Yeah! A lot of Asian artists review and work with them.. But it's still rare to see famous UA-camrs do it. Makes me happy because I've used camlin products for like most of my life. :p
@@saloni.sharma I'm from India and it's the most abundantly available brand for almost everything :p I didn't like their watercolours as a kid but I think they've improved their line

When I was buying watercolors and paper I bought the wn cotman pocket set (10/10 recommend) and fabriano artistico 100% cotton paper (the cheapest quality paper you can find). If anyone is starting with watercolor I recommend this combo!
Awenda well then that’s your fault for buying such a shitty deal lmao, why would you pay $98 for a product without doing research on it? Ofc they were meant to be student grade. Also tip Micheals is expensive as hell if you are trying to buy art supplies search for it on the internet first then go to the store cuz chances are you can find the product for much cheaper online.
izabela lika the Daniel Smith essentials set if a much better deal. Better quality paints. Just add a thalo green (PG7) and burnt sienna. You can mix anything.
I've following your tips from years ago and when you said that paper is important, I save money to buy good quality paper and it turn out well. The colours is more vibrant. Thank you for your tips and thank you for sharing with us 🥰🥰🥰
Happy Saturday! I'm back with a much-anticipated watercolor testing video! I selected the top 10 watercolors of this year to test them out on different paper! I really hope it'll give you some clarity on what to buy! If you're wondering where the kuratake watercolor sets are, they are different to regular western watercolor sets so I didn't include them here! For more testing videos, please check out the description for the links!
i know i'm a bit late to this video in 2021, but thank you for sampling these. it's hard to pick a budget friendly palette as a beginner without knowing what the colors look like. you did fantastic at describing paints for beginners to understand.
I'd personally get the Daniel Smith Set and put the colors in an empty palette! :) You'll have professional paints that are light fast, transparent and also easy to mix. And the red and blue colors create a beautiful granulation if you want to paint some cool galaxies 😁
I have many brands of watercolors...Prima, Cotman, Sennilier, Van Gogh, QoR and Daniel Smith! If people are looking for quality beginners paints, I recommend Van Gogh hands down. They come in pan sets as well as tubes which you can create pans from. The colors are vibrant, heavily pigmented, easy to blend and very inexpensive, depending on the site you can buy a tube for under $3! I have heard from other artists that they even have kept them on their palettes after they have migrated to high end paints, which says a lot! For high end paints, I prefer Daniel Smith for all the wonderful, unusual colors and textures they create. I was very impressed with what you could create with just the 6 primary colors, however, but it is difficult to not buy so many of their wonderful colors, lol. Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!! haha thanks! Yeah Daniel Smith is pretty expensive here so I only got the essential set which was also more expensive than in the US but was worth it!!
My first watercolor set was the same as yours and I am still using it. Unfortunately, I didn't know as a beginner that different thin layers are so important, I just used my watercolors like Acrylic paint so in my first set I ran out of some colors very quickly. Now I know better, thanks to you
Even though i’m not a begginer - i always love how constructed Your videos are, they’re so simple yet so interesting and packed with deep information. Honestly, my top watercolor artist and youtuber of all times!
I LOVE Sennelier! I use them a lot, along with W&N Professional, Schmincke, M Graham, and Daniel Smith. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I love that they made a smaller, more affordable little set for new folks to start with professional quality. I need to choose one for my daughter as she travels a lot. Thank You for reviewing them all. PS To get your professional quality pans to lay down heavy, use a bulb syringe to drop a drop of water on each pan before using.
Earlier today, I was watching your video and I commented “what are the best watercolours for beginners” I found the perfect video! Thank you so much mako! Ur the best!! love from india ❤️❤️
First, you voice is so calming.....love to listen to you. I just got back into watercolor painting. It has been years since I painting. I just ordered the W&N Cotman set that you are testing. I am very excited to try this one. I have heard great reviews about it and the transparency. Thank you for this video! Very helpful!
I appreciate you giving us an area where we can economize. Many artists explain why quality paints, brushes and paper are important not but it is difficult to be able to afford all of these. Suggesting prioritizing paper and saving a bit on paint is very much appreciated!!
The small winsor & newton set was my first watercolor set, even after playing around with other brands they are still my favorite, mostly because they are less opaque this makes it easier to start painting cautiously and layer colors up slowly plus the mixing qualities are great. I only added a few Schmincke colors: a bright pink and a neutral gray (to be able to mix every color), 2 greens and 1 red. However I’m a bit surprised by the W&N red because the one I got was much more like a yellowish orange.
after painting with student watercolors from pelikan....I tried watercolors on the tube but also cheap... but it was for me not so easy... at the end I bought the windsor&newton pocket box and I was sooo happy. Only then I realised how diferent ist to use good and not so good watercolor and paper. Now my friends bought me a pocket box of schmincke and I am really happy!
The Winsor and Newton Cotman pocket set was my first exploration into quality watercolour and it made such difference in my enjoyment of watercolour as a hobby. I plan to invest in the larger Cotman half pan set in the future. I like the Strathmore cold press 140lb paper as well, but it was also one of the only quality papers available to me when I first started out that was within my price range.
Nice to see someone else being aware of that! The Van Goghs are animal friendly. People need to be aware of animal cruelty for the brushes too!! There are very good synthetic brushes!
I read somewhere in the watercolor forum and they reccomended Koi watercolor. So i bought it. Boy I was dissapointed. Then i watched a youtube video and She was reccomending Cotman and White knight watercolor. I bought Cotman from Winsor n Newton and was so happy. Untill one day I have the budget and buy Winsor ans Newton peoffesional one. It's my favorite one still to this day, along with the Daniel Smith watercolor (❤ them both). The colors are way more rich and beautiful compared to the student quality one (Cotman). Best for me so far.
The first set I bought was the Van Gogh pocket set and they are nice, but I wanted to go to an artist grade and went to Mijello Mission Gold. These are very pigmented and vibrant.
I'm getting the Camel paints! They were the most worth it cost wise, and if I mind their smell, I will mix a good amount with water and let it sit open air for a few hours. I have some Master's Touch tube watercolors and do the same. Its smell usually goes away if I let it air.
I use Camel and I recommend them. As for the smell, I don't even remember it being there as I let the paint dry in my palette as using straight from the tubes uses a lot of paint. I don't know where you are from but a lot of professional artists in India use these as well so I believe they are lightfast too.
@@safala I've let my paints dry for a few days and they rewet beautifully! Really vibrant and the flow is magical. Watercolors are quite expensive where I live, so I'm debating getting a bigger set of Camel paints or upgrading to this affordable artist grade brand with questionable lightfastness...
White Rose - I have 6 sets just piled up, waiting for swatching, at least two sets still in mail to come.. I wont count them all, Im too scared the number gets over 50. Love trying all different brands, what can I say :)
My experience with buying watercolors and judging the quality etc is by asking yourself what do you need it for. If you want to sell your artwork, definitely go for artists watercolors , I would recommend Horadam or Sennelier ...but if you want to just paint it then digitalised it later, a student grade watercolor for eg Cotman Winsor & Newton would work just fine
I think the Winsor and Newton Cotman Sketcher palate is fine for starting out. White Nights is a very good value for more professional paints and M. Graham is actually a pretty good value as well once you know what you want. They just don't sell smaller sets or pans. For trying out a lot of colors and for getting a good metal palate, I'd suggest Arteza 36 half pan set. It's a bit opaque and there is no info on the individual paints but you get get the whole thing for about $30. The metal palate would sell for about $20 on ebay so you can't really lose. If you want to start out by learning to mix colors you can just buy a metal palate and empty half pans on ebay and then buy the basic 5 paint (tube) set from M. Graham for about $30.
I’ve been painting off and on for three years now. I’ve got several mid range brands. Recently tried a few tubes of Schmincke Horadam. And woah, love! Just ordered a set of 12.
Thanks for the demo, it is really useful to see these sets in action without needing to buy them. :) Personally I started with a Winsor&Newton Cotman set, but got frustrated with it quickly, because it is hard to rewet and you can get out only a little bit of pigment a time. When I tried making greater washes or big loose florals it made it really hard, stuff got dry before I could add more. For me it was a game changer when I invested in Daniel Smith Essentials. Turns out I like tubes much better with all the palettes stacking up. :D
I love to use good watercolour papers, but usually, I would buy postcards or A5 sizes. I think they are cheaper but more interesting to play with. I do watercolour for fun, but I am so happy that I got Winsor Newton paint. They are much better than the cheap ones. When I do not know colour mixing, I would think 12 colours too limited, but it's not the case.
I used camel watercolors as a beginner as they are easily available here. They smell in starting but it goes after some time.best thing about them is they can be poured in pans and used like artist watercolors and don't crack and can be easily reactivate d.But only downside is they are not transparent and mixtures are not at all vibrant but I learnt a lot from them and gained confidence in watercolors. They are overall good for a beginner.😊
I just ordered several Van Gough tubes so I’m happy to see that brand listed here though not the tubes. I saw in a different video that you can squeeze the tubes into the little pan wells and let them dry overnight an use them just like the pans. That’s my plan when they arrive.
This was so helpful! Thank you! You should give the Paul Rubens watercolours a try, I've been using them for my inktober videos on my channel and they're stunning! Especially the metallic set!
Hi Maco... I am following your channel for few months now and happy to share with you I started with painting as beginner...after schooling so more than 20yrs now. Thank you for inspiring and making it feel a lot easy! I recently purchased BRUSTRO brushes and waiting for my colours to come but did some painting with new brush #02 and can see the difference when doing wet on wet background. Thanks ones again
I have a cheap watercolor set but they come in small tubes, they dry out fast though. I’ve used them up as much as I could and love that your testing different sets since I want to get a new set. I like the small cell watercolors that come in small squares better. Thanks for giving us your knowledge about different sets.
I would start out with watercolor pans and if you notice that you want to paint a big painting or you want to be able to mix a certain color more quickly, then you can get additional tubes!
Hi, I've tried quite a few paints and now I use Sonnet from St. Petersburgh. Loads of piment in the colours and they 'wet up' really easy. Thanks for taking the time to produce this video.
Thank you very much for sharing this demo, the BEST so far, because they are full and complete showing different watercolor paint (mostly student grades) and different type of papers.
In my country, most of the student grade quality paint is hella expensive. The cheaper ones are usually japanese brands like kuretake and holbein, or Sakura Koi. (Holbein being more popular because it came in tubes and you can share tube it). Other available well-known cheap set would be van gogh. Because of that, selling share tubes are popular in my country, and quite a few of individual artists did this. And i'm grateful for them, i could get 1ml 24set of mijello mission gold for around 6$. Yes it's a little, but sooo helpful for me that wants to try good quality paints. These artist did some other brands like white night, QoR, Daniel Smith, and of course student grade too like cotman and van gogh. If you live in asian country like me, where it's hard to find quality paint with affordable price, do this! It's quite a promising business too, i think. And you can make other people happy ^^. When i have enough money, i plan to share tube a schmincke horadam 12 set.
I started with the Windsor Newton Cotman set you showed. It was ok. Now I use Daniel Smith Ultimate Mixing Set. I love the Daniel Smith paints. Much easier to work with than my first set. Thanks for these videos. Very hood tips and information.
I've dabbled in watercolour for a few years and I've found this video very beneficial. I usually stick to the W & N as I can get them locally along with replacement colours. I've also found to my cost that the paper makes a huge difference, took me a long while to find this out. Tfs xo
I LOOOOOOOVE my Schmincke watercolour pallet. I’ve recently been gifted some arches paper for my birthday so I’m excited to try that out. I’ve been too nervous to touch it yet because I don’t want to waste it... lol
I have the 24 la petite aquarelle from sennelier. I have since upgraded to L'Aquarelle I was able to get the whole colour range which is way to many colours but it was the best deal so i couldn't pass it up. I think the binder in sennelier is gum arabic and honey is added to keep the paints moist so they rewet easier, similar to how you can add glycerine.
Heeeyy really good video!! I have the Cotman 12 half pan set and I haven't had the issue yiu mentioned with phthalo blue. It's actually the easiest color to pick for me. I've had issues using too much of it because of how vibrant it is.
I have read Wilcox's Guide to the Best Watercolors, which is interesting if you like the science of all of this. A lot of the points you discuss here he discusses in the book. I chose Sennelier, based on what I had read. However, he did not discuss the idea that the use of honey may be an issue for some people. That's a very intriguing point and I will be taking that to heart. I'm not a vegan, but many of my friends are. Thank you, for the education. Shared experience is always appreciated.
As a Romanian we don't have access to these Watercolor brands. However we do have access to a local Romanian brand called... ummm... the Factory of Arts and Crafts (groundbreaking I know). The quality of these watercolors is ridiculously good for the price you pay and I am not ashamed to say that I spent the equivalent of 18 dollars 3 hand-size pans with 12 colors + 1 tiny pan that is 3/5 of one hand-size pan (very tiny) and 21 transparent flat capsules that hold 6 ml of concentrated watercolor paint within each of them. I am not a connoisseur when it comes to art supplies but these are definitely a HUGE step up from what used prior to these. I have enough to last me for years.
I have not seen many premade gouache pallets. I've mostly seen them sold in tubes. If you want a really cheap set, get fine touch from hobby lobby when it's half price. 12 tubes for 4 bucks. Arteza and some other student grade brands also go on sale on Amazon sometimes.
While I didn't get the exact set of Daniel smith I got a very limited set almost exactly like it. The one thing I have to say is it would help to have a brown like burnt umber because not only is it easier to mix darks (burnt umber and ultramarine blue) you can use it to make your yellow darker. I also got a black color so I don't have to mix it but to me, I would rather have a brown than a black.
Thanks for answering my struggles I always try watercolor techniq with postercolor, so the color always get muddy. Also, I kinda.... used with low quality paper Now I wanna try to boost up my skill with better supplies And I need to save more money for them Danke ^^
2:43 - Hi Mako, I purchased a set of Camlin artists water color tube set in the beginning of Jan 2021 and swatched the colours. My water colour set didn't have any kind of smell. They probably resolved that issue. I'm enjoying my camlin water colour set.
@@Anu-xc4qn Hi Rue, I'm a beginner level artist and don't paint elaborate paintings that need different techniques and colour mixing. I'm using my Camlin artists water colors to do lettering in my language - Kannada. The colours are vibrant enough for what I do. However if you're an advanced level artist, you may expect more from your paints and may not be very satisfied with Camlin. I used it on Canson water colour paper and love the colours.
I am a complete beginner, but I did invest in W&N after trying camel. There is indeed a difference in the pigmentation, however I think it's the paper that makes all the difference, one can still get a decent painting with camel if one has good quality paper and talent.
I use Koi watercolours and I think they're a pretty good set for beginners too, especially if you get a set with more colours and don't want to mix so much :)
Thank you for this. It is very helpful to know where to invest my money first. I already have cheap watercolor supplies and they are not working for me. Now I can replace my supplies wisely.
I've been using Van Gogh for a long time. The only thing is you have to add a lot of water to tone down the colors. They still are not as transparent as Winsor and Newton but they don't have a chalky feel to them.
I think it's great that it's so pigmented because you don't have to use so much paint and you can adjust the intensity. It's more work when the color is less intense and you use up the paint more quickly 🙈
Hi Maco. I am Nupur and I am from India. I have started my watercolor painting journey and your videos have been a blessing. There's a company of art supplies called Brustro on Amazon India that is very popular. I have been using Brustro watercolor papers and haven't had any issue. I was wondering if you could do a video on the watercolor paints and brushes from the brand for beginners. It would be a huge help as I am thinking of investing in better colours and brushes. Absolutely a huge fan of your work, thank you so much. Sending love, Nupur. ❤️☺️
I have used the first set which is Camlin Artists Watercolor and I liked that set..And also I can create many Shades from a single colour and that's why I liked that.. Moreover as I am from India I easily found that set and it was the cheapest from all
Hi Mako, I always love watching your videos because I learn so much from them =D . Right now I am using the winsor and newton cotman watercolor set and I am pretty satisfied with them . However, this video helped me consider other watercolor sets I might like too :)
I really enjoyed watching this video as well as others you have produced. I rarely leave comments on the internet unless I feel that they are beneficial. I noted that someone also commented on the disagreeable odor of the Camel watercolor set. Another viewer stated that there was no odor to their set. I was certain then that I knew why. In the first case, it was a female, and a male in the second case. It is scientifically proven that females possess over 40% more brain cells that are involved in the sense of smell. So both people were correct: the female could detect the odor, the male could not. As an Allergist, I have been aware of this phenomenon in medical practice. So, when my wife asks me if a certain food does not smell right, I usually tell her that it is unnecessary for me to smell it, since I trust her ability far above mine. Unfortunately in marriages, the wife often believes that her husband is purposely refusing to acknowledge the odor and the husband somehow feels that it is be almost imagined.
A lot of the brands mentioned here are not vegan, it's not just Sennelier. Looking at the ingredient list, especially the binder is key to figuring out whether a paint is vegan.
I was wondering if W&N watercolours were the most useful as I do have a set, or if maybe there was another type that I might prefer; these are great pointers in what to look for - so I was very pleased to find this video. I’m always watching your UA-cam videos as they’re just so useful to me - it’s been a while since I’ve done any painting due to illness and so hoping to get going again.
I have used the Sennelier la Petite Aquarelle. I picked it because I was unhappy with Koi, and its French. I enjoy it I have no plans on buying another set as these work for me.

I like that you tested them on both cellulose and cotton papers, thank you for making this video :D
Anyone here with more than one watercolor set and although watching it? xD
White Rose - I have 6 sets just piled up, waiting for swatching, at least two sets still in mail to come.. I wont count them all, Im too scared the number gets over 50. Love trying all different brands, what can I say :)
@@janemiettinen5176 feel u xD
White Rose I got 8 boxes I think lol
I have 18 don’t feel bad
I wish! I’m watching this with a dollar store set, but I can’t afford to buy these...
I'm upgrading to Daniel Smith now that I'm confident in how to use watercolours. I'm really excited to try them.
I’ve been painting off and on for three years now. I’ve got several mid range brands. Recently tried a few tubes of Schmincke Horadam. And woah, love! Just ordered a set of 12.
They are a gamechanger!
Super helpful video, and love your lipstick! It's a gorgeous color!
Thanks for the demo, it is really useful to see these sets in action without needing to buy them. :)
Personally I started with a Winsor&Newton Cotman set, but got frustrated with it quickly, because it is hard to rewet and you can get out only a little bit of pigment a time. When I tried making greater washes or big loose florals it made it really hard, stuff got dry before I could add more.
For me it was a game changer when I invested in Daniel Smith Essentials. Turns out I like tubes much better with all the palettes stacking up. :D
Heyyy Mako!!
Looking elegant as always. 😊 I wasn't familiar with Daniel Smith set but the brightness of the colours really blew me away.
Thank you! Yeah they are crazily pigmented and vibrant! Really enjoy working with them!
Qor by Golden is a beautiful brand of paint with vibrant & transparent pigments. Very nice video. Thanks.
A year later, I’m curious how this worked out for you. I’m stuck between doing what you said, or buying a higher end pallet/pans.
This was so helpful! Thank you! You should give the Paul Rubens watercolours a try, I've been using them for my inktober videos on my channel and they're stunning! Especially the metallic set!
Oh I've been looking for metallic paints thank you
@@yasminali6695 You'll love these! 🤓
Which set do you have? 24 or 48? Do you IG or YT channel where you post your work? I would love to see paul rubens in actual painting. Thank youuu
I would start out with watercolor pans and if you notice that you want to paint a big painting or you want to be able to mix a certain color more quickly, then you can get additional tubes!
makoccino that’s great advice! Thank you! 💕
Hi, I've tried quite a few paints and now I use Sonnet from St. Petersburgh. Loads of piment in the colours and they 'wet up' really easy. Thanks for taking the time to produce this video.
Your voice is very soothing...i love watching your videos while painting!
I just started water colouring and your videos were so helpful
Thank you
Yayy!
Wow this popped up at a perfect time, I really wanted some watercolors!
Yayy!
Mako I just wanted to say that you are my beautiful cheerful art teacher and mako please don't stop reading comment! 😊
Aww thank you!

Thank you very much for sharing this demo, the BEST so far, because they are full and complete showing different watercolor paint (mostly student grades) and different type of papers.
Thank you for the comparison! Was just about to say about the paper. And glad you included the photos with the brand names in the last part.
I would love to see you try MGraham paint. I love them! Thanks for the video.
i started with the van gogh mini set and they are great! i now paint with Daniel Smith watercolours and i am in love:) huge diffrence.
Thank you dear!😊❤ I slowly get all the sets. 😍I only have to buy three and I can start learning.✍👩🎨🎨❤
I started with the Windsor Newton Cotman set you showed. It was ok. Now I use Daniel Smith Ultimate Mixing Set. I love the Daniel Smith paints. Much easier to work with than my first set. Thanks for these videos. Very hood tips and information.
I forgot to mention, my Daniel Smith set is in half pans!
I’ve been too nervous to touch it yet because I don’t want to waste it... lol
I have ordered pebeo 24 tubes of water colours for 19,10. I hope its good for a biginner like myself. I love you,re watercolour review
Ah good point! Thank you for pointing it out!
Heeeyy really good video!! I have the Cotman 12 half pan set and I haven't had the issue yiu mentioned with phthalo blue. It's actually the easiest color to pick for me. I've had issues using too much of it because of how vibrant it is.
This video was really nice and informative! I love using watercolors and just learning about different brands and their transparency and blend ability
This video is so helpful. Thank you very much 😊
As a Romanian we don't have access to these Watercolor brands.
Please recommend gouache palettes for beginners next! Thank you!
What a fun idea!
I only have a few gouache tubes, so I don't have a huge collection that I could test for you 🙈
I have not seen many premade gouache pallets. I've mostly seen them sold in tubes. If you want a really cheap set, get fine touch from hobby lobby when it's half price. 12 tubes for 4 bucks. Arteza and some other student grade brands also go on sale on Amazon sometimes.
HIMI MIYA GOUACHE or the ARRTX GOUACHE
DEFINITELY HIMI MIYA, especially the 24 set. You wont regret it 😌✌🏼
While I didn't get the exact set of Daniel smith I got a very limited set almost exactly like it. The one thing I have to say is it would help to have a brown like burnt umber because not only is it easier to mix darks (burnt umber and ultramarine blue) you can use it to make your yellow darker. I also got a black color so I don't have to mix it but to me, I would rather have a brown than a black.
Thanks for answering my struggles
I always try watercolor techniq with postercolor, so the color always get muddy. Also, I kinda.... used with low quality paper
Now I wanna try to boost up my skill with better supplies
And I need to save more money for them
Danke ^^
2:43 - Hi Mako, I purchased a set of Camlin artists water color tube set in the beginning of Jan 2021 and swatched the colours. My water colour set didn't have any kind of smell. They probably resolved that issue. I'm enjoying my camlin water colour set.
Hey, I'm thinking of buying that, how's it so far? I'm kinda stuck between sakura koi set, brustro, derwent intense watercolours and finally camlin
What line of W&N did you get after Camel? I'm using the Camel artist watercolors and the pigmentation is so intense and is cheap!
@@krabfingers8473 it just says cotman, I'm also getting schminke academy soon
I use Koi watercolours and I think they're a pretty good set for beginners too, especially if you get a set with more colours and don't want to mix so much :)
I started with m.graham sets.i also learned so much from Steve Mitchell on "the mind of watercolor".
I enjoyed your video.good job
Thank you for this. It is very helpful to know where to invest my money first. I already have cheap watercolor supplies and they are not working for me. Now I can replace my supplies wisely.
I've been using Van Gogh for a long time. The only thing is you have to add a lot of water to tone down the colors. They still are not as transparent as Winsor and Newton but they don't have a chalky feel to them.
I think it's great that it's so pigmented because you don't have to use so much paint and you can adjust the intensity. It's more work when the color is less intense and you use up the paint more quickly 🙈
For Camel, there is a permanence rating given.
A is absolutely permanent.
B is permanent.
C is fairly permanent.
Happy Durga Puja mako!!!!!!!!
Durga Puja is the biggest festival for Bengalis and I hope this week makes you the happiest one!
I want to learn how to control water. That will be my superpower. 🌊
Thank u so much for reviewing camel watercolor because in my country other watercolors are way too expensive.
Excellent video!!! Love you Mako
Thank you!
Hey mako..!! Thanks for such helping vids...love from India from moon n back 🥰🥰😍
I’m taking a trip to Walmart, yes Walmart tomorrow and I’m in watercolor mood so I’m gonna watch this video
Sending love,
Nupur. ❤️☺️

Really enjoyed seeing the different paints used. Thank you.
Camel is one of my favorite and the best brand for me
I really enjoyed watching this video as well as others you have produced.
Thank you for mentioning that some paints are not vegan - I'm trying to live vegan in every situation, not just when it comes to food :)
Lena I love you!🌱💛
Thanks for all you do for this lifestyle! I’m also going vegan!
Brushes as well (sable brushes aren't vegan)
A lot of the brands mentioned here are not vegan, it's not just Sennelier. Looking at the ingredient list, especially the binder is key to figuring out whether a paint is vegan.
That's what being vegan is about :)
Ok literally this helped me so much and thank u
yayyy!
Omg thank u for the like
You should do a review on shimmer water colors! That would be so fun to watch and see you work with!
I was wondering if W&N watercolours were the most useful as I do have a set, or if maybe there was another type that I might prefer; these are great pointers in what to look for - so I was very pleased to find this video. I’m always watching your UA-cam videos as they’re just so useful to me - it’s been a while since I’ve done any painting due to illness and so hoping to get going again.
i use rosa they have student level(studio) and pro level (gallery) i use studio and they are grate for the price
Thank you for this in-depth watercolour set video, it was really handy to watch :-)
Hi mako, for camel colors, if you put from tubes to them in pans and let them dry the smell goes away. Colors are very bright, almost cartonny.
I have used the Sennelier la Petite Aquarelle. I picked it because I was unhappy with Koi, and its French. I enjoy it I have no plans on buying another set as these work for me.
I think it's a great set! I personally didn't like the koi set either!
I liked the testing you did on all the sets of watercolors. Great idea & thank you. 🌻🌷🌸
