- Is China catching up with the United States? How would the two gigant nations stand if they only had 100 inhabitants?
In this video I visualize statistics on population, GDP, emissions, life expectancy, vaccinations, causes of death, internet usage, gender, ethnicity, religion, age, education, equality and more.

Every one of these videos is a hidden gem
Hidden. I had no clue it or any other dropped.
They are also superior.
It's great that you include references to your sources, but I still think it should be noted that there's a lot of uncertainty about the size of China's population, and that China's GDP is even more unreliable and most likely vastly overstated. Nobody knows for sure by how much.
that's a fair point and something I would like to make a video on
Lei of the YT channel Lei’s Real Talk recently did an some excellent analysis of China’s current-day population numbers. I think she also has some analysis of GDP as well. (I can’t recommend her channel highly enough for in-depth, insightful analysis of all things China.)
I hope that you get 100k subscribers at the end of the year.
let's hope so 😊
@@SmallCirclesForward you deserve 1 million!!!!
Good video, thanks!
The military expenditure numbers are not equivalent as the US number is more inclusive having funding for Veteran services. The Chinese number does not include all its actual expenditure.
A few things surprised me, how many people live in urban areas in the USA and how many are Christian. And how few have a bachelors degree.
A college degree is becoming too expensive and not a door to success for many, but a years-long debt burden. Better to go to a specific (e.g. technical) school and get skills to use to get a job to earn a living (with little or no school debt).
Solid break down between the two countries

Great channel man.
I’m a simple hooman. I see small circles moving forward, I hit the like button.
Fascinating comparison

There an explanation to why these kinds of videos are so entertaining? They're effectively just well presented data.
dont stop with ur videos. it will take some time but i promise you. This will be super succesfull if u continue learning more and more and dont change the format.
With 100 people on each country. How they run their country from any part of the country including : education, economy, health care, military, space, technology advanced ....?
Keep the stats up at the same time
More alike than I would have imagined. If governments left all citizens alone, each individual could rise to their potential and it would be a better world.
If both of their current fertility rates stayed consistent for 100 years, those 100 people in the US would reduce to 83 (excluding immigration) and those 100 people from China would reduce to 54
How many people in China die from gun deaths vs America?
Probably not many but many more die from Chinese concentration camps...
All jokes aside, there's no way you're comparing Americas 'gun violence' to the situation in China.
👍🏻
3:20 The significance of these breakdowns are very debatable. Both the designation of Latino/Hispanic and Han are largely the product of demographers and governments both misidentifying and manipulating cultures and communities. A multitude of minority ethnic groups were labeled as Han under the CCP to prevent political dissent. The term Latino likewise was coined in 19th century France to justify French imperialism in order to unify Latin-speaking European peoples with Latin-speaking American peoples who it was theorized shared a common ancestry. The term Hispanic is often attributed to the US census of 1970 and previously white peoples from all across South and Central America were now culturally isolated from the majority of the country to benefit politicians and salesmen.
You didn't mention what china and the US spend on domestic security. I hear its high in china.
So... Who's the best out of the 2?
Brilliant, I loved your video and I'll watch some more. The only questionable thing (around 4:20) I find it very hard to believe 100% literacy in either nation. I believe you'll find in the American prison system there is quite a percentage of illiterate people. I don't know about China? Anyway, I'm being very picky....don't worry about me, it's still a brilliant and educational video. Keep up the great work and thank you.
between switzerland and Sweden cause a lot of people confuse the two, im swiss
Hey I feel ya, though don't you think that Slovakia and Slovenia is worse off?
@@SmallCirclesForward yes thats true, but i think more people are interested in switzerland or sweden than slovakia or slovenia but both would be great to compare cause their not the major countries everyone talks about
It's very misleading to use the gdp nominal per capita, instead of the ppp tho...
us still sweeps
Why did you show per capita CO2 emissions but leave out absolute CO2 emissions? Did you not want to show that China makes twice as much emissions as the US?
yep, part of my communist agenda you know
I know that these suggestion isnt the best but could you do Morocco vs algeria
Cost of health care?
Cost of living?
