We have purchased this rotimatic machine 4 years ago, but after some months, there was a technical problem, and the company asked for 500 dollars for its repair. I will not suggest anyone to buy it. Making rotis takes a lot time, in between making also, it stops sometimes.
I saw this machine 4 or 5 years ago, in my sister's home, in Boston. It used to get stuck in the middle, whereupon the small drum which kneads the ball, needed cleaning often.....

Indian women possess a unique gift in the kitchen; their hands, crafted by God, have the power to create food that nourishes both body and soul. No machine can replicate the love, skill, and tradition they bring to every dish, reminding us that true mastery comes from the heart.

Let me be little blunt ;) I’ve tried the Rotimatic as well, but to me, it’s just for getting by. It doesn’t make rotis that look or taste great-in fact, they don’t even resemble traditional rotis but rather look more like untanned pooris. If you don’t want to make rotis yourself, don’t have the time, but still want the feeling of eating one, it can give you that satisfaction. You’ll just have to develop a taste for this kind of “roti.” Compared to homemade rotis, I’d rate it only 2-3 out of 10. But for convenience and saving time while convincing yourself you’re having roti, maybe it deserves a 6-7. Bottomline: RotiMatic's tag line should be dil ko milli tasalli chhoti, busy reh kar bhi khaate hain roti 😆
Thanks Rajat for your honest review. Let me know if you have interest in hearing from a longer term user, sharing some of the pros and cons that appear over longer term use. BTW the first roti turning out weird, and the occasional dough ball coming out as-is without flattening- both seem to be known bugs in the rotimatic unfortunately. Lastly, good that you got the maximum extended warranty. Rotimatic has a tendency to spoil just as the standard warranty is ending. So the extended warranty will come to use 😀 I also discovered a hack to keep the aata going without constantly refilling when it makes a noise without being empty
sahi hai yar time toh mil raha hai jitni der roti ban rahi hai utni der me sbzi bana lo! sath me hi dono kaam ho jayein time ki hi value hai it's convenient and one-time investment I liked it. thodi pricey hai bt long run sahi chalti rahe toh koi burai nahi and Shilpa will not get much time for herself after the baby so usme bhi vo roti banane lagin toh aur time lagega badhiya!

Do not buy this machine. This worst quality machine I pay $1000 and its work only eight month, hardly I used its 10 to 15 times and its not working, I called in company but they are not giving any response for repair but they ask another $500 and they say we send you another refurbished machine.
We have it for last 3 yrs but the taste is very different from what we make on tawa. We have to compromise on taste. Also it takes too much time to clean . It takes too much time to cool down.
The biggest design problem: It has multiple geared motors , rotating at high speed controlled by electronic ckt. The high speed operation causes abnormal noise, and shorter life of mechanism. High quantum of mechanical components rotated at high speed and higher volume of drive- electronics is bound to give shorter life of machine. I personally don’t recommend buying this equipment

It is useful for people who are older or disabled or with big families with only women does the cooking.. else waste of money , space , effort in cleaning etc etc ..
I will not recommend Rotimatic. The rotis are nothing like conventionally made ones. Instead buy a dough kneading machine, like Kitchenaid, which will make dough with any wholemeal flour or aatta perfectly and then only job is to roll and cook them on a conventional Indian tawa. Besides this is expensive and there is no support for this product anywhere outside Singapore.
