Speedrunners: Beats 5 levels in 30 seconds.
Me as a kid: Spends one hour on a level
Nahfr sometimes it take 2 to 3hrs to beat a level if you get stuck on a puzzle or something

Some are good. Super Mario 64, sunshine, 3d world and odesssy are all good, but some like the galaxy games are too simplistic and bland for speedrunning. Don't get my wrong Thier good games, just not speedrunning worthy sometimes

this was a crazy good run. i'm surprised that this version of speedrunning where you just tale out the cut scenes isn't more popular. it just seems like a more fun and competitive way to speedrun
Why isn't this category ran more? It seems infinitely more fun than regular any% as you don't have to sit through literally half an hour of cutscenes
because its niche in terms of availability. a lot of runners run on the actual console, where fast any% isn't possible.
@@TheMike0088 This IS run on console. It is absurdly easy to mod your Wii and use Gecko/Nintendont. There really is no excuse not to run fast any%

Man I remember spending hours playing this game. So much nostalgia in an hour.
I remember playing the mini levels and them being so damn hard. This game was one of the hardest mario games ever made.
For those people that asks why Sunshine isnt a good gane for speedruns, it is basically for the King Boo boss, just because is the most random boss in the game, the fight can be done in 2m or in 20m.

I’ve played this game to death, and I’m pretty good at it, but there is no way I could ever do all the amazing stuff you just did. This is the one game I wish I could speed run.

Sunshine is my second favorite Mario game. It was my first but until Odyssey came out, it became second place but it’s still a phenomenal game.
This is by far one of (if not) the best mario games ever! I also think mario double dash is the best racer out of the bunch
You do not need to pull the bloopers’ nose all the way off. Once his eyes turn pink you can release and deal damage. :)
But how do you go from one level to the other one without going back to the main city ?
This is a speedrun done with a cheat code, I only run through stages that are required to beat the game.
Downtime is completely cut out, such as Overworld movement.

Harley Hartmann I’m not too sure yet but that would be cool! The sunshine switch controls are R to stand and spray, ZR to walk and spray, y to dive, x to change nozzles, and I don’t think there’s any way to control the water pressure though...but maybe if you do a quick press it will do a splash

On switch pro controller its R then A quickly. If you do it while walking he will do a backflip.

How you can change clothes
Matias Daniel for the sunglasses talk to the yellow pianta with the sunglasses, once you have 30 shines I think. Then you get the Hawaiian shirt once you beat the game and talk to the same pianta
I didn't like the secret levels. Felt more like stress and work to complete rather than making the game more fun

To spinjump, you rotate the control stick and jump after rotating
Imo what makes this game and 64 so fun are Mario’s fundamental mechanics and movement. It legit feels fun to run around dive jump. The walk kicks were the best in this game like I’ll never understand why they nerfed Mario’s walk kicks so much in modern games.
I have a question for you. Why do you and other speed runners always play games with the Japanese text? Just curious
Text is a lot faster, sometimes Japanese versions has more glitches and makes speedruns faster/easier

Its modded, so it goes in a category called "fast any%" as opposed to just an "any%". Fast any% allows you skip cutscenes.
