisine have many similar base pieces, what kind of flour is roti made from? Tortillas for us are from corn flour, wheat flour or a mix of both.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  2 роки тому

      Roti is Indian flatbread, somewhat similar to the Mexican Tortilla wrap but is made traditionally from whole wheat flour. These days people like to mix some oats flour, horse gram flour etc to make it a bit healthier. Nice to have you in my audience :)

    Hello. I have couple questions. Rotimatic works on India’ s electricity voltage ?
    I am here in Chicago and want to buy for my mother she is 63 years old not that much familiar with technology so is rotimatic enough easy to operate by those people?
    How often machine parts needs to be clean?
    Thanks .

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  2 роки тому

      Since Rotimatic was launched in India last year, I assume it should work smoothly there. However, it is best to contact Rotimatic team directly with your queries (rotimatic.com/pages/contact). Rotimatic remembers the Roti settings once you input them, so you don't need to do much to start making rotis every time. It is very simple to operate the machine. In my video, I talk about cleaning at length. I hope that would be helpful to you.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  8 місяців тому

      Hello, i have tried both Vollkorn Weizenmehl and Vollkorn Dinkelmehl from Aldi, Al Natura etc. They work if 1. You sift the flour with thin sieve to get rid of the bran. 2. Mix it with other flours like Weizenmehl 1080 or Dinkelmehl 630 or Indian flour (Aashirvaad etc.) in ratio 1:1. I never use the Indian flour on its own but always mix with dinkel etc and it works well.

    How many rotis you can make in one bowl of flour which we add at a time ? Like if we have big family like 10 people would one bowl adding everything will be able to make rotis in a go for dinner for 10 ?

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  11 місяців тому +1

      You will need to refill the flour container and simply start a new cycle within 1-2 clicks to make rotis for 10 people. There is no lag or warm up time when you start a new cycle. It is more or less continuous. 20 rotis are made per cycle. I have made about 50 rotis in one go without problems to host a dinner.

      You need to wash the removable parts where kneading takes place (3 parts) each time you make rotis aa there will be some dough stuck to those. These can be washed in the dishwasher. You will also need to wipe the dough from the plate close to the kneading part which takes 10 secs. Other than this no daily cleaning is needed. Advanced cleaning can be done once in 7 - 10 days.

      I also found this info - Surprisingly, the power consumption of Rotimatic is not much different from that of a high-volume microwave oven. It draws in the ~1500W range to warm up the required components and water to make 10 Rotis, with the least thickness and 3/4 roast level. The power consumption dips post this stage, rising again during the production of individual flatbreads. In any case, the power consumed is between 1.6kW - 1.8kW. The USA and Canada model has 110V voltage, and the UK, Singapore model, 220V. (Source: rotimatic.com/blogs/rotimatic/rotimatic-review-an-incredible-appliance-that-saves-time-energy-and-power#:~:text=The%20power%20consumption%20dips%20post,between%201.6kW%20%E2%80%93%201.8kW.)

      Rotimatic rotis tend to dry up in a couple of hours so you have to pack them really well (air tight) to avoid this. If you have the possibility of warming them for a few seconds in the microwave in a kitchen cloth, they get softer again. One could also experiment with the thickness and roast level settings on the machine to get the optimum quality of roti that doesn't try up soon.

    Really good content, exactly what I was searching for, subscribed! I'm interested in anything that makes life easier. 😄
    We want to buy a rotimatic and also live in Germany. As I read in the comments, you really didn't have to pay any local taxes for Germany like customs duty? Because on the website it says, local taxes are not included, but the support told me that there are no additional fees like local taxes. What did you pay for everything and was it stopped by the customs authority?
    Can one also make sweet stuff like pancakes with it? The support unfortunately couldn't help me with these questions.
    Thank you in advance! 😊

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  2 роки тому

      Thanks for your kind words. I paid about €1000 in all 3.5 years ago. Shipping was free at that time and no local taxes were levied. The machine was not stopped at the customs and I did not have to pay anything besides the €1000 to the company. Things might have changed now. Rotimatic customer service should be able to answer. You cannot make pancakes in Rotimatic but sweet roti could be possible (by adding sugar to the water container). I haven't tried it ever though. Good luck!

    How can you make Bajra and Ragi rotis with this?

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  8 місяців тому

      Rotimatic recommends mixing Bajra and Wheat to make Bajra rotis. But, I have another video on making Gluten free Bajra rotis (linked below). I haven´t been able to make Ragi rotis in Rotimatic so far.

    Are the rotis soft if we use the lowest roast setting?

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  Рік тому

      There is no default option in Rotimatic to make Ragi roti but I assume the recipe with Flaxmeal should work for Ragi as well. I haven't tried it yet though.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  Рік тому

      Yes they are softer at lower roast settings and get even softer when you wrap them in a kitchen cloth for a few minutes while they are still warm. Adding some milk powder or coconut milk powder to the flour makes even softer rotis.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  2 роки тому

      Yes they can be but they may turn out a bit dry especially if you have a high roast setting. The machine uses very little oil per roti. I use extra virgin olive oil to keep it healthy.

      Hi, they are not as soft as the handmade rotis. Just as handmade rotis can be made softer by roasting less, reducing the roast level and increasing the thickness in the machine settings gives softer rotis.

    Hello Rupender, Sat Sri Akal. Very informative video for people like me who are still on the fence to buy or not. It base cost is 1799 CDN but by the time I added shiiping and extra warranty..its almost $2500+. My question is how worth is it to buy extra warranty...is extra one year enough , can I change my mind at anytime to add more years to warranty. I know its more of ther esupport question but wondering if you went through the same delimma .. Thanks in advance.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Anna, Sat Sri Akal. Thanks for your kind words. I would definitely recommend buying extra warranty. It is an expensive machine and you want to keep it covered for as long as possible. I have extended my warranty twice - one at the end of default warranty and second recently as it was not possible to buy warranty for 4th year of use back then. So it is surely possible to extend the warranty before the ongoing one expires till upto 4 years. I would still recommend confirming this with customer service since their rules might change (maybe per country even). I know people who did not buy any extended warranty and their machines broke down at the end of the warranty period. It was too expensive to repair so they bought new machines. I wish you the very best with your decision. Hun Mummy de huth de garma garam phulke tan aithey nahi milde, par machine bhi garma garam phulke khila hi dendi hai :)

      The Rotis actually become softer after a few minutes of keeping them wrapped in a Kitchen Cloth in a Roti box. They will dry up if you leave them open for long. In case you wish to consume them in a few hours, just wrap them in an airtight container and pop them in the toaster for a few seconds before eating.

    Do roti cone out soft

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  Рік тому

      It depends on the settings you use. If you use full roast with minimum thickness the roti will be more crisp than soft. With some trial you are able to figure out the best settings as per your liking and depending on the flour. If you store the hot rotis for a couple of minutes wrapped in a kitchen cloth in a roti box, they become soft.

    • @RupenderKaur
      @RupenderKaur  2 роки тому +9

      Those of us who have been brought up in traditional Indian homes can very well relate to this. I have always seen the women around me - my mom, my grandmother, my aunts etc serving freshly made garma garam rotis to other family members right from the pan directly to their plates. Ofcourse, giving the modern lifestyles cooking ahead of time and storing them to eat together is the norm. If you look at other cuisines like italian, pasta can be just cooked for the entire family in one go. Anyways, I love it when my viewers are so engaged in the content that they are able to comment with the time stamps. Thanks for watching till for 14:50 minutes or more :)

    I think for an NRI the price is justified. Think about someone who earns 100$ per hour. Its just 20 times of usage before its fully paid off.
    Considering, it gives home made, fresh rotis - its a no brainer.
    But for a typical indian household with fulltime homemaker, it's a hard sell.
