    Sorry you had a nightmare. I have had Vivint for 10 years. I had them when it was called APX. Each time I have had a problem through the years, Vivint replaced equipment at no charge.

    I agree with this video 100%... although i had a different issue with Vivint.. but they are the worst.. i bought a package that cost about $1500 that included thermostat, alarm system, door opener, garage opener, etc.. as soon as i canceled my alarm system they revoked my access to the app so i have zero.. zero access throught he app because it’s supposedly part of the alarm package... one more thing .. their hubs the new one cannot work with other systems only vivint toys...be careful.

      The same happened to me.
      Total paid 5200 on equipment and cancellation. It was a nightmare for 2 years so I preferred to paid and get out from them.

    The cameras was the problem. Each camera should be plugged into its own power supply. I had nightmares too. Try not to use pre installed alarm stuff previously installed, go 100 percent Vivint products. and Don't let them install an older panel, get the latest installed, lastly, make sure the wires to your panel are sending proper voltage, a previosly installed wires from battery backup might not power properly thus causing panel issues and delays.

      DO NOT GET VIVANT!! I have my own horror story with them. Plus, they hide a lot of their background. I wish I had never gotten it.

    I only want people who are fed up with VIVINT who wish to file a lawsuit against them for not taking responsibility for faulty equipment at no fault of your own and you can't use this equipment on any other security system therefore they are 100% liable for any and all malfunctions during the contract by law. Therefore I'm asking anyone who knows that this equipment is malfunctioning and has the same problems I have had with VIVINT and provided undeniable proof there system is in fact is very unreliable? I know there is others out there who feel the same way, small claims court is an option but will fade in the background unless we get a class action lawsuit going and put a stop to over charging, over stating corporate demands by instituting no fault clause on all services provided by this manufacture which is against the law. The customer is always right policy is needed to stand up to those who bully everyone in believing that they did something wrong here, when it's their equipment that failed in the first place.

      Name a camera company that can do what you're asking. It's too many variables. Distance, camera location, car location, what sensitivity level you have your camera set to, which model camera.......

      I am having a Nightmare with this company...My system has not worked since installation in June. They lied about everything and lock you in a 5 year contract. They lied about monthly payments and will not work with keeping this system working. I am interested in seeking at Attorney ASAP. They are trying to lock me in paying for broken equipment for $2000. As a customer I am willing to join anyone in a Class Action Suit....this is not fair or ethical. My system again has been down for 3 weeks....still not working. Totally disappointed.

      My system was broke and unusable for literally 5 months and they kept putting me off. Still charged me the whole time

    I work for Vivint and I can also vouch for how difficult some of the reps can be. I'm so glad you were able to get Bob, he seems like a rockstar.

      My expensive camera's from VIVINT didn't pick up someone vandalizing my Mercedes Benz several times but my neighbors across the street capture it showing the person was less than 10 feet away shooting out my windows right in front of my VIVINT camera. I showed this t Vivint and the police but they refuse to give me credit for a system that I thought was protecting me and my family for last two years. They refuse to come and pickup their system which don't work and they demanded that we cancel. I repeatedly asked them would you pay for something that don't work or continually don't work? To make this right pay for the damages done to my Mercedes Benz or give me all the money I've paid into this system thus far. They refused, and stated we can install new updated equipment free of charge, but they should be offering this to everyone right now to save face cause this will happen to everyone who has this system. So i save them a possible lawsuits in the future only to be punished with upgrading a system I can't trust anymore and they will not backup there equipment or stand behind there expensive system.

    Thank you for this video. I am also having issues with this company I am so tired of climbing up and down the stairs rebooting resetting just today they had me go outside get up on a ladder and reset one of my cameras ( I am not paying $50 to have a tech come out ) it would have cost me at least $1000 to have a tech come out every time this system went offline. I have a camera off line right now. and my doorbell camera goes offline twice a month. I am going to call them back right now and demand the new panel and have it hard wired. I am so pissed at this company I am ready to tear it all out and send it back and cancel the credit card.

      I too got tired of going to the camera to reboot them. I added a smart outlet to all 16 of my cameras so now I just tell Alexa to reboot them.

    Just had my stuff installed and the tech was very helpful and knew his shit. Captured someone that next morning lurking at my door and it alerted him. I get notifications and have my system setup so it’s not making a whistle noise every time someone walks by. It sucks so many people here have issues but I’ve so far had zero problems. The tech did tell me to never have any of my friends call Vivint and to call him instead as Vivint didn’t cut me any deals or discounts. My tech had to call and get me discounts.

    I have Vivint, but in a very simple implementation with no smartphone interface and month-to-month monitoring contract all costs paid upfront.
    It's only 3 door sensors, 2 motion detectors and 2 fire alarms. I can tell you that ADT has become much worse.
    I had ADT for 21 years and I could no longer even contact them without waiting at least 20 minutes.
    ADT continuously raises monitoring costs every year. So, I wouldn't recommend ADT.

    I'm so sorry that you had to go through that terrible experience with Vivint professionals who did not understand the difference between WiFi and Homeplug networking issues. This is a travesty. Although I do not use or work for Vivint or any competition, I have personally gone through the same trials / errors that you experienced in my own testing of Home Automation and Security.

      Troy Staten a few things he says don’t add up at all. Sounds like he accidentally left his garage open and was mad vivint didn’t act as an insurance company. 95% of this could easily all be made up.

      I am a manager with Vivint and run everything in Kansas other than KC. Almost everything in this video doesn't add up to anything my techs have seen. Some of it is correct. But sounds mostly like he is exaggerating or not listening to techs. Every tech would know that over 2 cameras its suggested to put a hard drive and relays for the cameras and put a 5ghz chip or panel in... I personally do a walk-through check on every install after they are complete and follow a check list after the tech to make sure no corners are cut. And final note if this guy had that many cameras he would have been told at the start he needs to have 5g wifi and nice router to run more than 2 cameras.

      Don't let that bad experience turn you away. Vivint is the highest rated alarm company in America. If you want so solid info and a great price let me know.

    Vivint is definitely still working out their quirks. From equipment to service they have a long way to grow. Hopefully now that they are publicly traded they will continue innovating even faster.

      Quirks, you mean like not seeing the contract online, not being able to change to paper bills, 5 year contracts that still go on after 5 years and many attempts to end service. You know quirks. IE theft and dishonesty.

    After false fire and burglar alarms I took the battery out. I find out I must completely pay for all this unwanted equipment and pay off the remaining time on a contract. I'm 73 years old and disabled, and think I got scammed to the tune of thousands of dollars. The small print is illegible even with a magnifying glass.

    I am a private Security officer license with the State of Texas our system been down for a week now called them said they didn't have any service technician for our area.We live in a bad neighborhood.

    Thanks for sharing, I canceled my appointment I had for this morning to get the cameras installed, I’m seeing to many videos that Vivint is not good for many reason, one video shewed how Vivint tech who install cameras at this person house came back around 2:00am in the morning and broke into his car and the alarm never went off and valuables was stolen and the man when he looked on his panel remember that’s the same Vivint tech who installed his cameras and Vivint said nothing they can do

    My Granny and I are having the same problem with our thermostat currently. The electric bill is through the roof, and I’ve finally reached my breaking point. I’m calling customer care today and this is going to get figured out or I’m going to start looking for lawyers.

      Don't use the presets or smart assistant and never use the Heal/Cool setting. Your bill will go down.

      Call their loyalty team and tell them you want to cancel. They will reduce it quite a bit.

    I am within my first 30 days, nothing is working. I have opted out of arbitration (page 2 paragraph 19 of the agreement). Tech call this coming Wednesday. If it fails again. We are dropping legal papers on vivint.

    My heart goes out to you. I am so glad we got rid of them. We have had for companies for security during our marriage and they are undoubtedly the worst. They are horrible. I hope the word gets out to everyone not to use them.

    I don’t have service with them anymore. It was too expensive. Two years later they are recording my voice in the home through my doorbell and they won’t trouble shoot. They want me to reconnect in order to fix the problem.

    My experience has been horrible also!! I hard wired the system myself because they would not. Mine is not working right now!! It is trying to boot and will not boot, so my system is useless but yet I still pay for it!!

    I called with some questions, and the rep I spoke with was careless about my questions and just wanted me to pay for a contract and pay 49.99 a month and have someone come the next day. I kept saying I only wanted to get some information and he kept saying, we can answer all your questions but its a great idea and you should pay now to start your service. I tried to be polite and say no and make him understand that I only wanted information and because he kept asking me for money I had to just hang up

    Currently and for the last 2 years have been having issues. Equipment not working…. Many times to request a human being to come out to fix…. Always Always Vivint told me to trouble shoot. Finally after 2 years a tech is coming out…. Have been using vivint service for 5.5 years now. No offers to upgrade or specials on new equipment…. Talked to rep last week, they scheduled a tech to arrive including next 6 months discount and some other offer for inconvenience… we shall see what happens

    Just got the system , have the new panel but it keeps going off line. Can't get the schedule for the cameras. Tech should have done it at install or at least shown me how. The booklet has NO instructions on using the unit. Called tech support ph gave issues . after transfer to tech support got cut off. Seems like it could be a good system.. but the offline problem and it won't reboot. Cameras sound off every time i pass them of course all the neighbors are annoyed. . I'm Very annoyed.. We've had rolling black out's and guess what things have to rebooted each time. I'm in the 30 day period... Ugh...

      Have the Tech " hard wire" the cameras and you can adjust the sensitivity. If they will not hard wire it I would have them take it out. Mine is still working good after the hard wire. Dont pay any more money be firm.

      Vivint is a great system with the newer equipment. Called the smart hub. Had it for years no issues. Great customer service experiences.

      Security experts always say whoever comes into your house for deliveries, estimates, contractors as well as family, friends and neighbors, has the ability to case parts of the house. Some items like jewelry are commonly kept in bedrooms, tools in the garage or basement--so thieves know precisely where to go to quickly take what they want and bolt.

    Sure makes it hard to decide when you hear something like this. Always something with some company. But what do you do? I had ADT come over for a consultation and long story short. They wanted to sell and install the old panel with buttons. But they were advertising the pulse touch panel. Of course I declined their offer and installation due to that. Else I would have gotten ADT. I do like Vivint and might still go with them. But probably just get the basic package with monitoring. And then have hard wire cameras installed by a different company.

    I don’t do steps they don’t work. 2 years ago same issue for me walk through steps after power outage everything works. Wherever you live the Vivint people aren’t very good that’s all it is. Same thing as my buddy got a “Brand name truck” and everything was bad so we won’t go back deal. It does suck but isolated incident definitely not the standard.

    I had them my outdoor camera got broken don't know how it was on our roof they said I had to pay 399 then they charged me for batteries and lost door sensor due to a break in I just couldn't finish with them & their rude csr so I just stopped paying been stress free 1 year now

    So I’m at 6:50 mark on your video. But in my experience when cameras start to randomly drop off it’s a bandwidth/internet issue. How fast is (was) your upload speed? And are the cameras 720p or 1080p at the highest settings? (Obviously you probably can’t answe the settings question).
    But for four cameras you probably want an upload speed of about 10-20Mbps to high quality and no issues.
    Again. I don’t know the rest of the story so in your situation it may be the panel or if the WiFi is coming from the panel it might also be a signal strength issue. But that usually wouldn’t be random drop offs it would be the farthest camera’s loosing connection. (Also - another possibility - if the Sky Panel does control the WiFi and it’s WiFi upload was slower then your internet then that could also be a limiting factor)

    Each experience will vary, Vivint will definitely take care of their customers. If you have internet issues or other items in the way of the camera or out of range that's not a Vivint issue. Vivint covers all equipment. No other company will do this, no other company has their tech either. You seem to have an older system. The smart hub, the new panel can support over 7 cameras with no issue. Sorry you had those issues. If anyone wants a high quality Vivint system let me know. Always if possible PLC the panel and cameras. You won't have any of these issues.

      Don’t do it. One their contracts, they told us it was going to be for 1yr and it end it up being 2.5. And its true they want to do what they think is better, not where you want or need. Plus the free service is ridiculous, ours started beeping for not reason, they said it was going to be $50. They are ridiculous young reps when you call, they only answer what they have in front of them(a list of things to say, only)

    The devices that were used are called PLC or PLS. They are used when the signal is below -65, which is too far away from the panel. A WiFi analyzer should be used prior to installation to figure out which devices should be used. With the proper installation technique, customers won’t have these types of issues.

      I think techs don't use that device, cos even having wifi bridge many times cameras go offline , and also these devices somehow go offline, I wonder how the communication with the router stops for these wifi bridges

      I am dealing with this nightmare also. It is a tragedy! Were you not able to get them to cancel the contract, you had to buy it out, and then you canceled the service?

    It was probably your internet not your system. I had the same thing happen to cameras that I purchased a while ago. Security systems do not use wifi normally, only your cameras. What a mess though!

      You are correct. The cameras were using the existing standard WiFi router to manage high definition cameras over the WiFi. This is my analogy for your WiFi router, you were pulling a loaded trailer with a Mini Cooper, it works for a bit but once it overheats it doesn’t run anymore. Bob took the load of the WiFi when he installed those adapters and also gave you a free panel. I’ll be honest, someone paid for that panel, it was either Bob himself or his warehouse manager when they conducted their inventory count, I can assure you it wasn’t Vivint who paid for it. I work for an alarm company and if the customer doesn’t have the correct WiFi system to run the cameras and they are not willing to pay to upgrade their WiFi system, we don’t Instal cameras, some cancel all together, but in the long run it’s better that way for everyone.

    We had the Sky Control Panel that was the White one with the Green Home Button & White Emergency button. It was absolutely terrible the Doorbell camera kept going offline and it just sucked. After a year or two they updated their Panel & Camera's with new technology which is surprisingly absolutely great quality with package protection on their Doorbell Camera and Whistle Deter on their Pro Camera's for lurking activity. I now 100% love Vivint and like that they steped up and fixed all the issues that happened with their old products!

      You may not need new equipment unless you have smart cams than you def need a smart hub, however if you have existing equipment and are having problems, buying new equipment won't resolve the problems... get your cams hardwired ..Fyi...I have my own router and modem a Linksys Velop mesh system and returned cable company equipment back to them

    I had similar problem with my furthest away camera from my smart Hub and after several techs coming over and unable to fix it, then finally one smart tech hardwired my smart cameras and fixed the problem once and for all and now all is well and happy

      @@johnzapata8954 What Vivint calls Hardwire is using a special PoE (not the regular PoE) that utilizes your home electrical wires as a source to transmit signals to and from the cameras and the smart/sky HUB via home electrical system Vs using airwaves signals. This new connection instantly made my 2 cameras work as it should.. Fyi It is my understanding that Vivint does not hardwire cameras in the traditional sense, But using home wire works great

      I’ve been with Vivint for almost 5 years and I can’t wait for the 5 year contract to be up,so I can cancel immediately! I haven’t turned on my alarm for 1 year because it’s so unreliable I get false alarms all the time,it goes offline and customer service is horrible!

    My expensive camera's from VIVINT didn't pick up someone vandalizing my
    Mercedes Benz several times but my neighbors across the street capture
    it showing the person was less than 10 feet away shooting out my windows
    right in front of my VIVINT camera. I showed this t Vivint and the
    police but they refuse to give me credit for a system that I thought was
    protecting me and my family for last two years. They refuse to come and
    pickup their system which don't work and they demanded that we cancel. I
    repeatedly asked them would you pay for something that don't work or
    continually don't work? To make this right pay for the damages done to
    my Mercedes Benz or give me all the money I've paid into this system
    thus far. They refused, and stated we can install new updated equipment
    free of charge, but they should be offering this to everyone right now
    to save face cause this will happen to everyone who has this system. So
    i save them a possible lawsuits in the future only to be punished with
    upgrading a system I can't trust anymore and they will not backup there
    equipment or stand behind there expensive system.

      @@jessieh.8443 I don't want to cancel, canceling means its my fault and I have to pay for the equipment in installments or all at once. Why pay for equipment that don't work? Would you? On top of this I would need to pay a cancellation fee of $250.00 that's BS. I Want a full refund!! I've sent in three letters by email no response and do you know why, emails are legally binding. If your happy with there system then congratulations but since knowing about them and how many people are dissatisfied. I would think before stepping into another contract with any of them.

      Look on page 2 paragraph 19 of your agreement - send them a letter letting them know you opt out of the arbitration agreement. Then you can take them to court when their system fails - because it is going to fail often and for long periods of time.

    We had cars hit 3x and the camera NEVER PICKED ANYTHING UP - the camera stopped recording at 11pm the night before and restated recording 7am the next day ( this was a constant problem - very FRUSTRATING) Vivint’s reply was I need a better camera for night vision they upgraded the camera for free but that night camera had similar problems--their customer care department was the worse everyone telling you something different all the time ( very FRUSTRATING) -- Vivint has been the worse company that I ever had to deal with -- I stopped the monitor with their company but was told that my cameras would still operate I w just wouldn’t have the monitoring however 5 months later all cameras went offline and haven’t worked since BUT I PAID OVER $3,000 for the cameras-was told that cameras were mine and would continue to operate / work with my Wi-Fi -- they DO NOT and when I called Vivint was told I need to sign back up with them-- there should be a class action brought against Vivint!!!!! 😢😢😢

      Zinwell PLC, and the main issue with the cameras is the internet, any change on your internet or power will be affecting the cameras. And the more cameras the more issues you will have .

    Yes a man that has a weapon I thought you were going to go out there like most of them do without anything in their hands and yes that company is a nightmare I'm curious to know who you went with because ring simply said your Wi-Fi goes out there modem goes out ring goes out completely saves the modems goes out but they say that they can be monitor they have Wi-Fi splitters now if they put that thing up to your sensor to your door as long as they don't close the door it's not going to elect an alarm sorry
