    Vivint also offers DIY options. If the customer doesn’t qualify for financing. It’s like $349 upfront for a doorbell plus security sensors.

    Seems like a good system, but pretty pricey, especially for $30/month monitoring and $600. I know it's not DIY, but it seems to me that Ring has the best thing going right now for the up front costs, $10/month monitoring, and the ability to integrate with other ring products and Alexa. Good Review!

      @@azb4221 it's 60 days and pretty close to continuous as it has snapshots between events and you can scrub through it like time lapse. The motion detection is pretty spot on but it seems like these cameras are pretty good with their AI and image quality is good plus they respond fast. Awesome review.
    Some of my favorite features that weren’t mentioned is the integration of Car Guard into the alarm. If someone breaks into your car you can have the outdoor cameras sound a siren or you can have the system arm itself when you drive away from the house. The other thing is the Smart Drive. I’m not sure if you have this or not but it allows for 30 days of continuous recording on all cameras for a tiny fraction of what companies like Nest and Arlo charge.

    • @abc123fhdi
      @abc123fhdi 4 роки тому

      Ring gives you 60 days for $3 a month. Or $10 for all cameras and alarm system, though I do like how slick this system is, the image quality is very good and loads quickly, and the car guard stuff is pretty amazing.

      I recently bought a house with Vivint already installed. I declined the transfer of the previous owners account because I doubt they had all the devices payed off. I have been using the system and kind of like it but I haven't had to pay a monthly subscription for monitoring which I don't want. I'd rather monitor myself. I currently have the old door bell and outdoor cams with the smart hub Would I be able to upgrade my devices without a monitoring subscription?

    I just purchased the vivint security system and looking forward to what all it does. However I don't know how I feel about having automatic locks on house as I'm afraid of hackers being able to unlock my home while I'm away or in the home. • @SteveDOES

      Yea, nothings full proof. Can a smart lock be hacked just as easy as a standard lock can be picked? Probably. What i like about the smart lock is that you can get notifications when the door is unlocked. Then you can jump on your cameras and check it out. I've had the system for about 2 years now and i still really like it.

    Another great video Steve. We are building a new home and I'm researching home security options. I currently use Arlo Ultra cameras on the exterior of our home and iSmart Alarm on the inside. They of course don't work together and I have to open individual apps to check alerts. I presume there is no integration from Vivint for Arlo in particular. Does the Vivint system allow for voice commands? Alexa, Google or Siri? What about Homekit? I really enjoy my Ultras' and am reluctant to spend the money to switch to another camera system, especially if they are lower quality. Would you say the cameras are as good or better than Arlo? Thanks buddy! I appreciate what you do!

      I'm a Field Service Manager for Vivint. The Arlo cameras are not compatible with our system so unfortunately the integration is not possible. However, the camera quality is really awesome as reviewed above. The camera is not only really good quality wise but is actually a smart camera. Meaning it not only detects motion but can differentiate between a person and a car, animal or bush waving in the wind. You will only get notified for person detection and once the camera detects a person, it will light up red and play a whistle tone to deter the individual. Seriously cool technology! Like Kevin said, it will work with Alexa and Google as I have both in my home and use them everyday. Best thing to do is to have us install the system and play with it. We offer a trial period where you can choose to cancel if you are not satisfied with the product.

    I’ve had Vivint a couple of years, worst investment ever. You are limited to four cameras, doesn’t matter indoor or outdoor only 4 cameras period including the doorbell. Also had to have 3 replaced cams 2 at my cost from leaking water into the housing. My control panels I have two one upstairs one down never work. I’ve had several problems with this system. Along with numerous false alarms requiring police to show up. My whole system was a little over $5000, but it more like a paper weight because I never use it. The reason I was excited about this system was I would be able to keep an eye on my swimming pool. As I have several neighborhood kids and younger relatives visit my home. And wanted to have video surveillance just in case. Either way not worth the price or service.

      @MexicanChrisKyle 4 роки тому +1

      Power over ethernet (poe). We typically drill through the walls and use catv/ethernet cable that goes into a plug to power the camera. Then we can hardwore it using the ground in the home (plc/poe) or wirelessly with a bridge. Indoor cameras are similar to ring indoor cams. Theres a plug thats a set length that goes into the back of the cam and youcan move it around freely or screw it into a wall

      Where your panel is located can affect connectivity. Make sure it’s centralized from your cameras for the best load speeds. Use the chat with vivint feature in the app for the quickest support. You probably have the white sky control panel which is buggy and not as smooth as the new one shown in the video. Also the new outdoor camera pros have better detection boundaries and sensitivity features to prevent detection issues. Hope that helps I’m a 3 year vivint rep who grew up with vivint as well. Now if you’re done with vivint beyond point of return. I would suggest going with the google nest or arlo cameras. They are much better quality than ring and less susceptible to hacking. Also simplisafe has had issues with hacking as well and has multiple vulnerabilities so id look for a different alarm provider. Hope you get it worked out!
